This hotel is in an excellent location, about as close as you can be to the Yamanote line. It's easy to access the rest of the city. The Internet access, air conditioning, and overall comfort at the hotel are great. There are no amenities in the hotel, but everything you really need is available and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.

We stayed here a few days while in Tokyo. The room was very nice, bed comfortable, services great. They have everything you need if you've forgotten it. The staff are very helpful with directions and such. There is no breakfast included but it is connected with the Denny's restaurant.

I stayed for several nights on a business trip, and the hotel was clean, comfortable, with excellent wi-fi. It is conveniently located right above the Komagome station, but there was no noise or disturbance. There is a Denny's restaurant where breakfast is offered, which was okay. My favorite part, though, was the staff. They helped me with directions, printing out google maps, and making sure I understood. Also when I needed some paper to wrap little gifts, they provided gift bags, all with a smile. I would recommend this hotel as an excellent choice.

I stayed at this property from December 29 2015 - January 4 2016. Having previously stayed at Hotel Mets Shibuya last year, I was keen on staying at a Hotel Mets chain again for my winter trip as the chain's hotels are all attached to train stations which allowed us to access train stations easily. I have no complaints about my stay and will summarize my compliments into the following categories: 1) Food: Our stay-plan included free breakfast at the Denny's restaurant on the 2nd floor. Denny's Japan IS AWESOME. The food was great (amazing scrambled eggs) and we were delighted to have warm food in our systems before traveling around the city in winter every morning. There are also many restaurants within a 2-min walk from the hotel, eg. McDonalds, KFC, Watami, etc. 2) Room: The room was of standard Japanese business hotel size. Small but cozy. Well furnished and clean. Comfy bed. Although the hotel is attached to Komagome train station, the room was soundproof and we did not hear any noises from the road/trains outside. 3) Location: Hotel is attached to Komagome Station (Yamanote Line), which is 3 stations away from Ikebukuro Stn. and halfway between Shibuya and Tokyo Stations on the Yamanote Line. Allowed us easy access around Tokyo. The picturesque Rikugien Gardens is a 10-min walk away from the hotel. 4) The staff gave us a Japanese tea kit each on January 1 2016 in celebration of the New Year. Thank you!!…

The hotel is directly connected to JR Komagome Station (Yamanote Line). A good thing is it's a small station and not hectic like Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, etc. The room is clean and tidy, equiped with comfortable bed and air cleaner made by SHARP. Surprisingly quiet in spite of the proximity to the railway station. But the breakfast served at the in-hotel cafe tasted awfully. It's much better to pick up food from bakeries and convenience stores in the neighborhood. A nearby public garden (Rikugien) is tranquil and good for stroll. It's open 9-17h.

I reserved this hotel via JR's package plan with train.The price was comparatively cheap but my staying was great experience. The condition of bed and pillow were excellent. Accommodation and the bathroom were very practical.The room was also easy to open a suitcase. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was good.Bit sadly dinner was not good.Because it was 'family restaurant'style.But it was not huge problem because the hotel is directly connected with train station so I went to Ueno station and found good restaurants and 'packed dinner(lunch box enough to have as dinner)'.I bought nice lunch box at the station.

Hotel Mets was a nice place to stop in Tokyo. If the geographic location works for you then this hotel is very convenient right at the train station. The room was decent in size and the air conditioning was very strong. Bathrooms were nice and they provided great bath salts for each person. The hotel could not accommodate the three of us in one room so we needed two. The smoking floor smelled strongly of smoke even in the hallway. The non smoking floor was fine. If you have concerns with cigarette smoke do not choose a room on a smoking floor. The coin laundry worked perfectly. For those who can't read the Japanese instructions the washing machine takes two 100 yen coins for a normal wash and three 100 yen coins if you want the soap to be added automatically. The Denny's breakfast was a little disappointing but was acceptable and fast. The pink lemonade was actually a soda so don't be surprised. Convenience stores and a great bakery are right there. We found an amazing restaurant very close specializing in healthful and local foods. There is no English menu but the owner should be able to help you decide. http://www.nourish.co.jp/…

We've been to Tokyo many times and we usually like to stay at JR hotels - the reason is that these hotels are conveniently located next to JR train stations, often at less-busy stations than places like Shinjuku or Tokyo station, and they are very reasonably priced for a hotel in central Tokyo. Even though it's located next to the station, you don't hear the trains at all in the hotel, so don't worry about noise. The Hotel Mets Komagome connected by a covered street-level walkway to the JR Komagome station, on the JR Yamanote Line. From here it's a 9 min train ride to Ueno, 18 min to Tokyo station, or 15 min in the other direction to Shinjuku. Yamanote line trains come about every 3 minutes. So although the Komagome area itself probably doesn't have much to offer to most tourists, it's convenient to get anywhere from here on the Yamanote line, and quite a bit less stressful than staying near one of the busy stations (cheaper too). Within the covered walkway between the station and the hotel and also directly across the street are two convenience stores, both of which are open late. We booked a "Single room for 2 people" which included breakfast. The room was slightly larger than a typical business hotel in Japan (but still small by western standards). Clean and comfortable. Likewise the bathroom was slightly larger and slightly more nicely fitted than a typical Japanese business hotel. Shower water-pressure was very good - something I miss in most hotels. The extra towel rack over the tub and the small additional shelf over the bathroom counter were nice features, considering most Japanese hotel bathrooms are so tiny. Free wi-fi and wired internet in the room. However, one small thing - for wi-fi, you have to plug in a small wi-fi router provided in the hotel room (see photo). This uses up one of the only two AC plugs on the desk. This means if you want to use wi-fi while charging several other devices, you might run out of AC plugs - not very business-traveller friendly! Luckily I brought my short 2-prong extension cord to plug multiple chargers into the lone available plug. There is one other AC plug by the bedside table, but none others anywhere in the room. For the included-breakfast we received coupons for the Denny's restaurant which is located in the same building on the 2nd floor, across the hall from the front desk. You get a choice of three items from a set menu (see photo) - some western and some Japanese selections. Portions are small, unlike what you might be familiar with from a Denny's in North America. Staff at Denny's didn't speak English, but it was easy to order via the picture-menu. We stayed 5 nights at this hotel, so after just a couple days the breakfast menu got boring, but hey - it was included with the room rate. Overall, a stress-free and comfortable stay, at a very good price for Tokyo. I highly recommend this or other JR Mets hotels at a smaller station on the Yamanote line like Komagome.…

This little room was compact but very clean. Although it stands over a train line and a subway line it is very quiet. I had an eco plan where they cleaned the room every other day but still provided daily towels, slippers, sleeping gowns, and personal toiletries. It also included breakfast at Denny's on the 2nd floor of the hotel. The staff spoke very limited English, but still was able to provide great service. The location was about 30 minutes from Tokyo but was on a major train line (JR Yamanote) which connected to every train line.

This is very much a business hotel with great connections to anywhere in Tokyo and further a field. Stayed in this hotel as a tourist which was okay as I had a local Japanese friend living nearby. If you want something simple, comfortable and hassle free this is the place to stay. Free wifi and all the other stuff you expect in Japan.
