We couldn't understand why more people didn't go to Marie Galante - it was by far our favourite place we visited in Guadeloupe! So quiet and peaceful - you have the beach virtually to yourselves most days. This hotel was lovely and only a few minutes drive from our favourite beach (plage de la feuillere) and some lovely restaurants. We were greeted with a rum punch which was delicious and the rooms are bright and clean - all feel very private as there are lots of trees on the property. Wi-fi isn't great but that was the beauty of Marie Galante that you could completely switch off and relax!
Hotel tres tres jolie. Suite Exotic marine very confortable with all necessary equipment. Breakfast a little bit poor. Staff very kind. We have also rent a car by the hotel and the service is very useful.
a warm welcome from the great Myry a beautiful garden setting close to major beauty beaches and great restaurants the hotel is small, exceedingly friendly, clean and helpful for any thing you need;rental cars, cabs, take out, dinners for two delivered, excursions and general great island tips be aware no automatic transmissions but i cabbed it for 3 weeks for the same price and there are excursions too
We were welcomed warmly on arrived and shown to the Canelle Cocoon studio. It was wonderful and private and the surrounding garden was well done. We decided to have breakfast which was good value, comprising of fruit, bread, coffee/tea, yogurt and there was plenty of it. Sadly because of Hurricane Maria the Restaurant was closed and Wifi was temperamental. Overall we would thoroughly recommend the establishment.
We loved our three nights at the Rose du Bresil. We stayed in one of the suites, which included a covered veranda with kitchen. It was totally perfect. You really need a car on Marie Galante, so it's not a big deal that the Rose is not right on the beach. There are amazing beaches within a 5 minute drive, and other secluded beaches all around the island. It was great to come back in the evenings to relax and swim in the pool. Access to laundry (6 euros for wash and dry) was very welcome. My only recommendation is they could stand to replace the frying pans in the kitchenette.
We stayed for 6 nights in the marine suite at the Rose du Bresil in early 2017. The room was clean, spacious and can host 4 people (one large bed and two twins). The outside living room was quite private and we spent each morning and night out there. The kitchen comes equipped with everything you could possibly want: small fridge, microwave, toaster oven, stove, American-style coffee maker (!), dishes, knives, etc. For this season, there was no restaurant or bar on site but that may change later this year. We just bought coffee and fruit at the markets in town and were all set for breakfast. The room came with a new aircon unit, television, blow dryer, and good wi-fi inside and out. The hotel has multiple dogs and cats, all of whom are very sweet. At night hundreds of hermit crabs come out on the lawn which was entertaining and a bit creepy. The hotel is extremely quiet and the suites are configured such that you never notice other guests. I highly recommend a car because although there are great beaches just a few minutes' walk away, there are great beaches and restaurants across the whole island that are well worth experiencing. If I come to Marie-Galante again I will certainly stay here.…
A very nice garden , our bungalow was canelle cocoon nice cosy clean and in a private corner. Beds was confortabile and bath too. A really relaxing resort in a paradise island . If you want to live an enchanting experience don't miss this place.
We wanted a week of rest, beach & sun away from the world - which is what we got! A couple of things to note ahead of planning a stay at Marie Gallante: coordinating airline arrival in Pointe-a- Pietre with boat schedule to the island was not clear - boats stop going around 5 pm which meant two nights on the mainland (coming/going). Reserve ahead of time. Once on the island - which is beautiful and quiet, we found we needed a car to get around and get groceries since only breakfast was available at La Rose which was a bit disappointing. Price for breakfast:12 EURO per person - a bit steep. The hotel with separate bungalows was nice - we stayed in AZUR. Renovations at the hotel were ongoing so, but we were not bothered much. Clean and private, wifi worked ok. Missed mosquito net on spare bed, daily clean towels. Beautiful beach across the road, lovely pool, helpful owner and staff. Overall a great stay - will go again!…
This was our first visit to Marie Galante. We stayed for a week and are very pleased that we chose to stay at La Rose du Brésil. The hotel is a peaceful little community just five minutes drive from Capesterre and less than that from two pretty beaches. “La Rose” is well-described on the website, except that the restaurant now serves only breakfast and only “on request”. Myry, the manager (and we guess the owner too) is always available and always seems to be working to make sure that the place is running smoothly and well. The whole compound is quite small but each individual cabin is so well situated that you and your next-door neighbor both have as much privacy as possible. Each unit is truly unique, so it is well worth studying the descriptions, the photos and the hotel site-plan in order to select the place that best suits your needs. We chose to stay in the “Junior Havana” suite and were well pleased with our choice. The pool and its surroundings are delightful. Even though the hotel seemed quite full, there were rarely more than a couple of people using the pool. (I guess that most people come here for the beautiful beaches.) WiFi is reasonably good in the pool area (where Myry’s office is located) and gets progressively weaker the further away you go. We usually had “just-O.K.” internet access on our private patio but no reception at all in our bedroom. Concrete walls and WiFi do not mix well. The cable TV works well and Myry was kind enough to make sure that our TV included CNN, the only English language channel available. All in all, “La Rose” provided us with a very pleasant and restful week. In addition to our accommodation, we asked Myry to arrange our ferry-trip to and from Marie Galante and a car while we were there. Given our lack of prior knowledge of Marie Galante and our very limited French, we were glad that we did not try to arrange these things ourselves.…
We had agreat stay here for 4 nights in a small bungalow (sun). Clean, well equipped, free wifi and airco in the room. Kitchen is outdoors, nice, clean and basic equipped if you want to make a quick dish. The location is easy to find, take a rental car or the local bus for 2 euros from the ferry terminal in grandbourg and they will dropp you infront of the door as rose de brazil is located next to the main road. Finally, the young man at the reception desk is very nice and helpful. Additional advice:if you haven't pre booked a rental car don't be alarmed, there are plenty of rental cars to go around, always available at the ferry terminal, Grandbourg. Always remember, this is the carribean, everything will eventually be alright☺
