A few friends and I booked the Chalet at the Old Rectory for a weekend of hiking. Harriet and Martin were wonderful hosts and the chalet is delightful. The kitchen was very well stocked, and they left us some milk and homemade buns which was lovely. The house was spotless and the accommodation was amble, there are 6 bedrooms. There a two bathrooms with showers and an upstairs toilet as well. There is also a lovely outside seating and barbecue area. The whole setting is really lovely, they have several other accommodation options and it is all in a beautiful setting. There are plenty of nice hikes and walks nearby.
We stayed here for the St. Patrick's Weekend. We had really heavy snow. It was a winter wonderland. We walked in the nearby forest. We sat by our wonderful stove and felt cosy. Our host was very welcoming and couldn't have done more to help us. We will DEFINITELY be back.
We spent two nights in one of their self contained, one bedroom dwellings. The facilities were excellent and once we got the fire going, the place warmed up quickly for cosy nights. Sofa bed was also comfortable. Axel, the family dog was super friendly and playful and the cats (3 of them!) were also very sociable. Overall, a great place to relax and getaway from a busy world.
We spent the bank holiday weekend staying in the Old Rectory and had the most incredible experience. We were a group of four and stayed in one of the guest houses on the site. The family who run the old rectory were lovely and extremely accommodating. The house we stayed in was cosy and clean. It had a well equipped kitchen and nespresso machine which we took advantage of. The bedroom was lovely and the fold out bed was comfortable too. The grounds were beautiful and it was a brilliant location near to lots of amenities in the county. We would definitely stay again.
