We stayed at this hotel as a family of 4 and booked an event for our post wedding celebration (day 2).
Jean on the events team looked after our booking and she was more than helpful from the get go. Her communication was very efficient and she never left me waiting long for a reply to an email or phone call. She organised a 5 star barbecue event and nothing could have prepared us for the spread that was put on on the day, but more on that later!
When we arrived we were greeted with a smile and were facilitated with an early check in, at around 12.30pm! When we got to our room I was moved to tears to see they had left a bottle of Prosecco and some goodies for the kids, and a card congratulating us on our marriage.
The room was spotless, you could smell the clean sheets as soon as you walked in to the room.
When we went down for the party they had arranged complimentary mimosas for us and the we could smell the barbecue which was fired up outside. The salads were stunning and the whole thing was so impressive. We ate burgers, chicken and sausages and not one element of the food was disappointing. The chefs did an amazing job. It’s also worth noting the prices for the different barbecue packages are also very reasonable! Great value!
We were looked after by Daniel who was on the ball from the get go! He was a pleasure to deal with and always had everything under control. The finger food platters were enormous and the quality was excellent. The waiting staff were, like all the staff we met, were also really friendly and attentive. There was a room next to our event room where they had put a movie on for the kids and gave them popcorn. There’s also a playground on site which came in handy.
The following morning we slept in and ran to the breakfast feeling we wouldn’t make it in time. We were 5 minutes past the finish time, but we’re assured by James they would hold off on clearing up the buffet to give us a chance to get fed. We were all well fed from the great selection of hot and cold buffet available. The kids had pancakes and fruit. We had a fry up. Everything was delicious and we were very grateful to have been looked after yet again,

Overall we had a 10/10 stay. Will absolutely be back to this hotel.

We chose this hotel due to its location as it is located close enough to Tayto Park. We pre- booked dinner the night before as recommended by the hotel receptionist. From the minute we arrived to the restaurant the quality of customer service was unsatisfactory. We were sat down and had to wait 10 minutes before we were given the menus. When finished our mains at 8.45pm, we had to wait another 20 minutes for anyone to come and clean our table. The lady took half of the dirty plates and left and never came back. After 10 minutes we called someone to take dessert orders but we were told that the dessert chef was gone home so we couldn't have any. That's unacceptable for 4 star hotel especially if you make dinner reservation in advance you should be informed that service finishes at 9! Bar service was equally slow and definitely not up to standards of 4 star. There should also be more amenities in the bathroom all we got was shower gel in the dispenser, no hair conditioner or lotion. This was my first stay in 4 star hotel where those weren't provided. Overall, we were disappointed with our stay and definitely won't be back. We understand that hotels are struggling now with staff shortages etc. and it can be a very stressful for all especially if holding wedding reception (forgot to mention that there was a wedding on the same day) but it should not have effects on other guests.

Availed of a winter offer advertised by the hotel for a evening break on the 16th February for the wife and I. Started of on a great note receiving excellent friendly service from the lady behind reception. I should have taken her name to mention her in this review. The room was adaquate and had all the facilties in the room as expected (although some bottles of water would have been welcome however there is a vending machine on the floor to purchase). The offer included a 2 course dinner which had a good selection of starters and mains and we had no complaints about the quantity and quality. Good selection of wine and were surprised to find our favourite red wine from South Africa in the list "Kanonkop Kadette". The offer included a free cocktail and was expecting a weak offer but to our surprise we could choice any off the menu. The breakfast in the morning was plentiful with all the food you would expect. Would definetly visit again.

Stayed here for 1 night. Plus points to start, free parking or maybe not at the price of the room! Very expensive. But secure. Room clean, bed comfortable and the shower just fabulous. Check in was pleasant and quick. Unfortunately there is some negative points. Staff neither helpful or friendly and to be honest service is very poor. When checked in we grabbed some food, waited over 15 minutes to get a drink and then nearly 30 minutes before we got our starter. Food terrible and overpriced! Chicken wings were overcooked and what seemed to me, put in a bowl and some bottle bbq sauce poured over them as wings were hot and sauce was cold. Burger not great either. I ordered a portion of beer battered onion rings only to find they were processed frozen ones from a bag and were still cold on the inside. Food was a let down. Maybe it was coming to the end of service but that's not an excuse. I also witnessed other tables having problems as well. The manager was definitely in demand!! The staff was getting set up for breakfast next morning, and I think they wanted us to move to another area. At the table next to me, the young girl was setting the table for breakfast next morning and dropped a knife on the floor and casually lifted it and put it back in with the clean knifes without as much as a wipe and continued to use them for setting the tables for breakfast. Has too be a no no! An overnight stay is perfect, as I said earlier, everything about the room is great. My gripe was with the bar/restaurant and the staff. Overall, not a great experience.

I was confused by whether I was staying in a mediocre hotel or an excellent motel. Then I saw the bill. This is definitely the former. First world issues but here goes; the view was of the M1 which made sense as it went with the nocturnal soundtrack of, well...the M1
Beds were comfortable. Three of them seemed excessive for a booking for one but no complaintsm there. Overall hygiene was lacking; dated and dirty bathtub/shower. Near depleted substandard shampoo body wash (not what it says on the label if my hair is anything to go by today).
They stop serving food at 9 and do not kick start their sandwich room service until midnight. But the local Balbriggan Dominoes deliver and are quite delicious. I went down for breakfast to an unmanned coffee area where you are made to wait for a paper cup coffee. I didn't wait so left without coffee. I would have made one iny room but it was just an old kettle and freeze dried Nescafé. If you are a veggie, don't bother with breakfast. It's air dried pastries and the fey up without the meats so you've got your tomatoes, has browns and mushrooms.
There were no complimentary toiletries to use other than the wall mounted soap and the rote control was dirty.
All in all it wasn't horrendous but I'm not quite sure why I had to pay over 170 for this and as conference centers go, I certainly wouldn't expect staff or business associates to undergo this degree of mediocrity. It was okay, nobody died but I haven't had breakfast, coffee, a decent night's sleep or a nice shower with passable products. I'll be giving this hotel a miss in the future.

