We booked into the beautiful Ballykealey House for an overnight stay a little before Christmas and it was simply fantastic. The level of customer service was refreshing! A very big thank you to Ian who looked after us from arrival to departure, it made our stay very welcome, he was very polite and accommodating. The room was gorgeous, we were on the top floor and it was so cosy, with beautiful furnishings and a beautiful view of the rolling hills beyond the manor house. For dinner, we opted for the risotto, the steak, apple crumble and crème brulé, all of which tasted amazing, really well presented and the waiting staff was really nice and attentive. Breakfast was really fresh, there were many options to choose from and Niamh our waitress was lovely and friendly. We did not have to leave our table at all and extra care was taken for safe service of food bearing in mind current circumstances. The place is so clean and we felt that all precautions were taken with the current pandemic. The location is ideal for those wanting to explore Irelands Ancient East, or to take a lodge just to wind down with family in a private setting. They offer private dining options for intimate groups, with several rooms to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again! Thank you, Niamh & Tadhg…
Attended a small family wedding in Ballykealey in September and everything was of the highest standard. The staff were excellent and attentive, the food was exceptionally good and the venue was beautiful. I couldn’t recommend it more, and hope to go back there soon!
I enjoyed a fabulous weekend in ballykealey house. I was very impressed with the food, the service and accomodation. I would definitely recommend ballykealey house to family and friends planning a weekend away.
We recently celebrated our wedding with a very small and intimate party of close family at Ballykealey House, and it was just exceptional. We had a fantastic 4 course banquet in the wonderfully atmospheric setting of the Oak dining room, with excellent service and attention to detail. All of our guests stayed in the hotel, and absolutely loved the rooms. The next morning we all had a family breakfast, again with delicious food. The atmosphere was so relaxed and everyone felt so well taken care of by all the wonderful staff from planning with Angela, the Maitre D, all the way through to checking out with Luke and Ian. The perfect setting.
The perfect venue for a covid wedding party. We were seated in the stunningly beautiful tudor room with high ceilings chandeliers and fireplaces for a banquet fit for a King. I have never tasted a wedding meal as exceptinal as this - from the scallops to the fillet steak to the oozing chocolate bomb. It is michelin star food of the highest quality. We had so many gorgeous options for our humanist cereomony outdoors from the fountain to the enclosed woodlands but chose the 250 year old tulip tree in the expanise lawns beside the house. It was picture perfect. In the current pandemic you need a staff that are flexible trustworthy and honorable - Ian and Angela could not have done more for us. We are forever grateful to them and their team. This venue is a hidden gem.
