It's a nice place, walking distance to the station. Sugamo station is great because it's on the Yamanote line so you can easily access anywhere in Tokyo. There's also the subway which gives more travel options. Jizo Dori shopping street is very close to the hotel, some good options for shopping and good restaurants around. Komeda coffee is also nearby, and a great place for breakfast. The staff was very friendly. You should know this is not a serviced hotel, so they will not make up the room. But they do change towels if you request. Wifi worked ok, shower pressure was good, the coin-operated laundry was handy. Cons: I don't know if all their rooms are smoking, but when I booked smoking was the only available. I don't smoke but I thought it would be ok, it was very smelly though. But then I asked the reception and they gave me some anti-odour spray and it solved the problem.…
In room you have all you need. The room is small, but overall in Japan it's much comfortable than in other hotels. Just 5 minutes walk from JR and subway stations. Very good location. In room you have everything you need to prepear food. Good, helpfull stuff.
I have been to Japan several times for business and mostly stayed in the Shinjuku area. This time however, it was a family trip with my daughter and son and I was looking for a decent hotel with a good price. This Flexstay fit my requirements very well, close to the Sugamo train station and located in a quiet residential neighborhood, it allowed me to experience Japan in a very different way compared to my previous visits. There are many shops located near by, specially mochi shops where they make fresh cakes every day. The room was basic but clean and comfortable, with a small fridge and an induction plate, which allowed us to make breakfast. I stayed for 4 nights and would go back there again on my next visit.
Appropriate for short stay with the peaceful and comfortable room. As usual a budget friendly business hotel. The staffs were responsive and helpful. The amenities were good however the wifi was not upto the mark.
Easy business style hotel for short stay. Around 15 - 20 mins by walk to JR Sugamo station, but convenient to go Ikebokura or station along Yamanote line. Quiet during nights but safe, hotel is surrounded by residential buildings, not much restaurant available during mid-night. Coin-laundry and automatic machines are available. Rooms are clean and standard size in Tokyo. In-room wifi is available, and can have non-smoking floor. However, there is a stair with 20 steps at the entrance, where wheelchair is not convenience to access.
It's very close to seven-eleven store, just next door here. Not so huge space, but it's enough to sleep at bed. Staff is very good, nice, tidy and smile. Just ten mins from Sugamo station in Yamanote Line. It's four points because it increase price from before not too good value for money
Rather traditional business hotel. The room is clean and not so small. They have free Wifi, but the connection is not so good. I had to log in every 30 minutes or so. The location is convenient: 5-7 minutes' walk from Sugamo Station of JR or Toei Mita Line. You can go everywhere, Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara, Ueno, etc. within 20 minutes by JR (one-day tickets are available for 750 yen at any JR station). You can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of old town around this area.
I stayed here 4 years ago and again last week. The rooms have improved, amenities and accommodations have been freshened up since Flex Stay has absorbed this property. Only a ten minute walk to the train station, a "100 Yen" store along the way, and an excellent mom and pop restaurant around the corner, NEXT to the Pizza Hut. Chef used to cook for diplomatic crowd, The springtime takenoko (bamboo shoot) dish was worth the visit! Reception is only staffed during day hours but able to receive and respond to your needs. Laundromat on site. Neighborhood is residential for the most part. A 7/11 at corner. Price is comparable to AirBnB's in the area... and a whole lot better eg. mattress beds, own bathroom, minimal cooking facilities with fridge. (tip: buy pre-cooked rice at 100 Yen store then just cook your veg and fish to go with it!)…
The hotel has a small bath tub and shower, separated washing sink, tiny fridge, portable electricity hot plate, kettle, pot, mug, slippers and robe. If you are like me and you don't have cel phone, computer or tablet you'll need to go to an internet café because the hotel doesn't have any computer in the hall. There is one internet café on the right side of the station but it is not easy to find because it is in the 4th floor of the building and the nootice board is in japanese and once you find t it is very hard to understand how it works. Nobody speaks any english. It is located 5 minutes away from the JR Yamanote Sugamo station (from there it's just six station to either Ueno or Shinjuku and a mere 2 to Ikebukuro) and the subway Mita line, meaning you got excellent access to the city. You have many convenience stores around and even a 24h supermarket close to the JR Station. The main shopping street nearby is the old ladyes paradise but it also means that you can find some affordable souvenirs. I would definitely stay there again.…
if you are looking for a quiet, safe and budget place to stay in Tokyo, Flex Stay inn at Sugamo will suit your desire. You can walk 5 min to JR Yamanote line Sugamo station or Mita Metro line. Sugamo is very convenient place to go to Ueno direcion or to Ikebukuro and Shibuya direction. There are plenty of resturants around station and on the main street. The facilty in the hotel is good for long stay. Have small bath tub and shower, separated washing sink, tiny fridge, portable electricity hot plate, kettle, pot, mug, slippers. Washing and drying machine using coins are provided in separate room.
