Mr. Pranneeth made me feel very uncomfortable, when I decide not to go in his Tuk Tuk for the price that we wanted. Then I found another tuk tuk for less than he was asking, and then he started texting me, rude texts saying that I caught a tuk tuk for the same price that he offer, which is not true. Just the fact of him texting me rude messages and think in his mind that I lied, its not an okay behaviour and made me feel really unsafe and uncomfortable.

I walked into Praneeths and asked for a room. I hadn't booked anything online, but wandering down the beach I grabbed a coffee in their patio/restaurant space and decided to stay. The price was great (3k), although initially they wanted an additional 1k to use the A/C. After chatting with the owner for a little bit and asking nicely, they threw in the A/C for my original cost, which made the stay waaay more comfortable! The family is super nice, and I didn't have any problems, I chatted with them a bit about Mirissa and Praneeth helped me figure out my way back to Colombo at the end of my stay. Food was tasty and extremely affordable. I grabbed meals down at the main beach a couple times, but had some late night food and snacks at the guesthouse, at half the cost elsewhere. The location is great, right on the beach and a few minutes walking to coconut hill. I appreciated the lack of people - the main beach was full, but the area by Praneeths had more than enough space to swim peacefully, and is only a short stroll from the main strip. The guesthouse is lovely and is well located , the “private” beach in front is very pleasant . The breakfast is good . Now let’s talk about the staff ; The lady is nice and very friendly but her husband (the owner) is rude and agressive with guest when he is drunk, then he put his music super loud and come to tell you about foreigners that left bad comment on his booking page or TripAdvisor and how much he hates them ... just avoid to see him when he is drunk and your holiday will be fine ! He should just let his wife running the place !

The guys here were so helpful! They organised a whale watching tour for us. The spot has so much character which is a welcome change from resort style places. It’s right on the beach- perfect for a dip when it’s too hot! Also, a fab breakfast and great WiFi!

If you want to stay on the beach this is right on it. Met the host on the beach and he showed us his guest house. Its basic but clean and comfy. Its family run, no A/C or hot water. The sunset from the front of the guest house is amazing everyday. Also you can rent a mask and snorkel and swim with turtles everyday. We saw 4 huge turtles in half an hour amazing.
