I stayed here last week for a couple of days. I was really impressed. The Hotel is lovely and the lake is beautiful. It was so nice having a glass of wine looking down at the lake it was like you were abroad. The best thing about the hotel is the staff who were always helpful and very friendly which makes a big difference as you feel so welcome. The food was very nice and well presented. The only downside was the windows in the bedroom. Only one could be opened very slightly and it was very warm. The hotel gave me a fan which was great otherwise would not be able to sleep.

Absolutely brilliant little hotel in the most peaceful setting. Location, staff, food, drinks, value were all excellent. Perfect short break at the edge of Lough Sheelin. Grounds were immaculate as was the inside of the hotel staff couldn't do more to tend to your every need. Would highly recommend.

I genuinely hate the expression, but this really is a “hidden gem” (*shudder*). There is no meandering driveway, but the hotel has a genuine “wow” factor from the moment you drive through the gates. The grounds are outstanding and are a credit to the owner, management, and (of course) the small team of gardeners who attend to them. The staff were wonderful throughout our stay. Even when I called in a few weeks ago to make an enquiry, I was greeted with a smile (although it was hidden behind a mask). Despite the ongoing COVID challenge, nothing was too much trouble and everyone we encountered was positive and good humoured. All the guidelines were followed but it never felt overpowering - we felt entirely safe but always relaxed. The food was lovely too, but the limited menu got a little boring – same selection for lunch and dinner across three days. I did mention this to the lovely Vanessa, and she said she would raise it with the management. Thank you! The rooms were simple but immaculate. I did not like the fact that there were no curtains though! The blinds are smart, but blackout curtains really are essential in a hotel. In addition, my shower was showing its age. It was hard to get the right temperature and the water would get gradually colder as the shower progressed! Neither point is a deal-breaker though – I shall bring a blindfold when I return. Because of COVID, the rooms were not serviced during our stay, but fresh towels and supplies were provided each day and it was nice knowing that housekeeping would not need to turf us out to clean. All in all, it was a great stay in difficult times, and I look forward to (hopefully) many more visits in the future.

My wife and I recently stayed for 1night at Crover House. The house and grounds are absolutely stunning. The grounds and interior are kept in such amazing condition. The hotel staff and grounds keepers are an absolute credit to the hotel. My wife and I only had lunch at the hotel, but the food was still very nice. The breakfast was great to start the day with. I played golf during my stay. The course is very short and tight, with extremely small greens. But was still very enjoyable as it was maintained to a high standard. Only downside was the room. Although clean and tidy, the bed was extremely hard and the bathroom was dated and not not nice. Our booking was impromptu, so I think we got the last remaining room, as it was fully booked. But from what I saw, the other rooms looked alot nicer. I spoke to the lady at reception, to enquire about upgrading etc, but the only other room available was the same as the one we were in. So if staying, please stay away from room 115, as it really doesnt do the hotel or staff justice. Huge thanks to the staff, who were all fantastic. Special mention to Mary, Liam and the manager of the breakfast room (didnt get her name). Would of been 5stars if the room was nicer. But will definitely be back

Stayed here with my hubby for my birthday, absolutely fabulous spot , we got dulex room which was stunning and bathroom very modern. Rooms were spotless. Room service forgot to hoover our room and they knocked in to apologise and offered to do it but we said it was fine . The staff are extremely friendly especially the front desk ladies they were so nice. We enjoyed very relaxing drinks on patio over looking the late. Only complaint I would have was the golfers were so noisy arriving in morning. But that aside I'd definitely book here again
