Stayed in this hotel last January 2020. The most commendable thing for me in this hotel is the location: around 5 minutes walking distance to Sensoji Temple, numerous places to eat nearby, and the best of all, barely a stone's throw away from Don Quijote Asakusa! The Ginza line is roughly 10-minute walk to the hotel, and there is a closer train station though not as used as the Tokyo Metro. The rooms are relatively ok as far as rooms in Tokyo go, and staff is very courteous, polite and helpful. We had the hotel breakfast, and these are good too: I especially love the morning curry, which became my addiction for the remainder of our stay. Breakfast is a mix of Japanese and continental and they change it enough so that it's still nice even if you eat there for a few consecutive days. All in all great place to stay, awesome staff, good food and superb location! Will definitely book again…
This hotel was great, friendly staff, clean, and in a great location. Was easy to walk everywhere we needed. Great price too ! Very close to main attractions and transportation the temple is literally a 5 minute walk away and all the Izakaya are across the road.
Usually stay at Richmond Premier next door but as it was fully booked decided to try the Richmond since it has also gotten good reviews. Unfortunatly there were some problems. The first thing we noticed was how stuffy and humid the room was. In summer sure, but in the middle of winter? At first we tried the aircon, opened the window, but the stuffiness and humidity would not go away. It was almost hard to breathe and i was getting a headache. The windows were constantly fogging up and dripping with condensation. So we went down to reception to ask about it and i will say that they had a good and helpful attitude, however their only suggestion in the end was to go up and wipe down the windows with a towel. 2 min later they of course fog up again because the problem is with the air/ventilation in the room. The toilet also had a smell like cigarettes. There were some other minor lacklustre things and i was surprised because Richmond Premier has the best and most professional staff. Anyway we won't be returning to Richmond Asakusa.…
My second time in this hotel and it keeps exceeding my expectations. Staff is really friendly and helpful and speak perfect English. And they go beyond the extra mile to impress. Lady, I wish I had gotten your name, I tried, but my sight is not good and I couldn’t read your name in the tag. All I know is she speaks Spanish. I had a late flight and left my luggage in the hotel for a few hours. I asked how to get to Narita, expecting a brief explanation, and she started explaining every detail and I said I would get the maps later on. She left a note in the luggage with the maps. It was very thoughtful of her. Like every hotel and hostel in Japan, rooms come with an assortment of amenities like shampoo (not that little sample thing), fabric refresher spray, etc. Products were all of good quality (body soap does not leave hands dry). Location is really good and Asakusa is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Tokyo. Bed is very comfortable, and towels are fluffy. Room has plenty space, including the bathroom - which is a rare thing in Tokyo. I just don’t understand how come my non-smoking room costs more than a smoking room. …
Richmond hotel is in a great location with lots of activities surrounding us. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the laundrette as an added bonus for us. The rooms are clean and tidy. The bathroom could do with a a little freshening up and wish we had a safe in our room but would definitely recommend the hotel for people looking for easy access with a bit of culture. Great location during New Years as all the surrounding shops were still open due to the temple unlike other locations in Tokyo.
