Stayed at this hotel in June. Had email prior to staying at the hotel confirming the room rate. Even though we produced the printed copy of the email they still tried to add 20 euros on to the room rate. We stood our ground and eventually they conceeded and we paid the rate agreed. The room was very hot as the air con was not working, there were plenty of Ants running around on the floor. Pool area is very good, plenty of tables and chirs etc.The retaurant was appauling. Very poor food. they seem to be penny pinching with the quality of the food, preparation was poor, lots of salt. Desert was the old cut up fruit from breakfast with a handful of sugar thrown on the top. I think they should just close it down if the cannot produce a decent meal. Would not recommend the hotel as there a lot better ones to be had.…
Hi, last month, we've been to Miceneo Palace to travel around the south coast and we have enjoyed. All the staff is friendly and professional; We still remember about the food, because it was amazing and we really hope to come back soon Thank you for everything Luca and family
With Collette vacations and they greeted us with drinks and snacks......Great rooms and the warmest reception in all our travels. Had dinner here and ......This is what I have been waiting for on this trip!!!! Every dish was magnificent!!! The best food so far and my complements to the chef!!!! Stayed for two nights and visited a castle and tully houses an hour away. We all loved the fabulous live music and look forward to their CD. We danced and had the very best time!!!!
We were on a tour of southern Italy with 20 other seniors and the travel company booked us at Miceneo Palace Hotel for two nights, June 22 and 23. We toured Taranto and Puglia. The hotel is located in an out of the way location with nothing around it. We were taken to a local winery with a very good restaurant. We toured a small part of their vineyard, where they process and bottle their wines, then we went to dinner where they served a variety of their wines. This is part of the agri-tourism the tour company is promoting. The exterior of the Miceneo Palace Hotel is plain and has mini balconies in most rooms. A vintage Rolls Royce sits on the right side entrance to the hotel. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. All of the hallways and lobby were very clean, and the front desk help, cleaning people, bartenders and waiters were very happy to have us stay at their hotel. The sun was hot and shining directly on the balcony, so I used a bottle of soap and washed my polo shirts, socks and underwear, and in one and a half hours they were all completely dried, since the hotel laundry service was expensive and took two days. The hotel had a cocktail party for our tour group with very delicious appetizers and a variety of wines. We then went to the restaurant which was elegantly appointed with very fine table cloth, silver wear and glasses. The first course was an absolutely delicious octopus soup with beans. Then the chef demonstrated how he makes the pasta that he served us. The overall meal was stupendous. The breakfast menu had many choices of fresh juices, fruits and foods that were all freshly prepared. I don't know how much it cost to stay at this hotel, but if you stay at Miceneo Palace you will not be disappointed with the hotel, food or the service.…
The outside of this hotel looks disappointing and the town is not a place to wander. However, we were greated warmly upon arrival. The decor is tastefully done in the local style with care. Our room was bright and airy with a cute balcony. All the comforts you would want. We thought we would get something to eat from downstairs and bring it to our room to relax while we unpacked. To our joy our food came on a linen-covered dolly with a flower and a beautiful place settings. The food was delicious local specialities including a seafood soup and great bread. We felt like royalty sitting at our little table in the sun by the balcony in January. We loved the food so much we went downstairs for dinner. The chef single handedly put out lovely plates of grilled lamb chops, local antipasti and pastas with great local wine, all in a cozy, warm dining room. It was fun to watch the chef prepare our order in the huge, open kitchen. If you are here to visit the ruins or Matera, this is a wonderful place to spend your nights. …
