I didn't sleep there. I was just there for the cooking class with Madu and it was worth every single rupie (2500rps/ 15 euro). We did 6 different curries and Madu explained it very well, in a really good English! I learnd a lot about the most important spices and feel comopetent to do my own curry now :)

I liked it so much I returned for a second stay at Amarasinghe - three nights on each occasion. The guest house is located the other side of the main road from the beach and set amidst lovely tropical trees which the local monkeys enjoyed swinging through most mornings. It is a peaceful place to stay and yet within close...

I wish we had more than 1 meal here. It was so good. Curry sampler was amazing. My son loved his Mac and Cheese, excellent. Daughter got egg spaghetti, reminiscent of Pad Thai. She had to fight her dad off her plate. Had beer to top it all off. They need to be on Tripadvisor as a restaurant, not just...

As I didn't spend a night here I'm commenting only on the restaurant. Considering other places nearby they actually make an effort if you go there for dinner or breakfast. Yes, service is a bit slow and there is like 2 guys running the show and bossing the other servers/ guys working there which occasionally creates a mess. But still...

Firstly we had a few meals in the guest house and they were great. Amazing currys packed full of flavor. We were staying across the Rd at Peacock Villas. We each had a massage treatment at Amarasinghes spa, which were great. Though the massage tables were not the most comfortable when lying face down. I also booked in for a...

By accident we walked by this amazing restaurant and decided to eat our dinner there - and what a surprise! We ordered the vegetable rice & curry (for only 490 rp. each!) and it turned out to be the best rice & curry at our entire trip in Sri Lanka. My bf also ordered the chicken curry on the side...

We ate 7 times at this amazing outside restaurant and the food was always delicious. Try the 5 vegetable curries with rice for 290 rupies! It is fresh, delicious and the curries change everyday, so you can eat it anyday you like! :-)

Friendly people that serve really good food for a good price. There is an open kitchen, so you can observe how the food is made. Actually this was one of the better "western" food experiences during our 2 months asia travels!

We chose this guesthouse as my family are surfers and wanted to walk to a good surf spot, but also because it is on the edge of the forest and we wanted to see monkeys and wildlife. We were not disappointed!! The large monkeys come into the trees frequently, jumping about, shouting, and causing a lot of mess with the...

This is a small guest house , family run. I can't speak for the rooms but the garden restaurant rocks, a paved outdoor area you can see the food freshly cooked in front of you. This means their hygiene standards are tip top. I ate the veg curry almost every day. 5 small curries and rice. 290 Rps. Fish of...
