I’m partial to Japanese accommodations and their amenities, so when I found out that the Japan-based Sunroute hotel chain had a location in Taipei, I decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did. This hotel ticks all of the boxes commensurate with a typical Japanese business hotel - comfortable bed, writing desk, ample storage, flat panel television, fridge, free toiletries (replenished daily), hot water kettle with tea included and the all-in-one Toto brand bathroom which includes the most civilized Washlet toilet. This 10-story hotel is located on a major thoroughfare, yet external noise is barely audible. All modes of transportation are within steps from the hotel - buses, trains/MRT and taxis. There is an attached Japanese restaurant as well as a small cafe in the lobby. Within steps of the hotel are countless cafes, restaurants and the ubiquitous convenience stores. The staff is exceptionally courteous and professional. The housekeeping staff does an excellent job maintaining and cleaning paying close attention to detail. I’ve been here for a week now and virtually every staff member knows me and treats me like a well respected guest. I’m happy to call Hotel Sunroute Taipei my home while in the city. Upon forthcoming visits I will not hesitate to stay here again.…
The room was very clean and staff were very helpful. The Taipei branch holds up the standard of a Japanese chain, including multilingual concierge staff was were able to both assist me in English and my partner in Japanese. It is also a good location, centrally located and close to MRT and bus stops. My only complaint is that the restaurant customers were very noisy in the evening, we could hear from the lobby but fortunately not in the rooms. 英語と日本語を話せました。おもてなしはいいでした。楽しいかった。
Very standard Japanese style business hotel. The rooms and facilities in the rooms are exactly the same as those in Japan. Even the size are the same (i.e. small). But the price is very affordable and the location of the hotel is quite convenient. Just several minutes of walk from metro station. The breakfast in the hotel is quite expensive if your room rate does not already include it. There is a Starbucks just 30 seconds of walk from the hotel entrance. I had my breakfast there. You basically get what you paid for.
The location of this hotel is good for the business district, shops, a bit of a bar scene, near two metro's. That said, there are hotels scattered all over Taipei so pick your hotel that's nearest to want you want to do, otherwise it's a pain getting taxi's and using the metro. This place is a hotel catering to a predominantly Japanese clientelle. The rooms are small, dreary and dated, as is the rest of the hotel. It contains a Japanese restaurant which I never ate at and a lobby area busy with Japanese business men having meetings. The reception staff are polite and curteous, although very few of them spoke English. The cost of the rooms can fluctuate quite a lot and you can get some good deals. That's why I stayed and probably the only reason why you should.
This is the Taiwan outpost of a large Japanese tourist/business hotel chain catering mainly for Japanese visitors. Fixtures and fittings were typically Japanese (including the usual capsule bathroom). Twin room size was adequate, with two comfortable queen beds, but not generous. English spoken at the Reception was adequate. The room was comfortable and quiet. We had no problems staying here. Location near a Metro station is convenient. There is a good Japanese restaurant in the basement. No other European guests noticed during our stay. No problem recommending this as a tourist short stay stop. Advertised as free wifi only in the lobby, we did pick up a wifi signal in the room.
The Sunroute Hotel is under the Japanese chain hotel, the interior-- from the room to the bathroom look like a typical japanese businese hotel - Neat & tidy. The staffs are friendly who speaks good japanese, english & chinese. Good location with local night street market just 3 mins walk from the hotel. Dont forget to take a look of the night market , grasps a bottle of cold taiwanese beer and try the local street food. This is the best way to experience the local culture. Pamper yourself with a taiwanese style foot massage which opens til late after a long day walk or work!
Small but ideal place to stay. Centrally located and between two metro stops, Sunroute was a good bargain. I stayed only one night but it was a comfortable one. Heated toilet seats and fast free wifi. The area is happening with plenty of places to eat and lots of cabs right at the door.
Staff on reception speak good english. location is great next to 2 mrt stations on different lines. Lots of good food options around including addiction aquatic which is walkable from hotel in 20 mins. Rooms small but reasonable size, room to swing a cat if you want to, clean and ours was quiet at back of building-we even had a mini view on some low rise houses. Security also good. We didnt try the breakfast. The bathroom was funny, very clean and fine but seemed all molded out of single piece of plastic...like stepping into enormous portaloo! Lacks any kind of character but at the budget end of hotels in Taipei (generally expensive ?!) it over performs in all other categories. Aircon was the old fashioned kind-vent in ceiling -and a little noisy but the kind of noise you get used to in an hour and then forget about.…
We had our pre-wedding shooting in Taipei. We chose this hotel because it was near the photo-shoot company. We stayed there for four nights. Although the room was small, the soft lights and interior design gave us a comfortable and relaxing feeling. The bed was really comfortable. The room and toilet were very clean! The cleaning staff was really responsible to make sure our room clean every day. There were many restaurants near the hotel. There is a famous street for trying local street food. It is called Shuangcheng Street Night Market. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
business hotel with many japanese. you may feel you are in japan as all the set up looks the same in japan. price is good for one night at TWN3450 for 2 (twin room) with breakfast. room size is quite spacious compare to single room. wifi is good there too as you only need to login one time.surroundings also good with small shops, night market, massage
