August the 10th 2022 .made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived by Jevin the duty manager. We had a Superb afternoon tea at the slieve russell Hotel today, group of 5 , amazing selection and service ,Costas the manager was very attentive ,would highly recommend for a special occasion.
Lovely hotel, staff really are a credit to this place. They are all so friendly from Kells bar, summit restaurant, and sentanta restaurant, they honestly couldn't do enough for you. The rooms for 2 adults and 2 kids are big and spacious, 2 double beds, a bit dated though could possibly do with a paint. Nice powerful should, house keeping came each morning of our stay. Also a lovely bootle of wine in room for my wife and I anniversary. Swimming pool is great, not too deep for the kids who had great fun each day. Also a small games room with pool air hockey etc. Which kids also enjoyed. Kids club in hotel, again staff great, kids used the sports one day and loved it, they were unhappy they didn't make it the next day as we were out. They also had dinner here and then a movie at 7 which was handy for parents to have some time to eat dinner and relax. We ate dinner in sentanta and summit and both were delicious. All in all a nice stay and will probably be back…
My previous rant for review was not allowed so here I go again. Terrible experience in this hotel. Service is terrible. We waited for our drinks at our dinner table for 35mins...then dinner came 45mins after first taken. Staff seated my family of 11 on two tables...one round...the other rectangle.... My mother was left in limbo at the awkward table set up they put is in. Service at the overy loud guitar playing bar was terrible also. I had waited 20 mins to be served.... The staff said they 'didnt see me' which is untrue. The room was grand but for child safety and regulations on being above ground level it had no window safety latches on them. This is a major flaw and needs to be inspected at ASAP!!!! Our window was facing the golf course in which any child would fall out of. Tony, investigate ASAP. I'll never hotel here ever again with this place.…
Just home from a 2 night stay. Stayed here many times before and when my brother got married. Its been awhile so finally got back. Staff very friendly checking in. Myself and my friend were early so we had lunch in the bar. Food and service was excellent. The new decor in the bar is fabulous. Room was lovely and spacious all you need and really comfortable. Ate twice in the Summit restaurant never ate in it before. Food excellent and very quick. Breakfast in the Conall Ceranach Restaurant was excellent. Plenty to choose from. Pancakes was delicious. Friend used the pool area and was great I just sat on the beds. Lovely area. Great music in the bar. Bar man made us lovely mocktails. Grounds and the secret garden lovely for walks and seating areas. Nice sitting in foyer watching the wedding guests. Myself and my friend really enjoyed our stay. Staff throughout the hotel very friendly and house keeping staff. Hope to return before Christmas to see the decorations. In my opinion this hotel should be a 5 star. Peoples negative reviews on kids running around there wasn't many when we were there. It's not the hotels fault. It's up to the parents to watch them. …
3rd visit for us here, 1st time with our 11yr old twins. Expectional hotel, stunning grounds, very well maintained.. We dined in the Summit restaurant food average. Dined in the senate restaurant a tat dearer but worth it. As advertised we noticed the Ranger club, the folks who kept our kids entertained with sporting activities, films & the free evening meals made our hoilday here brilliant. Excellent service from the moment we got here, shout out to Margaret, breakfast waitress. Such a lovely woman. Thankyou
Currently staying here with our two boys 10 & 7. It is a fantastic family hotel. Ideal for children. Newly renovated areas are fab. The food has been amazing. Dinner tonight was just superb. Chocolate lava cake was the best desert I’ve had. The staff are the best hotel staff we’ve seen for years. Kids club is brilliant. Our boys have been to all 4 sessions today. They’ve met some new buddies and we got to have some couple time too. Hotel grounds are beautiful. Kept so well. We’ve enjoyed the tennis courts, mini golf and also the 9 hole par 3 course. So much fun. We leave tomorrow and don’t want to. Our boys want to stay longer. It’s a family hotel with so much to do, yummy food, lovely staff, just excellent. Comfy beds. So much space downstairs to chill out. Love the pool area too. Everything is excellent. We will be back. Thank you SR!! …
This was our fourth visit to The Slieve Russell and we decided to take my aunt for a break. Stayed in room 642 and 644. Both beautiful rooms with lovely views of gardens. The bed was very cosy with an excellent spacious bathroom. The room was spotlessly clean. We dined in the CC restaurant and it didn't disappoint. The food and service is A star. Breakfast is excellent. We also treated ourselves to afternoon tea which was priced at 18 euros each, the selection was lovely. Worth every penny and more. We enjoyed the music in the newly decorated bar. Great entertainment. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Ivan in the bar, Mary on breakfast who is so friendly as she makes your toast. Natasha, Nadine and Fiona in the CC, service was excellent. Josh, Sinead and Ashleen who served the Afternoon Tea. We didn't dine in The Summit but found Anita very welcoming and helpful. We can't praise the Slieve Russell enough, it's a fantastic hotel all round. Thanks to all the staff for an excellent break.…
Excellent food and service Wonderful visit Staff excellent Definitely worth coming back First visit and very impressed Staycation worth every penny So relaxing and everyone went the extra mile to make it special for us
Another lovely stay at the Slieve Russell. We dined in all three restaurants and the food was 4 star on each occasion. The golf course is in superb condition as always and my husband thoroughly enjoyed playing. It was very busy with hotels guests and weddings but the service and staff were excellent. It's a family hotel so yes, plenty of children around, but children are not permitted in the bar after 10pm. A musician in the bar around 9pm every night added a nice atmosphere for having a drink. Can't wait to stay again next year.
Paid for a special room hoping for a few lovely days. The reality is that we have landed in a kids summer camp! Loads of children allowed to run riot throughout the hotel. No adults only spaces in the hotel. Dinner was ok but I thought when you ordered wine it should be served with the food and not after? Service at the bar is dreadful can barely get anyone to serve you. First and last trip to this FAMILY Butlins. If you are a couple looking for a relaxing break do not come anywhere near the Slieve Russell hotel, Never again!
