Room small but expected. Location to Shinjuku station is fantastic. Staff lovely. Room was unbearably hot even with the climate control being on as low as it could be, so I requested a fan for my room and it was brought up almost immediately. Lawsons downstairs and 7/11 just down the street. Airport Limo bus drops off and picks up from the New Keio Hotel which is just around the corner, so rather than lugging your luggage to Shinjuku and then on the Narita Express, consider the bus for either Narita or Haneda airports. If you don't plan on spending much time in your room, this is an affordable and very decent option. I'd have no hesitation staying here next time.

The short walk to Shinjuku station and direct train/bus to the airport and rest of the city makes the location very good. The rooms are small and we were a big group that found fairly poor cleanlyness in some of the rooms. The rooms are small but have what you need. The price more or less reflects what you get.

We have stayed in Shinjuku and across Japan numerous times. This is the worst hotel by far. The bathroom smelt like sewerage for the entire stay, the room layout did not maximize the minimum amount of space, there was hardly room for our luggage, staff are not very helpful, they do not offer any assistance with shuttles, the rooms were not clean and the bedding appeared old, worn and dirty. The good parts are the location (although next time I’d pay more the Kieo Plaza) and the fresh towels provided by house keeping each day (even when the do not disturb sign was on). By far the WORST part was the rooms on level 7 appeared to be rented “by the hour”. Women were constantly coming and going at all hours of the day, dropping and picking up keys. We know this as we couldn’t get a good nights sleep due to the terrible mattresses and pillows.

Spent 7 nights at Kadoya after arriving from Tokyo Disney Resort The most positive attribute about this hotel is its close proximity to Shinjuku station, shopping (including the Yodobashi Camera store with a catchy tune that is now stuck in my head) and numerous restaurants that serve yummy food. Positives -very polite staff -self serve laundry room on the 3rd floor -coin operated laundry machines - there are two washing machines (the cost is 300 yen per load) and two dryers (the cost is 200 yen per load) -the electric wall outlet is the same as the North American one so we did not need to use our adapter -provided slippers, nightgown, toothbrushes, razors, body towel, fold up comb, shampoo, conditioner, body wash -staff held our luggage prior to check in as we arrived prior to check in time -staff held our luggage after we checked out prior to leaving for Narita airport -close to Shinjuku Airport Limousine bus stop #23 where we caught the bus to Narita airport -front desk staff provided extra hangers when I requested more hangers for the closet -Lawson's store located to the left of Kadoya and another Lawson's across the street (convenient to purchase snacks and drinks) -internet connectivity good -booked a Triple Room (three single beds) which can be a challenge to find at a reasonable price (I searched many hotels in Tokyo) -mini fridge in the room -a microwave can be found in the 3rd floor Laundry Room along with vending machines and an ice machine -restaurant on site (Cafe La Voie) - Note: bring your coat if it is during the winter months - since the restaurant is beside the hotel and accessible through a door to the hotel I thought it would be warm in the restaurant - I was sadly mistaken and the restaurant was freezing!) Negatives -advertised that they provided free mineral water 1 bottle per guest - we didn't receive any during our stay -nightgowns were provided most nights but not all -no in room safe -upon arrival the shower curtain smelled awful - requested that it be changed and front desk staff provided a new shower curtain although it was smaller than it should be (a new properly sized shower curtain was provided the following day) -pillow flat and uncomfortable (there is pillow rental available but there were never soft pillows whenever I checked) -bed hard as a rock -noisy location - could hear lots of sirens and drunk people throughout the evening and overnight -not as clean as it could be

This was our first time at the Kadoya but the 8th time staying in Shinjuku. The price and location were fantastic. We will definitely stay again. Internet included. Spacious rooms (especially for Tokyo standards). We had breakfast at the Pronto opposite the hotel each day. Lawsons right next door. Just a few minutes walk to the Shinjuku train station. Staff were helpful. Highly recommended.

