What a disappointing visit we had to the Lough Erne Hotel for lunch. My boyfriend ordered a vegetarian carbonara but it came with meat in it and my gourmet burger was a pork burger (not stupilated on menu). My boyfriend enjoyed his veggie carbonara but my replacement burger came as he was finishing his meal. I couldnt eat my meal,...

Second time to visit and on a cold January day it was so cosy and peaceful... Not be mention the food. Open fires, deep armchairs, stunning views.. Hard to leave and return to the outside world. Looking forward to return already.

Good friendly welcome & warm open fires in the entrance hall & lounge, where we had refreshments followed later in the evening by a very nice meal served by friendly staff following a pleasant visit to the first class golf course

This is a really lovely hotel. I would look forward to return at any time. Unfortunately I was not there long enough to enjoy all the wonderful facilities. Stephen gave us the best welcome and guided us in every way he could. There was a difficult guest ahead of us and I admired his endless patience!!!. The bar food was...

We stayed 2 nights in a suite for a bit of added luxury during our stay. The suite was lovely with a fantastic 4 poster bed and lots of facilities. Some of these were a little tired. The whirlpool bath didn't seem to work and some of the furniture was loosing the odd bit of trim. The bed was really...

The hotel has an excellent setting, with the little lake, golf course and woods, but is clad in the rather grey uniform of concrete - a bit bleak and forbidding on the approach rather than impressive. Once through the doors, the decor seems to take a dive 100 years into the past, with gloomy wooded interior and on the corridors...

Four of us stayed here. I was using a voucher so had to upgrade to use it. I felt the quality of the room and the layout of the dining room was far below what expected for the price paid. The food was good but the presentation again did not compare with other hotels I use which at the same...

Me and my mother booked in to the lough Erne hotel for the first time in 9 years. The lough Erne hotel was known as one of thee best hotels in Fermanagh. Now this has totally changed! We arrived to a cold abandoned hotel with a car park full of glass and rubbish. We were the only residents in the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Lough Erne townhouse hotel is a little locally run 16 bedroom building with a small but key staff who deal with our guests on a daily level, providing a more personal service that certain guests love time and time again. The Hotel is situated in the heart of Fermanagh's lakeland on the banks of the Glendurragh River 1 mile from Lough Erne itself, a warm and friendly welcome awaits you on your arrival at the Lough Erne Hotel. Our Riverside lounge and Bridgewater restaurant offers an excellent choice of menu. Regular entertainment, weekend and midweek breaks throughout the year. The Lough Erne Hotel began life as a Royal Irish Constabulary barrack in 1862. It was built by the governors of the Vaughan Charity who then owned the village of Kesh. The building cost £650 and the police paid £30 per year for rent. A year after the barrack was built it was burnt down in an accidental fire. Some repairs were done immediately but further work was carried out in 1921. For example stabling for horses that was provided behind the hotel in what is now the Glendurragh Suite. One of the RIC officers stationed in Kesh, Constable McCormick, was a very famous boxer. In fact he once fought the British Heavyweight Champion, Billy Wells. Another local man, Bob Irwin, was also a famous boxer in those days, once beating the Welterweight champion of the Rhine Army. ... more   less