I visited the City North Hotel last night. I waited approx 30 minutes for my starter as the initial order was misplaced but the young Waitress was extremely apologetic. The wrong starter then arrived but the correct order of garlic mushrooms arrived soon after & were 😋 delicious. I was brought complimentary bread rolls & offered a free drink.

The main course of mouth watering roast beef arrived promptly, huge portion served with tasty mash & vegetables. Again 2 very friendly & polite young Waitresses.

It was the same Guitar 🎸 Player as 3 weeks earlier & he was BRILLIANT.

The 3 course dinner was great value for €25.

Overall a FANTASTIC evening. I will be back 😅

Myself and my family organised a surprise baby shower with Afternoon Tea here last week and to say we were disappointed is a huge understatement.
When we arrived we approached the reception and told them we had a booking for Afternoon Tea. The receptionist asked for a booking reference, the family member who made the booking hadn't been given one. The receptionist asked what credit card was used to make the booking. No credit card details had been requested. She asked who our family member had spoken to but she hadn't felt it necessary to ask for a name when the booking was taken. The receptionist said there was no booking and they don't offer Afternoon Tea in that hotel. We told her that its well advertised on their website, to which she replied it shouldn't be there "we had to stop doing them as they weren't up to standard". We explained that there had been the first call and then a subsequent call to talk about dietary requirements and neither staff member said there would be any problem. We asked if we could have tea and sandwiches and maybe scones or dessert but she said the kitchen was too busy but we could have a carvery dinner. We told her that wasn't the kind of vibe we wanted for a surprise baby shower and the Mum To Be was on her way. After further conversation another member of staff approached and said she had taken the booking unaware that the service wasn't available. To cut a very long story short we had to make numerous phonecalls to various hotels looking for somewhere to take us for lunch. I'm glad to say an extremely helpful hotel felt sorry for us and set up a lovely area for us to take the Mum To Be.
I emailed my complaint to the hotel but seem to have been ignored. I wanted to know why they couldn't have sorted some kind of alternative to offer us before we got there instead of turning us away. It was an occasion that cannot be postponed to a later date and with one of the family members living a considerable distance away it's hard enough to gather everyone together.
A very poor effort to help us at all and then to not even reply to my email is so extremely unprofessional and doesn't reflect well on this hotel for service

This is the first time I have ever wrote a bad review but it just has to be done this time. We are very simple people and easily pleased but can’t say nothing about this. Stayed lastnight the 11th of may , sat down for dinner at 7.30 as we had booked in advance, we waited for half an hour to order as we couldn’t even see any staff and the one or two we did see were busy. Eventually a young man took our order . The starters were cold , looked really well but cold so wasn’t nice. Chicken curry for main was quite bad, absolutely no taste only from the vegetables, the burger Main was horrible couldn’t swallow a bite of it. then we waited 45 minutes for desert which was actually really nice , it was the only nice part. I don’t blame the waiting staff as they don’t cook the food I blame the chef. After that we left went back upto our room 406 , the noise was absolutely ridiculous, teenagers running up and down the halls screaming and banging doors , this went on for hours. I don’t like complaining so said nothing as my friend was staying in 424 and she had already rang reception to complain about it. I think it was a school tour or something not sure but they had no manners whatsoever. Parents and school should be ashamed of them. Finally we get to sleep , next thing fire alarm goes of scares everybody we all run out of the room outside like everyone else , children crying in the reception area scared I felt so sorry for them. Turns out it was them teenagers on the 4th floor that made this happen. Had to stand outside freezing cold with the children half asleep, went back in then and it happened the second time about a half hour later. So we had to go outside again. I went to reception and complained that this was not acceptable the man was apologetic about it but I could tell he was under pressure from everyone so I didn’t keep him for long. Went back in got to sleep about 3am as the teenagers were still going in and out of rooms all night. This morning we got up not looking forward to breakfast but we gave it a try it was actually ok , was handed cold toast but the fry was ok. We asked for tea a girl came down with tea pot no milk or sugar so I took some off another table. All the tables were dirty we cleaned our own table and set ourselves up with cutlery ect
When leaving I was that tired and fed up I said to myself what is the point in saying anything as the woman on the desk wasn’t even there lastnight

It was just a really bad experience and I’d like to think anybody that was not part of that group of school children on tour will be compensated in some way or another and contacted individually.
I’m sorry I had to write this but it’s unacceptable in a 4 star hotel , we pay a lot of money to have a nice relaxing stay not dealing with chaos at all hours of the morning.

Hi. I didn’t use the shuttle bus, the car park was free for the night we stayed. There are plenty of hotels in the airport or in swords area about 5 minutes from airport, premier inn at airside, forty four Main Street swords or Carnegie court north street swords, all 5 minutes from airport. Check DAA CARPARKS, for price on long term parking rates, with free shuttle to terminals. This hotel offered me a free night and tickets to a gig if I took down my original review, but this never materialized.
