Disgusting hotel, The room smelled like sewers, On the same day I complained to the employee to check the possibility of an exchange, he just gave me air purifier 🤮 The toilet was smelling of old urine. I left the window open, but the stench continued
This Hotel is not bad. The price is quite expensive with minimum standard. the room is small, the bed is queen size. One thing that is amazed me is the toilet. It's efficient and functional. I love it.
I noticed quite alot of tiny little ants in the room. They would crawl on the walls, on the table, under towels, on the bed. I checked out of this hotel for this reason and was verbally told there is no refund policy for checking out early.
The rooms are small, but we'll designed I found it manageable. Clean and quiet... and there is a safe in the rooms, rare in this price range. Everything worked, WiFi was fixed when they promptly brought a router to my room. Breakfast is a bit weak, especially in actual fruit...but many convenience stores nearby. Halls are open air, so in cool weather some might not like that. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Rooms with almost no daylight are depressing. The double bed (really comfortable and big) takes literally all the space in the room. It is good for very short stay with little or medium luggage. The best was the bathroom - surprisingly big and comfortable! Rooms with almost no daylight are depressing. The double bed (really comfortable and big) takes literally all the space in the room. Great if you're on a budget, but not so much that you want a capsule hotel. Decent amenities, hot shower, strong a/c. Perfect when you know that you're only on the hotel to shower and sleep. The place looks like it's seen some years so I didn't mind a bit of wear and staining. You get what you pay for at this location.
The location good enough, just 10-15 minutes walk to JR Ueno station (Iriya Exit). The interesting place near the hotel are Ueno Park, Ameyokocho Market, and everyones' favourite : Ichiran Ramen and Yoshinoya. There are also some convenience store near the hotel. Room a little bit small, but still can open big luggage inside the room (i stay with my wife and son). Room and bathroom also very clean, but no bathtub. If you bring children over 5 years old, they will charge you 2000 Yen per night, and this is made me a little bit disapointed. But for the other things, this hotel is good enough, including the staff.
The room is clean but very small. Not much space to move around and to place your luggage. Toilet is very nice. I like their shampoo. The hotel is 5 minute walk from Ueno station. Staff were professional and helpful. Overall the hotel is clean.
I booked this Ueno Hotel because they offer a good rate for my budget however I would not stay in this hotel again you could get better accomodations nearby Ueno with better ambiance. The rooms are cramped and the hotel is on the a bit outdated. What pissed me off is during the check-in there were Chinese tourists in front of me taking too much time and makes so much fussed. I was there and the non of the front office staff wants to attend to me. Had to stand there for about half an hour just because they were attending the Chinese tourists in front of me. I would like to change to another hotel but I've paid full thru Booking.com. I feel like I'm staying in China not in Tokyo as many Chinese tourists stays here... overcrowded and noisy.
Highs: Close to the station 7min walk if you know you’re way around Clean rooms Friendly staff More international atmosphere Cons: May be difficult to find if you don’t know your way around or have google maps open So I usually stay at the Sunroute, but this trip the Sunroute was way too expensive for what it is. So I tried this place out. Was very pleased. It’s basic and the rooms are very small by American standards, but the value is unbeatable. The other guests seemed to have a more international vibe as well. I speak Japanese but heard staff speaking English to people very well. Sometimes this can be an issue at Japanese business hotels that cater to Japanese business men staying out late or on work travel as they don’t speak very good English. This hotel is also right next to my friends house and I will be staying here again!…
