This B&B sits above Lough Dan and is surrounded by mountains, so it's a very quiet location. The B&B seems popular with walkers. The room was spacious, and there was a good choice of breakfast options. There's also a common sitting area with a wood burner.

I arrived here with my two adult daughters on day 2 of our Wicklow way trip, very wet after 3 hrs heavy rain. We were met with a warm welcome, our boots and wet clothes were taken & dried over night. We had a delicious home cooked salmon dinner that evening with a well-needed bottle of wine. They went out of their way to accommodate our dietary requirements. It was superb from start to finish. We had a delicious breakfast to set us on our way the following morning. Highly recommend.

This is my second time staying with Sean and Theresa. The rooms are spacious and homely and they make the guests feel at home, Theresa cooks excellent meals using local produce and nothing is too much trouble. The scenery is picturesque and it is a great place to base a walking holiday with the Wicklow track so close. I hope to come here again from Australia as I feel like it is my home away from home. Well done Sean, Theresa and team. Margaret

We did not enjoy our stay here. There is no view over the lake; no homecooked meal and the room and bathroom are very small. The wasingtable is the size you would find in a toilet. There was no WiFi code to be found. No sodabread in the morning. The owners offered us twice they would bring us to town for our diner without telling us they would charge us. They drove us in a minibus badly smelling of smoke. 4 km to go and after Dinner 4 back. Next Morning they charged us and the other couples in the minibus 15 euro each. So they earned 60 euro for driving 8 km

Came out to loughdan with friends to pay a tribute to my good oul skin carl. Met Sean on arrival and what a absolute gent he was. A lovely chap who went out of his way to make us feel most wecome, providing us with great parking spots. Ever the gent, Sean guided us in the direction of the scenic route, we were all amazed by all the beauty we came across along the wicklow way. Just a glimpse and we knew it would be a great spot to spend 2 nights. The beach area is a beautiful picturesque spot but due to the sand, we decided to camp out back at the big greens (away from all the rift raft). A magical and soul refreshing time was had by all. The avid camper that Carl was, meant he enjoyed many a night at his favourite spot. And we were truly honoured to have such a special moment captured in our hearts forever. Thank you, Sean.

Four of us stayed at Loughdan House for two nights in September 2022 during our trip to Ireland from Australia to walk the Wicklow Way. Theresa and Sean run this delightful B&B which sits up above Lough Dan and has sensational views. Nothing was too much trouble for our gracious hosts - we recommend it highly! Laurie

If you are considering walking the Wicklow Way, I would highly encourage you to base your walk at the Lough Dan House. This is my second time staying here and intend it to be an annual tradition. The Byrne family are some of the kindest and hardest working people you will encounter. Their knowledge of the trails and history of the land will be a great aide to you on your hikes. By doing an all-inclusive self guided walking trip, you will avoid wasting time with airport transfer, having to pack up and move your bags each day, forage for lunch, and feeling unsettled. In addition, there are some stretches of the trail that pale in comparison to some of the walks around Lough Dan that you can do instead. Kanturk/ Scarr Mountain is an amazing walk you can do right from the house door. And there is no walk better than coming down Luggala Valley and around Lough Dan. You can access several parts of the Wicklow Way right out the door, and for those that may be a bit away such as the Glendalough-Spinc&Glenealo route, they can drop you at the trailhead and pick you up when you are finished. Theresa will also pack you a tasty lunch so you have no worries about finding food. The breakfasts and dinners are exceptional and the people you meet along the way make the journey priceless and memorable.

our return visit was really great. Excellent cheerful hosts, sumptuous Breakfasts, lovely room, and great location in the Wicklow mountains.
Host had extensive knowledge of the mountains and the local walks. a minibus taxi service also available if required. We had only one wet afternoon and our host offered to dry our walking gear immediately , without having to ask. we Highly recommend this lovely establishment and look forward to a return visit.

What a lovely B&B in a beautiful spot. Sean and Teresa were gracious hosts and the meals were delicious. We booked the walking tours and every day, Teresa would set up a plan for a hike with great instructions for the hike. With a packed lunch it made for a great time to be out in such a beautiful part of the world. Beds were comfortable and rooms adequate size.

The location is breathtaking: right on the edge of the forest with a view of the mountains opposite. In the evenings you can sit and relax by the cozy fire. The hospitality and helpfulness of the family is unbeatable - and a pinch of fine Irish humor is included for free. It couldn't have been more beautiful and I'm already looking forward to the day when I can return there.
