This was our first time in Tokyo and although we usually stay in airbnb's when we travel, we decided to go with a hotel for this trip and couldn't have been happier with this place. It is very well centralized, only about a mile from the main (10-15 min walk) hub of Shinjuku station. There is also a train stop for some stops about half a block away from the hotel. The walk from the main station was a bit confusing the first time but with google maps and a taking a trip or two we were able to quickly find our bearings and navigate the walk easily. The walk to the hotel is also a good way to soak in a slice of busy downtown Tokyo, with food, bright lights, and people everywhere. The hotel is a bit set back from the action, which was nice for us with two kids and offered a bit of respite from the business. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful and spoke English, which was great since we don't speak Japanese. The lobby was clean and spacious. The room had two full sized beds, a small couch with a TV. Fair warning, the room was tight but cozy. There wasn't much extra space. It was compact but we never felt crammed. The highlight of the room, for me, was the bathroom. The heated toilet seats with badet! The bathroom took up about half of the square footage of the whole room. Excessive? Maybe. But worth the experience. The shower is not a traditional American shower but is a small room with a mesh matted floor and a shower head. There was no tub. It was new for us. Right outside of the hotel, there was chain ramen shop, a 7/11 (huge and amazing in Tokyo), coffee shops, a small shopping center, and other restaurants. A farther walk (~10 minutes), in the direction of the train station, puts you in the middle of it. Here you'll find "Memory Lane" with it's delicious Yakitori and cool atmosphere. All in all, the location was ideal, the room was clean and comfortable, and it was well priced. If I'm lucky enough to be back in Tokyo, I would definitely stay here again.…
Pro: Great location, only 5 mins to the Nishi-Shinjuku train station. Friendly staff Surrounded with convenient shops and foods. Con: Room was stuffy due to Hotel management does not allow to adjust the room air-conditioner temperature. Hotel staff claimed that wintertime will automatically control by management building and advise us to open the window to let the cool airflow in. We did not open the window because the glass window was big without grill and without any safety latch which is so dangerous for families and kids. (P/S: Disneyland Hotel and Mystay Hotel in Osaka - Air-con do allow us to adjust the air-conditioner temperature)
Very good hotel Very clean Staffs are very polite and beautiful View is good Place is near nishi shinjuku station and also near of shinjuku city of tokyo. There is 3 convinience stores around this place. 1min walk from train station is very convinience
There seem to be so few hotels that accommodate families, but this quadruple hit the ticket. While the furniture was dated, it was in a great location and clean. Staff were very helpful as well. Yes, it is on a large street and a fire house is nearby. Lots of places to grab a cheap and quick breakfast (7-11, or FamilyMart).
Staying at the Hotel Rose Garden wasn't bad, but there were some pros and cons. Pros: Near Shinjuku station & entertainment district, nearby convenience stores, friendly staff Cons: Hearing Police/Ambulance sirens every day/night (police station nearby), room average, washroom toilet not functioning There was construction nearby (possibly preparing for the Tokyo 2020 olympics) which was a turnoff. At least going to 7-11, Family Mart, or Lawson's to grab a quick bite was a positive (Japan 7-11's is better than than the North American ones). Overall it was not bad, but will find a more peaceful and quieter hotel nearby,
Stayed 9 nights at the Hotel Rose Garden during the recent RWC. Although the room wasn't big it was clean and tidy quiet and a good bolthole at the end of long days. Sampled the breakfast on three occasions, it was OK, but bacon and eggs is not a Japanese food preferred the offerings at 7-11 The staff were courteous and helpful at all times. It is within walking distance of the train station and all that the varied and colourful Shinjuku area has to offer, which is a great deal. This is good hotel
We stayed here for 5 nights for the end of April. The hotel staff were welcoming and polite and the room was good for what we paid, however people should be aware that the bathroom (at least the one we stayed in) had no ventilation and the associated smell was not good. There were building works taking place outside our window which didn't affect us as we were out during day hours. The location was great and very close to Shinjuku station without the noise. Staff were helpful and gave directions/instructions when asked. Highly recommend choco cro for their croissants and coffee for a quick breakfast in the morning. Size is on parr for most places in Tokyo.
Excellent attitude of the staff Help with scheduling the trips Every day arrange the days places and transportation Good breakfast in the morning makes us also western eggs upon our request The room was clean
Stayed here for 3 nights in a room on the 7th floor of the annex. Good location, close to everything. The room was actually a decent size for Tokyo, but half the room was taken up by a massive round table, which was completely random and not needed. All the usual amenities, including a fridge. At reception, they had free cosmetics, such as face masks, which was a nice touch. The staff spoke enough English to get by, but weren’t overly forthcoming with advice etc. For example, we were here during the typhoon, and it would have been nice to get some proactive conversation. Because of the aforementioned typhoon, and not being able to go out, we ate in the Garden Restaurant attached to the hotel for lunch. The menu was confusing and none of the staff spoke any English to help, which I thought was odd for this sort of hotel. Prices on the expensive side for what it was, but the food was nice. Would stay again. …
Made reservation for double bed room (2 big beds room written on the site) On arrival received room with only 1 small bed. (stay with a 2 Yr old baby) No help received from staff, they blame everything on the travel agency and except from a phone call to the agency they did nothing. Also maintenance of room not good. Very small double bed (1.2meter wide). Old everything (lamps, mattress, toilet furniture). Highly not recommanded even for short stay
