Hotel room was very spacious and comfortable. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. They responded promptly to my complaint about smell of cigarettes, I was so impressed. However, I will not go there again. It is because my uncomfortable feeling about the buffet breakfast: when you get in, they will remind you your mealtime is 90 minutes; the dining table is too small for 2 persons, forks and knives will get fallen if you don't pay attention; they turn off the light when the buffet breakfast time is up! The staff in the restaurant seldom smile! This time I will stay at Taipei 3 nights as last time, when I imagine how the breakfast there would be, I have decided to give another similar-level hotel a chance.
Kai Hua Lou was one of the Hotel Metropolitan Premier’s restaurants. I got to enjoy a delivered meal from them during my quarantine. It was one of the nicer meal presentation as well the most satisfying I enjoyed in quarantine. The duck was tender and juicy. The sticky rice was substantial with lots of thinly sliced mushrooms. Cabbage and tofu sides rounded out the meal along with a sweet steamed cake dessert. I enjoyed the takeout meal and from this dining experience I would visit the actual restaurant in the future.
