Lovely clean and tidy accommodation. Karen has gone the extra mile with providing a welcome pack of tea coffee scones butter and jam, little soaps and shower gel give the finishing touches. Patio table and chairs are outside your accomodation on a hard stand for alfresco dining or a relaxing with a glass of wine over looking the canal.

Thank you Lorraine for your very kind words. It was great to meet you and Michael and hear of your journey walking along the Grand Canal. Enjoy the rest of your walk to Dublin and I hope that we meet again soon. Take care Karen x

I stayed here for 2 days on a walking tour and was mesmerized by the beauty here and the generousness of Karen, the owner. These cute cottages right by the beautiful canal, are in good shape and sticked with every kitchen gadget you could imagine as well as a washer/dryer for the whole place( something you want in Ireland if you’re walking and get wet feet or clothes from occasional rain). Karen was available and ready with information, ideas or just to talk. I would Totally come back here just to wander along the beautiful canals or bike. I didn’t even see any of the official sites or shops so theres more to do next time. Only an hour drive from dublin, It might be a great first or last stop on your way back to the airport

Four of us (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed in one of the 8 little bungalows on site, which had everything we needed for a few days. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment, comfy armchairs in the living area and a patio at the rear facing onto the Grand Canal. The beds were comfy and the location was perfect for exploring Kildare by car. The village has a pub, Chinese takeaway, two shops and a coffee van - what more could you need? A special thanks to Claire for sending on items I left behind, it was very much appreciated.

The cottages were clean and had a welcome package waiting for us as we entered. Karen was always available for answering our questions. Also close to Robertstown where it has a pub, newsagents and many more. Also a short drive away from the bigger towns of Naas,Sallins,Maynooth,Clane and Newbridge. Will be back again soon

+1
I stayed at Roberts town cottages over Christmas and was so disapointed I actually booked an ealier flight home and left on Boxing day. This place is awful. And as for Karen being there to greet and deal with all needs, I dont think so!! I was told on arrival there would be a Christmas tree, that was not the case I had to ask for one! The tv did not work the whole time I was there. I sent Karen a message to let her know I would be leaving early due to all the issues with this place and to this day I have not received a response!!
1. missing light bulbs, 2. missing lamp shades, 3. no toliet roll holders in either toilet, I can see that has been raised in another review as well!!, 4. No mattress covers, 5. Dead flies inside the property, clearly the place had not been cleaned properly to welcome visitors, these would have been removed, or would they??, 6. No wardrobe doors, 7. No door to the freezer compartment in the fridge, 8 Filthy toaster, full of old crumbs, 9, Filthy oven, no way would I of cooked any food in this oven.I moved from no 6 because the oven in that cottage was so filthy, but in actual fact the oven in no 8 was just as bad!! This place certainly is not home from home, and staying there ruined my whole Christmas. The place is not welcoming one bit, its dull, dark and dingy with terrible lighting.

Stayed in Robertstown with my hubbie and three teenage kids- house sits on the edge of the canal village and we could fish (hubbie tried) from back door, kids even though teens loved the ducks who knocked every morning for brekkie, Lovely village and freindly locals and enjoyed a nice oint with a few of them. my youngest is 13 and he loved lullymore park close by, but we went bowling, greyhoundracing to newbridge, pictures in naas and shopping locally as well as Dublin. Took a day trip through wicklow which was fantastic. I heard about village from a friend who had stayed there fo a wedding when bride booked whole village for guests and karen and marguerite coulnt do enough for them- mus say we had same experience whn we wanted information and they had concessions to amenities for guests which was a great plus- would go back again in a heartbeat, yoiu feel you know arn and Marguerite beforeyou meet them as they made contact two or three times before we arrived to make sure sleeping arrangements were to our satisfaction- can sleep five but cool bit was Huge KIng sze bed in main bedroom - but iftwo couple both bedrooms can be kinzsize- and if a group of single all beds can be singles- house spotless with crisp white sheets aways a good sign. One would require ca to stay and make the most but they have even got a duiscount with budget car or guests. Great experience and cheapest value around and stylish decor- Loved meeting two women in receptin - great sense of humour as well as helpful!

Just back from a fantastic Easter family gathering in Robertstown. We all had a great time and loved the peaceful and beautiful location. The cottages were comfortable and cosy and good value for money. The village of Robertstown is on your doorstep and has all you need for groceries and Irish hospitality. The locals were very friendly and welcoming. We had a great day out in Dublin which was less than 30 minutes by train from Sallins. You must visit the Guinness Storehouse and do the Dublin Hop on Hop off bus tour. Glendalough is a must for scenery and walking and was one our favourite days out for young and old alike. For sea air, fish restaurants and beach walks, Howth and Malahide are only an hour away by car and well worth visiting. You must try the Clam Chowder and Crab Sandwich at the King Sitric - divine! A great base for seeing surrounding area and Karen was a great host and her helpfulness was appreciated, thanks so much from all of us.

Returned after 1 week staying at the above cottages and had a really fantastic time. Only 1 hour from dublin Airport. Karen and Kevin (the propietors) couldnt do enough for you, and in short everyone we came into contact with were of the same nature. the cottages were in excellent decorative order and more importantly clean. If you are looking for a peaceful holiday base, (and a resident duck family)!!! look no further. There was a visitors book within the cottage full of praise with not one sign of discontent. Highy recommend.

We have just come back from a lovely long weekend away here.
I would be happy to recommend this place for several reasons.
Firstly Karen was very welcoming and helpful.
The holiday village was easy to find and parking onsite was great.
We found our house to be clean and tidy with literally every convenience you would need.
Its located in a great location for touring around and there is a few well stocked local shops for essentials during your stay.
There is also a good pub and a tasty chinese restaurant thats well priced all a short walk away.
So if your looking for a great spot to relax, tour about but have the luxury of your own space and home comforts this is the place for you.

Stayed for one week with Karen and Marguerite at Roberstown holiday village. Can't thank them enough for a wonderful stay. Every thing we wanted and more. Very comfortable, everything needed to cook if you want to, plenty of hot water, peaceful location and probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!. Wonderful people in a wonderful place, and a visit to the Charlie Weld pub a must for a proper warm Irish welcome.
