I chose to stay here for my final night in Tokyo as the location is very easy for getting to Narita (Ginza line direct to ueno then the airport train from there) it’s also well located for everything else; Shibuya, Shinjuku, Tokyo station are all easily assessed from here. The staff were extremely courteous, helping me anyway they could. Really lovely and a real asset to this hotel. The room was a decent size (as it was just me) and was literally sparkling. I wanted to spend my last evening relaxing in my room due to a long flight the following day. The WiFi was super fast which allowed me to stream from Netflix on my phone with no problems. The only thing of note: it was cold! There is a heater but of course the remote is all in Japanese. Easily remedied by googling the remote for that particular air conditioner, and I had a lovely warm room in no time!…
Firstly, this hotel is probably the smallest I’ve ever stayed in. Everything from the lift to the corridors to all aspects of the room are on the small size. There’s a lot of ducking and head twisting involved whilst staying here, but that was no real problem. The bed was small, but comfortable and just long enough; the shower/bathroom was tiny yet hot and powerful; space was limited for luggage, but there was enough. The hotel seems to be pretty new and could not fault the cleanliness. The staff were very friendly, always managing to fit in an extra bow just before the elevator doors closed. Location wise, as there’s no real ‘central’ location in Tokyo we found this place perfect for us. And within a 5-10 minute walking distance of three metro stations. The surrounded area also has an array of joints to eat and a few pubs. On the second morning we also tried the breakfast at the hotel, which didn’t look that appealing but was surprisingly tasty. Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel to all, especially those on a lower budget.…
My wife and I had planned a 2 week vacation to Japan to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had our reservation (for 3 days) in Hotel Akasaka Urban and it was paid for.Unfortunately there was a warning for a super typhoon in Tokyo during the period of our stay, as per the Japanese Meteorological Agency. Due to this, we were forced to reschedule our vacation. We contacted the hotel and attempted to reschedule our reservation but we were informed that there are no rooms available. We requested them to give us a refund as we did not wish to risk landing in Tokyo during the typhoon (We were also worried that safety instructions would be in Japanese and we wouldn't be able to follow them in case if an emergency). However, the hotel refused us a refund stating that it was against their cancellation policy. All our other hotels in Japan either rescheduled our booking or gave us a refund. I am highly disappointed with Hotel Akasaka Urban for not taking into consideration the situation and charging us for all 3 nights. …
Found the hotel great for my needs. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was modern, clean and tidy. Is within walking distance to the metro which easily gets you around, as well as more eateries than you could possibly choose from. Staying back here within a week! Glad I found it
