Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A convenient, reasonably priced hotel with very comfortable beds. A slight issue with a lack of hot water in the bedroom was swiftly resolved. If you are staying here and are looking for a special place to eat try Bramley, a short walk from the hotel. You won’t be disappointed!

The measure of an hotel or any hospitality business is the level of hospitality. A sad occasion on this past Friday as we bade farewell to a fine friend. Downcast we accepted the family’s invitation to join them at Abbeyleix Manor Hotel. From the first smiling welcome at the front door to the noticeably very ‘warm in temperature’ function room - service was impeccable. The genuine service ethic of the staff and respectful empathy towards the attendees was exemplary. Just what you need on a torrential day - perfect homemade soup and freshly cut tasty sandwiches. Soon the room was abuzz and memories of happier days brought smiles to weary faces. Well done Team Abbeyleix Manor. World class genuine hospitality when it was most needed.

I rang late on the Wednesday as I was driving East to West and needed a bed. The lady on reception was brilliant, the trouble with most receptionists are they are trying to squeeze you for a couple of euros, for breakfast, parking, breathing, windows that are open, but the lady was brilliant, straight to the point and no BS. She read the situation perfectly. So I arrived late and while I am unsure if it was the same receptionist, despite it being at the end of the shift, there was a smile and again, no BS. Thanks Ciara I woke up and went for breakfast, and was met by what has to be described as the best breakfast waiter I have ever met. Laughing, smiling, no crap. He is now my best friend in the whole world ever. Almost like he read my mind! Absolutely awesome bloke. I would come back just to have breakfast again!! Thanks John! They say the staff make a hotel, couldn't have been closer to the truth! I met with my colleague and really over stayed our welcome but again, there was no issue, we sat down, had coffee.

I called in for breakfast. Warm welcome even though they were clearly very busy. Well trained polite staff. Food was freshly cooked, tasted lovely & good value. Will call again. Filter coffee wasn’t great but flat white made up for it. Good parking.

Stayed here recently for a friends special occasion and extremely impressed with accommodation, facilities, food and service. Staff were all extremely helpful and and very accommodating. Hotel itself is situated just a few minutes walk from gorgeous heritage town of Abbeyleix and next door to the Abbeyleix bog project. Already planning a return visit and this time bringing the walking shoes to properly explore the bog project and the town.

Stayed at the hotel for my sister’s wedding. Staff were really friendly and helpful and looked after us all fabulously. All the food provided was excellent - hits d’oeuvres, main meal, finger food, breakfast. My father was in a wheel chair and he was very comfortable. Great spot.

We had our wedding here on 16/08/2023 and we couldn't be happier with the care and attention we received from Alex and his team. The food was excellent, rooms spacious and comfortable, staff were so friendly and helpful. The next day, many of our guests hung around and had refreshments in the café and went on the Bog Walk. So beautiful 😍
