We stayed here for one night and it is a really lovely place to stay. We stayed in a ground floor AC room. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The pool is lovely and as the resort has few rooms that weren't full it often meant we had it to ourselves. Staff really accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was ample and they went out of their way to cater to tastes. The only issue we had is that the hotel can be difficult for tuk-tuks to find so try to make sure you have a map if possible (we had one on our phones). Thanks Blue Kite for a lovely relaxing stay!
Blue Kite is a great place to stay in Kalpitiya. The staff is very friendly and helpful with whichever question you might have. Everything is very clean. The pool is with salt water which I liked a lot. The rooms are very spacious and beautiful, clean as well and the mattresses are incredibly comfortable! There is a restaurant close by but you can use the kitchen too, if you like. The breakfast they serve is delicious too. They vary it from day to day and also make Sri Lankan dishes (ex. milk rice, pol roti and coconut sambol). If you want to unwind for a few days, this is the perfect place for you. Thank you Blue Kite for the lovely days!
This place is one of the best places I've ever stayed at. To start with the rooms are spacious and clean, very nice styling and it was calm and quiet. The pool was also very good, one of the few in the area I think. But the best part I'd say was our hosts Misha and Shanaka, very friendly and helpful, super nice to just hang and talk with them which made the place even more enjoyable. Oh and the breakfast, really miss the breakfast we were served, not the usual continental, this one was way better and almost everyday it was something new on the plates. I'm not a fan of going back to places I've been, but I hope I soon can go back to Blue. Kite.
We stayed at Blue Kite for two nights, because we wanted to head out and see dolphins. We felt like we were back home from the moment we arrived. The staff were so friendly and even “baby sat” our son, playing with him, picking up shells with him and keeping him happily occupied! The food turned out by their local cook is out of this world. Her crab curry, prawn curry - and even the most simple dhall curry - were incredibly delicious. The rooms are nice and spacious and the fact that there are ACs goes a long way in this very hot climate. Blue Kite also has a lovely, large natural pool - a particularly fun place for kids. Although we were not able to see dolphins, the icing on the cake as it were is that we caught a very rare sight - 25 sperm whales swimming right by our boat :) The boat trip itself was very relaxing with lots of bird sightings. If there were any downsides to Blue Kite, it is that the wifi signals are pretty weak. But then again, maybe that's a good thing because we were on a nature trip!!!! We will definitely go back to Blue Kite! …
A group of 5 of us took 2 rooms in this charming, beautiful little hotel. The rooms are large and well-designed, and we enjoyed the lovely pool when we were not at the beach. The three young people running the place, Sharnaka, Chamika and Sampath couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, and took good care of my 80-year old mother when we left for a tour at Wilpattu Wildlife Park. Overall a very enjoyable stay!
