Hotel, rooms, restaurant, staff... All top top top! And what an impressive winelist 👍 Ideal location to explore the Piemonte region and discover it’s exceptional terroir. Extra note... I had the privilige to have a sneak peak in the hotel’s ‘cantina’ with appx 1000 Barolo references

We spent three nights at Tota Virginia last week with some close friends. So this is a two-in-one review of both the hotel and the restaurant where we had dinner the first night, I’ve stopped writing reviews for any place that I find anything but top - I’d rather tell the establishment rather than the world if it was not up to a top standard. The hotel has stunning views of Barolo vineyards. The rooms are cosy and comfortable. Great breakfast spread. Above all, the owner, Riccardo, a truly elegant and soft spoken local, went out of his way to be hospitable. Not only did he reserve two top restaurants in Serralunga for our other two dinners, but he even had the courtesy to drive us there and back! How good is that! Dinner was superb. We had the 40-egg tajarin (pasta) with white truffle and the veal tartar with white truffle. Exquisite, and the best we had in our stay in Langhe. The sommelier suggested a 2006 Barbaresco Gallina from La Spinetta. It was so good, we had three bottles, and even visited the winery the next day. The 10-cheese platter was superb and varied. All in all, I can only praise and thank Riccardo and his staff for making our stay in Piedmont memorable.

This was our 2nd time staying at Tota Virginia and we actually planned our trip around their availability. We love the view from their terrace and their extensive wine selection. We drank the best Barolos on the terrace as we watched the sunset every evening. The room are comfortable and clean. The breakfast selection is wonderful with meats, cheese, breads, fruits, cereal, cakes, eggs cooked to order. The staff is very kind and helpful. We will stay here every time we are in Piedmont.

We have just departed after a wonderful week in the special care of Ricardo and his team. From the moment we met him in 2016 we knew this was to he our wedding venue. Ricardo is a hospitality professional, he is a person that genuinely cares and wants to see people happy. This comes across in all he and his team do. Every one of our guests who stayed and visited the property said how incredible it was. We are hoteliers and restaurateurs as are many of our friends. Every guest commented endlessly on the attention to detail, quality of the food, drink, wonderful service and how good the venue looked. Ricardo delivered everything and more he promised. We could not have had a more perfect week. We also met the couple who had their wedding the weekend prior and they were equally as happy. The rooms are modern with touches reflecting the heritage of the building. Care and attention had been paid to every detail. The rooms are well designed, clean and well maintained. The wine cellar at the hotel is incredible. The views exceptional and very member of staff kind and warm. Thank you Ricardo on behalf of my wife and I. You helped make our wedding very special.
