We had first visited Blairs Cove over 30 years ago and finally had the opportunity to make a return trip. We stayed two nights in the Loft and it was excellent. The Loft has terrific views from its large windows, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom has a really good shower. Decor is very tasteful and there is a small well equipped kitchen with good tea and coffee making facilities. The main point of Blairs Cove is of course the restaurant and it was certainly as good as we remembered. Food was wonderful and service friendly and helpful as were everyone we encountered. Definitely worth the journey.

Our son and daughter-in-law were married @ Blairscove last month. They and several wedding party members stayed on site for a few days. The setting is breathtaking, the hospitality is extraordinary and warm, the food is unsurpassed. Even the weather was perfect - palm trees in Ireland!? Treat yourself to a most wonderful, relaxing, Ireland experience!!

We have loved coming to Blairs Cove for many years now and enjoy it both as a couple and most recently as a family. It’s such a gorgeous place and a wonderful dining experience which is a must if in West Cork. On arrival, you are welcomed to enjoy a pre-dinner drink while browsing the main course menu. You are then taken into the restaurant with exposed stone walls that is decorated with a lovely mix of vibrant coloured chairs, white clothed tables with fresh flowers and brass candlesticks. A chef takes you to a starter buffet which is laid out on a copper island with a fantastic selection of ceviches, cured salmon, terrines, pâtés, salads and oysters to mention a few and you get to have a little of everything. Once you finish your starter, your main arrives and we opted on this occasion for the 20oz sharing beef for 2 on the bone which came with huge onion rings and what I can only describe as doorstep, chunky chips! It was cooked on the open fire overlooking the restaurant and it was to die for. The pièce de résistance is the dessert table which has a magical selection of butterscotch mousse, chocolate tart, poached meringue with crème anglaise, fresh fruits salads and much more. It was our children’s first time and they really enjoyed it, especially the piano player who subtly played beauty and the beast for the younger audience. We had such a lovely experience, one to remember!

We got married in Blairscove last September and the whole experience exceeded anything we could have wished for. From the moment we got in touch with Ann and Woody we knew that we had made the right choice - the warm welcome we received made us feel instantly like old friends. The whole planning process was seamless thanks to Ann, who helped us every step of the way and was available to answer any question we had. She was mindful of small details that made a huge impact for us, and she made us feel special and valued! The whole team went above and beyond on the actual day of the wedding. The atmosphere they created was exactly what we had hoped - warm, inviting, and relaxed. The food was exquisite, and the drinks reception was magic! The whole day went off without a hitch. Ann and Woody, and their entire team, are professionals in every aspect of the word. They are easy going, friendly, and they really know how to throw a party. The grounds are beautiful and the interior is fabulous too. It really was the best day ever, and we cannot thank Ann, Woody, and the whole team enough!

We (5 adults) went to the restaurant for dinner. It was fabulous. No cheap, but well worth it. The starter buffet was really good, with almost too many delicious choices. I had lemon sole for main, which was excellent. The desert buffet was also great, again spoiled for choice, so I had samples of 3 of them. Altogether worth making a trip to enjoy this excellent restaurant.

Accommodation excellent. Been using the restaurant for years through various management teams/family members. We had our usual pleasant relaxed evening with predinner drink which unfortunately had to be in the marque as their anti room was full. We feel that the buffet starter table was not up to its old standard but still interesting mix of choices. You have to ask for oysters but the one that was on display looked small & tired compared to the plump succulent ones we had had during the day in Bantry so we opted for a selection of other items. Personally I had wanted to go for the black sole special but since it was new season lamb time we couldnt resist choosing the rack of lamb as our main course & we had enjoyed this dish on several previous ocassions. Both of our lambs were tough & relatively tasteless unlike all previous times & lamb in general in Ireland. As we were one of the last in the restaurant (we had been allocated 8.30pm) we didnt wish to go through raising this at the time & have a delay before a replacement etc etc. but raised this with reception & subsequently with the management in writing. Response was that they would take it up with chef & butcher. Limited cheeses & the waitress who served dessert choice really couldnt wait to get away & the homemade icecream was partially melted by time got back to our table. All in all really quite a disappointing dining experience compared to every other visit to this otherwise great place

This place is exceptional in every way. The setting is outstanding and views are jaw dropping. It was a beautiful evening so we saw this establishment in all its glory. We think this is the place to go to for a special occasion, its a bit pricey but worth every penny. We had pre dinner drinks in the Marquee so could appreciate the fabulous views. Our only criticism is that the drinks were slow in coming. My suggestion would be to always get the aperitifs out quickly and generally it doesn’t matter if there is a delay with the food. Maybe we just got forgotten! The ambiance of the restaurant is suplime, such a beautiful room. The food was also outstanding. The starters are from a buffet so it you have a hearty appetite you will love this. The oysters were gorgeous. All three of us loved our main courses, the black sole was to die for. Great dessert options so if you have a sweet tooth you will be in heaven here. The staff were lovely, not overly attentive but attentive enough. We would come back to this divine place in a heartbeat. It would be hard to find a better setting anywhere in Ireland.

.Had a meal at Blairscove House last night. It was a voucher which I won, it had been given for Marymount by the owners in 2019. Thank you so much for supporting Marymount and what a lovely dining experience, we had. The food was magnificent, from the huge selection of buffet starters, the large main course menu to the jaw dropping selection of desserts where it was possible to taste a few. Every morsel of food was enjoyed by both of us. I look forward to eating in this tranquil and scenic restaurant again. The staff were well chosen especially the gentleman in charge on the night. Well done Blairscove House and restaurant.
