It is a budget hotel despite the name. The plus point is the underway passageway that connects the hotel to shinjuku station. It is especially helpful during bad weather. Also, the direct limousine bus that stops in front of the hotel is really helpful to reach either Narita or Haneda airport. There is also a convenience store in the same building. The minus point would be, unlike a business hotel, there is no coin laundry and microwave. The room is very small with a very small window. Although I got some problems during my stay, the staff, especially the GE tried their best to make my stay comfortable. I want to applaud the way they handle complaints by quickly improving their service (by briefing the whole staff?) to avoid the same mistake/inconvenience. But it was such a pity that Takahashi, the female staff handling limousine bus ticket on 26th Sept at 10am cannot deliver such quality. When I asked her to be more helpful by offering another way instead of refusing to help, she argued with me in front of all the guests, and it took time for me to make her stop because it was an embarrassing sight. I am pretty sure such thing wont happen if I speak Japanese. Since japan will open it's border soon, I think not only in Japanese, but speaking politely using formal English instead of being mad like a child when handling foreigners is necessary. I believe that this hotel could improve much better. In fact, other than Takahashi, all the staff are working so hard and so polite to all the guests, so I gave 4 stars to thank them for the hospitality during my stay. Thank you…
The location is perfect. There are subway stops nearby as well. This hotel was about 5-10 minutes walk to the shops/ restaurants of Shinjuku. Having said that there are also a number of restaurants within a couple of hundred meters ( including those in the basement). We enjoyed strolling down to the craziness of Shinjuku main, but it is still super close to great sites such at the Tokyo metropolitan goverment building. We stayed, for 3 nights and found it more than good. We booked a double room and had space for both our suitcases to be open. While the bathroom is small, the water pressure was good and the toiletries were of good quality.
Stayed here for 10 days in a small room but to be honest, it had all of the facilities I required. There was a shop in the receiption area which came in handy. I got caught out with the drinks fridge. I kept using the same drink (taking it out of the fridge and placing it back) which menat that I was charged for a few cansof coke!! All sorted in receiption though. Place was clean and staff friendly. Across the road is a McDonalds and a 'English' pub where you can buy fish & chips at a good price.
This is a very long overdue review from my stay of New Year Jan 2020 Location This hotel is right in the business side of Shinjuku and well placed. Great shops just below and main floor, theres convenient store open 24/7 and restaurants within. Walking distance and easy access to Buses, train stations and yes Shopping Centres. Just outside a short walk is the Shinjuku National Park, as well as the Tokyo Metropolitan Building, and Cocoon Tower. Not to mention just short distance to all local or typical Japanese eatery, where local eats and some are open for breakfast if you want to eat like locals. And the price is reasonable. Rooms The rooms are typically of Japanese small size, not like your typical Hotel Chains. I booked a single room so I am not sure what its like for double bed. The room is very clean and well maintained. Staff Very friendly staff and very well accomodating. They will make sure you are comfortable with your stay. Overall, I had a great stay at this hotel and would i recommend it? Definitely I would recommend this Hotel very highly. Clean, staff is friendly and hospitable, convinient location to Bus, Train stations and shops. The price is budget friendly and affordable for my 4 nights of stay. Theres also a bus that will take you to Narita or Haneda. The only thing I would recommend for improvement is that the reception lobby is on 3rd Floor, and if you arrive late night or midnight, you will have to find the reception since no one available at the main lobby or the information centre is close.…
I've stay just off the entertainment side Kabukicho Shinjuku before and also on the quieter west side, ie Shinjuku Washington Hotel and I find the later much better. This was the 2nd time I stayed here and I would stay here again if I visit Tokyo. Reception is on the 3rd floor with multi racial staff and automated counters so checking in and out was a breeze. Room was small as expected but clean and compact. Within walking distance from the Shinjuku station and Kabukicho area, Shinjuku Gyoen National garden. Loads of restaurants and shops around, including several on the ground and basement floor. Has the airport bus right at its doorstep for about 3000+ yen.
it's accessible to the train station and to the most shopping centers. but their room is less than 5 square meters, very squeeze, ventilation no good, I can hardly breathe. and the double bed is so small. the toilet is clean but very small. end of the day, good for a night or two stays.
This hotel was chosen as it was close to Shinjuku station, great shops, easy access to bus, trains taxi etc. The rooms were small, we travelled with 2 teenage kids so they were in their own room on the same floor. The rooms had no where to store luggage, except for a small sitting area near window. The bathroom was small with toilet included. The bed has hard and the pillows were terrible. I asked for 2 extra pillows and they only would give 1 extra pillow.. how bazaar. Personally use this hotel for a quick stay. The room is stuffy and the AC wasn't working the best even though we were there in winter. Don't go to the cafe at hotel as it is expensive and the coffee average. Walk around and try various cafes which are much cheaper. Also 800 degrees pizza restaurant delicious at the station. Try a few of the eateries around Shinjuku station. Your visit to Tokyo must include an OWL cafe, Borderless Lab, Diver City Plaza Tokyo and Venus Fort shopping centre!…
Shinjuku Washington hotel is a good budget hotel that's conveniently located. It's clean but rooms are very small and pillows uncomfortable, so much so that I could barely sleep. I would not be staying in it again as I'd rather pay 2x the price and get a much better room and sleep.
This hotel is in the Government district so probably best for business people. Family of 4 needed two rooms, that were on the same floor but not close to each other AT ALL :( Cigarette smoke also a major problem due to establishment next door to reception. Yes hotel is close to Shinjuku Station but we found Subway Station E28 Tochomae very handy. Hotel super close to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings Observation Deck (45th floor) which is worth the visit.
Shinjuku Washington hotel located in the nishi-shinjuku area which take about 10 minutes (800 meters) walk from Shinjuku station. The room is quite big compared with other in this price range hotel in Shinjuku area. The lobby stand at the 3rd floor if the building, on the 1st floor and Underground floor of the building provided you many type of restaurants and convenience store. And also able to walk to Koshu-Kaido Ave. which is the area where Japanese salary man in the area hang out. The hotel also provide the airport limousine service to both Haneda and Narita airport. The bus stop is right at the main entrance hotel which is easy for everyone to travel to the airport.
