Amazing stay!! The staff was phenomenal!! They made calls, translated, and accommodated very request. Highly recommend this hotel. Great accommodations, location is perfect for rail and taxi transport. Raymond, the concierge is absolute treasure. It was quite the nice surprise to receive a bottle of wine of wine and treats from the hotel for New Years Eve. I’d stay here again and highly recommend!!
Pluses: - location is good. 10 mins walk to Taipei main station, 20 mins walk to Ximen night market area; nanxi night market is just 3 mins walk. - Ok service; Minuses: - it is sooo old... humidity stains all over the wall... carpet with stains (who knows what is that....), smelly a bit... - Super slow wifi - had troubles with simple files sending and voice calls by Skype and wechat (video was impossible); - Breakfast is really bad... super basic and not tasty. There are many hotels much better in this area. Citizen M, Westgate, Garden hotel. This one need renovation asap....
Had an excellent stay here. A very special message for Daniel at the check in desk. He is very kind and accommodating and helped us easily with our questions. As I work in hospitality myself I think it's important to recognise excellent service, that Daniel provided. His service stands out and this means something to me when travelling. Please tell him we said so! Breakfast was exceptional and delicious . We loved the fresh fruits, miso soup and eggplant. It was all very tasty and healthy ! Specious room. Very comfortable bed. We felt like Kings here!!! Less than a 10 minute walk from Zhongshan MRT. Would definitely come back here. Great bubble tea shop 1 minute walk from hotel.
The room is spacious and comfortable. It requires about 15 minutes walk from Taipei Main Station. There is no shade in these 15 minutes walk, so if the sun is bright or under heavy rain, the walk would be a bit difficult. The overall condition of the room is nice, the only drawback is the shower area - dark and worn.
This rather plain looking hotel from the outside, once you step in surprises you with its layout, Japanese theme and staff. Our checkout process was very quick, where the lobby is located on the second floor, we were surprised our room was a light coloured wood inspired interior which was very soothing. The bathroom is very big and even had a big bathtub (see attached pic) Breakfast was great, our waiter remembered our room number each day, There were a lot of Japanese customers and hence the service, food was Japanese freindly, and most of the staff could speak Japanese too. We also asked the staff for directions, and they helpfully printed off maps and directions to the attractions were looking at, which was very helpful The amazing Nanxi night market which may be a bit smaller than other night markets, but is great is a only a few minutes walk away Would return again! Thanks staff! Just note that the MRT station is a good 15 mins walk away which is a pain if you are carrying luggage PROS Exceptional Staff, polite, knowledgable, helpful Simple but classy Japanese/Asian Inspired breakfast Modern, decent sized unique rooms CONS Distance from MRT station, a good 15 mins walk…
This hotel is not only clean and comfortable but conveniently located. Easy access to taxi within door steps, 7-11 store next door and friendly front desk associate makes it a well worthy stay for the price paid. Definitely recommend this hotel for any anyone who want to make the best of their time in Taipei.
Better for solo/couple travellers who just need a place to sleep like an Ibis/Novotel. barebones, tiny rooms (my room was the width of the bed plus 2 nightstands, no breathing room). I have a small toddler, and the lowest priced room did not have a bath but it was clean and modern. The tiles had some kind of plastic coating which was very odd. The nightstands have sharp corners so i don't recommend for parents with small children because they might hurt themselves on the corners. Overall an above-average cleanliness level (important). However don't expect international type of service here. If you lose your key card, they will charge you for it (NT$100 but still), it's petty to charge for that -- esp in this day and age!
We were 4 friends in total for the weekend and booked a double bedroom x 2! The room was spacious and clean. Had a shower and bathtub. The breakfast is good and we enjoyed the fruits and variety. The staff were professional and spoke good English. The hotel is well located not too far from Taipei Main station 10min walk and there is a good and affordable dumpling place and hot pot and also 7 eleven. There is also a gym for the sporty ones. We also got a breakfast box as we had to check out very early at 4am! I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends or family.
We booked a corner room for the extra space. It was worth it. The facitlites were good. The bed was comfortable and it was situated well for getting to see things. The concierge were pleasant enough. Breakfast was included and had a reasonable choice of things to eat.
Read other's reviews before I made the booking. I didn't expect much of it because we were only there 3 nights and needed a semi-decent place to stay. 1- Location: It is about 11 minutes walk from Taipei Main Station and about 15-20 minutes(depends on the weight/size of luggage) from the metro station on Nanjing Road. It is located in the older section of Taipei. So first-time visitors might be put-off by the appearance of its surroundings. 2- Amenities/Rooms: While it might look rough outside, I was semi pleased with the lobby area where free coffee/tea is served at most times. Although I am a VIP member of a travel booking service and was supposed to get free upgrade (when available), the better rooms were NOT available. So our room were quite small. So small that we could hardly walk around the room with our 2 medium sized suitcases open. The closet/wardrobe is also small. The bathroom seems dated although it has a bathtub and separate shower. 3-Breakfast: A good mixture of Chinese, Japanese and Western (and in that order) selections. All in all, a very average hotel for a quick stay. Definitely not something to write home about.…
