Short 1 night stay for cricket at Malahide. Hotel room spacious and spotless. Breakfast good and inexpensive. Would have no hesitation in staying again. Good location if travelling from NI to events in North Dublin.
The afternoon tea in this hotel is absolutely lovely. However, disappointingly you now have to book at least three months in advance. I tried to book for this summer, either June, July and August and was informed by Jean in events that they are completely booked up until September!!!
Our stay in City North was enjoyable overall. We found the staff welcoming and very friendly. The room was clean and spacious. Dinner and breakfast were nice. Would visit again and am happy to recommend to others.
Lovely hotel with helpful staff. Very clean rooms that look just like the photos on their website. We had a nice group dinner and very good buffet breakfast. Fitness room met my expectations as well. Housekeeped noticed me leaving with my luggage and came over to open the door to the elevator hallway! I was a solo traveler and felt very safe. A great place to stay if you have transportation. It is about 20 miles to the airport and farther into Dublin. Shuttle bus no longer in operation after COVID. I would definitely stay here again.
Very satisfied with the room and the very helpful staff. A bit disappointed with the breakfast, eggs half cooked and mushrooms saturated in greese, could not eat them so ended up wiith a slice of toast and coffee.
My husband and 3 children along with my sister and her partner visited this hotel in late May. I don't believe I've ever visited a hotel where the staff are so nice, so professional and so very accommodating with any request. To the management of City North Hotel, all of your staff are simply amazing and a real credit to your hotel. We will most certainly be back. Thank you Stephanie on the front desk for all your help :)
Everything was great staff very polite and helpful they couldn't do enough for us. Food was lovely also. Room was really comfortable and spacious we will definitely be staying again. We couldn't find fault in anything.
I was looking forward to my stay at this hotel as I had heard great things, but upon my arrival I discovered that there is an extreme lack of bibles in this establishment. How am I supposed to enjoy my stay at this hotel when I cannot show my gratitude to the lord. This shocking lack of love for Jesus has dampened my stay and I would not recommend this hotel. 2/5
This is the first time I have ever wrote a bad review but it just has to be done this time. We are very simple people and easily pleased but can’t say nothing about this. Stayed lastnight the 11th of may , sat down for dinner at 7.30 as we had booked in advance, we waited for half an hour to order as we couldn’t even see any staff and the one or two we did see were busy. Eventually a young man took our order . The starters were cold , looked really well but cold so wasn’t nice. Chicken curry for main was quite bad, absolutely no taste only from the vegetables, the burger Main was horrible couldn’t swallow a bite of it. then we waited 45 minutes for desert which was actually really nice , it was the only nice part. I don’t blame the waiting staff as they don’t cook the food I blame the chef. After that we left went back upto our room 406 , the noise was absolutely ridiculous, teenagers running up and down the halls screaming and banging doors , this went on for hours. I don’t like complaining so said nothing as my friend was staying in 424 and she had already rang reception to complain about it. I think it was a school tour or something not sure but they had no manners whatsoever. Parents and school should be ashamed of them. Finally we get to sleep , next thing fire alarm goes of scares everybody we all run out of the room outside like everyone else , children crying in the reception area scared I felt so sorry for them. Turns out it was them teenagers on the 4th floor that made this happen. Had to stand outside freezing cold with the children half asleep, went back in then and it happened the second time about a half hour later. So we had to go outside again. I went to reception and complained that this was not acceptable the man was apologetic about it but I could tell he was under pressure from everyone so I didn’t keep him for long. Went back in got to sleep about 3am as the teenagers were still going in and out of rooms all night. This morning we got up not looking forward to breakfast but we gave it a try it was actually ok , was handed cold toast but the fry was ok. We asked for tea a girl came down with tea pot no milk or sugar so I took some off another table. All the tables were dirty we cleaned our own table and set ourselves up with cutlery ect When leaving I was that tired and fed up I said to myself what is the point in saying anything as the woman on the desk wasn’t even there lastnight It was just a really bad experience and I’d like to think anybody that was not part of that group of school children on tour will be compensated in some way or another and contacted individually. I’m sorry I had to write this but it’s unacceptable in a 4 star hotel , we pay a lot of money to have a nice relaxing stay not dealing with chaos at all hours of the morning.…
2 adults 3 children stayed here 11 my for 1 night. We taught it great value including tayto park full access. We landed to tayto park first and we had a ball. Our day was off to a great start. Finally when we headed for the hotel after all of been tired we proceeded and got ready for our dinner booking. Apon entering the Tara lounge expectations were high. Lovely decor. We couldn't wait for some good grub. We were seated then ordered or meals which took longer than expected to arrive. Some confusing as to which staff member was allowed to lift glass or replace cutlery ( a bit odd) but anyway. Food was nice kids enjoyed, so onto desert for the three hungers. Desert order was taken 3 times once by a manager and arrived 60mins later. Now if I taught thus was something to give out about I was wrong. By the end of our evening we retreated to our room to relax and unwind after an almost fantastic day. We were staying in room 424 when 2 bus loads of students on school tour landed. Ok but at 11pm the banging of door on our floor, running up and down the hall not to mention the 3 students banging our door down with every other door along the way which was all captured on cctv. Then all of a sudden the fire alarm goes off. Now this continued for 2 hours roughly several times this happened. We evacuated the hotel with every other resident many times. Children were freaked out along with dozens more which were staying. An utter disgrace of establishment for a 4star. We spoke with the nightporter at the time to check out but was informed than it will not happen again so by morning we packed up at 9 didn't even bother with our breakfast which we had paid for. Then we checked out. I have never in my life experienced anything like this. So we left for home hungry. All I can is the night porter apologised, he was very plesent and is far too good of a worker to be employed at the city north.…