The location is good, minutes away from eateries and jr station and there are convenience shops nearby. But that is it. The room is not really clean eg dusty walls. The pillows are flat and I had to pay extra for another pillow. Even drinking water is not replenished. Every night I would hear sirens, not sure if they were from police or ambulance, thus I would suggest light sleepers to think twice before staying here. On the day I checked out I asked the reception to call a cab for me but was told to hail a cab from the street myself. It was raining that day and there is no sheltered place outside this hotel to hail a cab.

Booked a room for 4 nights and thought the hotel is a good one but turn out to be a teribble experience. the staff are unhelpful, dirty room, need to rent pillows if not you will have to sleep on flat pillows. Room is small and floor and wall ate mouldy. Informed them but nothing is done. Glad to finally check out and need a taxi, told us to flag ourselves. very bad hotel with no benefits and customer service except location to trains. Will nit stay again as it is so different from their website. Kind of felt cheates. Not worth the price.

We booked a double room as we have a toddler with us. The hotel is strict with their check in time 3pm. We arrived early about 12pm and told to leave our luggage and come back at 3pm. As hotel is located conveniently, we walked to Takashimaya for lunch. Double room is quite small not much walking room but has a bathtub in toilet which my toddler love. The king size bed we slept in was horrible and in need of replacement. I can feel the springs on my back when i turn my body. we stayed Room 805. also no wardrobe/cabinet - only two hanging hooks to hang our clothes jackets location is fantastic as i stayed here last year in a twin room (much better beds) 5 min walk to Shinjuku Station area and lotsa restaurants and yamada labi ... so we can head for shopping come back to rest and head out again. one reason we chose this place is also near to Nippon Car rental which was about 7 mins walk away. We rented a car to get out to Karuizawa area. we also took a Keio train to Tama-Center station for Sanrioland. location is great Price for rooms are reasonable but don't expect much.

Stayed in Kadoya Hotel for 7 nights during our trip to Japan for 2 of us. The room is clean and and of comfortable size. Many restaurants, cafes and 24 hours Lawson and 7-11 just 2mins walk from the hotel. There is a cafe cum restaurant in the hotel itself on the ground level. As for the direction to the hotel, we took a train from Narita Airport and upon arriving at Shinjuku station, head for the WEST exit ( sign will also indicates Met. Government ) It will lead you to a linkway. Walk till you see a signage showing S3 on your left side. Goes up the staircase and you will reach the ground level. Walk straight for about 60m,the hotel is on your right. ( the Post Office is located on the left ) From the hotel to the Shinjuku station, it will takes about 7 mins walk. On the day when we are leaving, we took a limousine bus from Keio Plaza hotel to the airport. ( the bus serves both Narita and Haneda Airport ) Keio Plaza is just 3 mins behind Kadoya. If we will to visit Shinjuku again, we will stay at Kadoya.

I might have came with too high an expectations for a Tokyo hotel. After all, they had claimed to be a business hotel of certain standards. Having been to Japan before, I was expecting immaculate services and squeaky clean hotel. The room was slightly old and small, it was not filthy, but I was disappointed in how the daily cleaning had been done. I came back daily to find my clean clothes I had folded on my bed strewn either on the chair, or casually tossed on top of my closed luggage (my luggage exterior was obviously quite dirty). There was hardly walking space after the luggage is open, no wardrobe, no safe in room, pretty much the expected single room size of Tokyo. Two hangers on the wall to hang clothes was not quite enough for me. Carpet was dusty unfortunately. Bed was comfortable. The only pillow was soft and flat, which theoretically I could have asked for extras but did not bother to because the service staff behind the counter were tad rude or maybe they just have a severe case of headache. Toilet was small and came with a bath tub, no grout thankfully though there was a stale smell that wouldn't go away. I realised on my final night how to spot if a room is occupied or not to my horror, which I find a bit of a security flaw. I witnessed first hand how they've always said Japan has a very hierarchical working environment when I saw how the chambermaids were being spoken to by some of the colleagues in their shiny black suits. I felt so bad. I might not stay here for future trips, unless I need to stay at somewhere super convenient again. I can't pinpoint what exactly made me feel this way but I guess it was a combination of unhappy angsty staff, seeing my folded clean clothes strewn around every evening when I get back, the claustrophobic toilet, not very responsive aircon. Or maybe I should just adjust my expectations for Tokyo hotels.
