It’s cheap, reasonably clean, and near the via francegena. It’s also very dark (no lights in hallways), and has no heat or AC (so our room in Nov was very cold). Our room had a door to a big shared patio but no window, which meant no fresh air at night. At very busy and noisy rotary. Staff was grumpy and completely unhelpful. While place is depressing. Industrial area.
The hotel is average and the staff are helpful and friendly. Don’t eat in the restaurant. I had one of the worst Italian meals ever. The spaghetti carbonara was greasy, salty and unpleasant. The veal to follow was ok but too much salt. The tomato salad was made with unripe tomatoes. If I hadn’t been famished I would have left the whole meal.
We stayed one night at this hotel as walking the Via Francigena. It has a huge structure for great groups or celebrations. The rooms were reasonably sized, clean, had a good shower. Working high speed wifi all around. Both dinner and breakfast were a great experience. Very good report Price/Quality.
The Demy Hotel is located in a business part of the town, good if you want you car serviced or buy building materials, but not so good if you are a tourist. The first impression is that it is large and modern. You have to walk up a wide staircase to reception. The layout of the hotel is such that the mobility challenged should look elsewhere. To get to our room we had to walk along a corridor, turning several times, then go down a set of stairs to the next floor, then along more winding corridors and more steps. Our room l was large and nice and cool (it was 36c). The bed was comfortable and the bedding fine. The bathroom was OK, despite cracked tiles in the shower. There was WiFi and the usual TV etc. Breakfast was OK rather than good. Tea/coffee, cereals, fruit juice etc. When we arrived there was no cheese and ham etc. They seem only to bring out sufficient for the needs of the people who have sat down. There was none of the usual display of pastries and cakes etc. The best thing about the hotel was the guy on reception. We asked him to call a taxi to take us to the station. There were none to be had, so he took us in his own car and refused point black to accept any payment. Marvellous service! NB: Although you may have sensibly purchased a continental adapter to charge your mobile phone etc, in Italy electrical sockets come in two sizes. You may find that your adapter does not fit the socket. However, if there is a hairdryer in the room you may find that it is fitted with an adapter for the socket in your room. Remove this and use this instead together with your own adapter.…
Stopped here on the via francigena walking trip. The town itself is pretty unexciting. Hotel is nice with a nice rooftop terrace. Restaurant is good, although we were there during a conference or bus tour and so service was really slow for supper.
