My husband and I had such a great stay at this Courtyard by Marriott Taipei Downtown. The breakfast at MJ Kitchen is 5-star phenomenal, and the staff are so courteous, helpful and friendly! The rooms are nice and are on the higher floors of the building, which allows for nice views. We stayed on 17 by the fitness center facing north, which faces some mountains. I really liked the location of this hotel. It's about 5 minutes from the Metro station where you can go anywhere in the city, and there's a local bus stop right in from of the hotel. It's also 5 minutes from Taipei's Main train station so we took the Metro from the airport to the Main train station, then a taxi, and it was just a few dollars in total including train fare. I think it's a better option than taking a taxi or Uber which can cost more. The hotel helped us arrange a private taxi to take us on a tour to Yilan, where we visited Kavalan Whiskey distillery. The hotel is about 15-20 minute walking to the main fish market, where they have amazing seafood options. It's a safe, easy walk and really worth going if you like seafood. I would definitely stay at this Marriot again! Note: there are 2 different Courtyards by Marriott in Taipei.…
Visited this hotel again and still good. Especially learn GM Dario has run this hotel for a year since he has a great experience on running Fairfield in Taichung. Wish he can shine this hotel and make the guests' stay joyfully. It is a simple stay but feel cozy and relax. The only expecting point is to open the lounge since it's always closed due to COVID (is it an excuse? ) Just a simple stay and enjoy the quiet moment in Taipei!
8 hrs layover so couldn’t enjoy all the amenities Checkin - quick and welcome surprise to be upgraded with Taipei 101 view (1705). Room: nice and cozy. Quite spacious with sitting area and large sofa to chill and relax. Bathroom: shower and separate deep tub. Very clean and modern! Would definitely return when in Taipei and enjoy all the hotel and surround has to offer.
Rooms are new and clean. Amenities are bare basic at this property. Elite guests receive very little to no additional value. Titanium and Ambassador levels received no suite upgrades, got maybe a view upgrade. Rooms are very tight, bathrooms are tiny. Rooms near the elevator or service entrance are noisy. location of property is decent. a good food street a couple of blocks from the property. No beverages provided in mini-fridge, free or for charge. Not even spoons in provided in room. Club lounge was still closed as of Dec, no offer to provide any sodas or other beverage to elite guests room in lieu of no lounge access. Breakfast at first floor restaurant is likely one of the worst I've had at a Marriott property. Be warned if you dont reserve a time slot in advance you may get rejected, even if the place is half empty. Food selection was average, but food quality was truly terrible. Only the pastries were passable, all hot items were really poorly prepared. One plus is that they let you do a take out pack if you cant dine onsite. Disappointing property overall. It's new and located in a central part of Taipei. Staff are friendly and everything is well maintained. Just dont get much value here. Many other properties to choose from, I'd put this to the back of the list if you care about elite benefits.…
Excellent room with great view of the city, very comfortable bed and all one would expect in a bathroom in a hotel of this quality. Instant hot water when turning on the shower. Breakfast also excellent with huge array of choice. But I still can not work out why, with only 227 guest rooms and a large coffee shop, it is necessary to have three sittings for breakfast on weekend days. If you select the latest between 09:30 and 10:30 and happen to get up early, you are still stuck with waiting till your chosen time slot. The staff were all extremely good although I had a slight problem in the little ground floor lounge bar persuading the young lady not to drown a vodka by filling the glass right to the brim with tonic! Two other negatives relate (1) to the lack of anywhere to have a drink after 9:00 pm. Arriving back after a heavy day at 9:40 pm one evening I was so looking forward to a couple of drinks, but everything was closed! I was told I could order room service, but I have never liked the idea of drinking alone in my room. I do understand that this may be due to the recent relaxation of covid restrictions, but I cannot see that keeping the small Lounge bar open just a little longer is affected by the virus issues. (2) The news offerings on the in-room television. I totally fail to understand why an American chain hotel does not offer CNN. I accept the BBC’s world news channel is almost as good, but the signal in the hotel is not just poor, it is atrociously bad with constant interruptions during most of the day - especially in the evening. These can take the form of a break in signal from around 5 to 20 seconds usually each minute! If the BBC signal cannot be improved, what stops the hotel from showing CNN which I find in most other and even less expensive hotels in Taipei? Small points, I admit, but in total they do take away from one’s overall experience.…
This is the second time to staying in this property during the Covid-19. I have seen the quite authentic Courtyard Taipei Downtown. All employment has work so hard and professional. No matter room decoration is pretty easy, Food is on average, wine and spirit are also well-prepared. I really prefer if you are in business this place should be good to get access.
Service was excellent, close to five star service in North America. Rooms are brand new, spacious and super clean. The breakfast is delicious with an array of Taiwanese and American spreads. Location is also great. Highly recommend!
Classic contemporary sky hotel with views of almost the entire Taipei City. I book this hotel knowing that there’s Taipei 101 view from far for the NYE fireworks (although it was too cloudy and barely can see anything). While I understand during this period of the year, all hotels near Taipei 101 come with premium rates for the NYE celebration, I do suggest that it should come with certain amenities or freebies in the room to compensate some of the X3-5 the usual rates. The Premier Room I book come with usual size, signature Marriot bedding and that’s it. For USD400, I do expect a little better than just an ordinary for a Courtyard range of hotels.
The front desk is very kind and can help to provide what you need within her(his) available. I would like to thank Kelly and Maggie's help during the stay, it makes me have the good mood and is like in my own home. Hope I can visit the hotel again in the short term.
Nice building , a very lovely grand, yet intimate and warm lobby, roomy and cozy rooms are comfortable and nice, and a great bathroom with a large, deep soaker tub. Has a lovely spread of breakfast buffet, and an amazing staff~ would love to be back and enjoy this property again~
