Hostel room located in a hotel. Everything was fairly clean, and amenities fairly standard. A bit of a walk to the MRT station, but close to a night market, which was nice to visit at night. Room type: Bed in mixed room of 4 Lockers • Size: Almost close to carry on size (though mine's overstuffed, so it was hard for me to confirm) Bed • Light in bunk: Y • Outlet by/in bunk: Y • Area to hang towel: Y • Bunk curtains: Y, but need both you and your neighbor to fully close your curtains for both people to have their private space • Set up bedding yourself: N • Break down bedding yourself: N Bathrooms • Number: Shared amongst the floor, though I never had issues with it being too busy (perhaps the hotel rooms have their own bathroom inside them?) • Combined toilet/shower: N • Hair Dryers: Y Common Area: Small area with a bench and table seating Amenities • Included breakfast: N, but paid breakfast was available • Laundry: Y, coin operated Notes: There is a very small gym area in the same room as the restaurant area, which contains 1 treadmill, 1 cycle, 1 bench, and a rolling bar and balls. Top opportunities for improvement: Update curtains so that each bed can fully enclose itself in curtains without their neighbor also closing their curtains. Provide shower sandals. Add dumbbells to gym.…
The light bulb kept blinking for whole night and called up the reception to check. But eventually receptionist advised us to on the light and only able to help in next day when the in-house technician available. How to sleep in a room with blinking light like disco?
CU Hotel is located a block away from Ningxia Night Market and that’s one of the reasons why it appealed to us. The hotel is also conveniently near Taipei Main Station. Since the city has zero traffic, you are assured that it only takes 10mins by cab, to get to Main Station from the hotel. Buffet breakfast is available and the minibar at the ground floor is open (free flowing!) at 6:30pm. Vegetarian option ✅ Check-in and check out was a breeze. Booking made via Agoda.
Well priced and just a few walks to the Shuanglian Station and the Ningxia Night Market. Also situated close to many food places and the Shuanglian Market, so if you want to get a bit of glimpse of the local life I think this place is good. The attendants are very friendly and even gave me tips when roaming around Taiwan/Taipei. My return flight was in the evening and checked out early, and they allowed me to leave my bags just so I can spend a bit more time seeing Taipei without the hassle of bringing my stuff everywhere. The only con was the walls are a bit thin, and a lot of other guests scream and shout in the hallway and they don't do anything about it...so you pretty much hear a lot of those especially when you are close to the shower room. Overall though, a wonderful stay and will definitely rebook when I visit Taipei again. Thank you CU Hotel. My stay was short and sweet. …
Location, price, amenities, breakfast buffet. Location is a 10 to 15min walk from the metro station. Just straightforward walk, cross a major intersection and couple of streets. It is a quiet place, with different shops nearby. During the evening there is a food market just besides it. Not as big as Shilin but you can find a variety of meals to try. The hotel has 24 hr reception. Which is located on the 2nd floor. The ground floor is for the function hall (where the breakfast buffet and evening snack is, as well as a small gym). They do have elevator in the premise. The hotel floor is carpeted and it is quiet. Staff are friendly and speak good english. They smile and answer queries kindly. They even let us check-in early when we got there at no cost. We did not even request for it, we were just going to drop our luggage by they let us get a room already. Room has a big bed. Really nice and clean. Bathroom, same as in other place in Taiwan, don't have a bidet. They have hot/cold shower, plenty of towels, a TV, lamps, bedside drawer, a place to put your luggage but no hangers or clothes rack. They also have an electic kettle, cups, and some tea. They will replace the toiletries and drinks when they clean. There is a yoyo and a puzzle you can keep. They offer airport pickup and drop off. Breakfast buffet is delicious. Lots of variety, from bread, cereal, rice porridge to make your own noodles. Recommend this place. …
The room is slightly small but might be reasonable for a 3-star hotel. It is located near a Metro station, a few traffic lights away. Convenience store and many eateries are nearby, and night market is just a stone's throw away. The price of S$75 per night with breakfast is reasonable.
Very pleasantly surprised with an excellent stay at this hotel arranged by our agency. From cleanliness of the rooms, to a delightful breakfast spread and warm service all round! Locating is AMAZING. Plenty of shops around! Night market to the left and massage centers to the right. Definitely value for money and I’ll highly recommend it!
I purchased the most expensive room. I was given a tiny, dark room with wrong bed type. Bed type and room size were not like what I booked and expected. The hotel refused to remedy the situation. It was quite unbelievable but it happened -- be warned that you might not get the room type that you initially booked.
First, the bad. We stayed at this hotel over the Christmas-New Year holidays. I travelled with my family (3 adults and 1 child), and informed the hotel before hand of the 3 adults staying. The hotel said it will charge me extra for the additional adult, which was fine. But I was surprised when they charged me for a 4th adult for my child. I complained to them and said my child should not count (or at least be given a discount). The front desk said child is only up to 5 years old. My daughter was 8--so they charge her as an adult. I thought this was a bad guest service. Considering I paid 3 times the price for holiday premium, they could've waived my child's fee. (mind you, the additional fees did not give us an extra bed) That said, the hotel is located in the Datong Area of Taipei, which is west of the city. It is around a 10 minute walk from the Shuanglian Station (Red) line. So it's near the Shilin area. There is a Mcdonalds, MOS Burger, and Louisa Coffee along the way to the MRT Station. At night, the hotel is just next to the Ningxia Night Market. So, there is a lot of local food around the area. The room we got was a twin bed room. And these rooms don't have any windows. Size is small. But bed is comfortable, and A/C is good. TV has Chinese and English channels. Water bottles are regularly stocked. Bathroom is made of glass. There is frosting in the midsection, but still not much privacy. So I would avoid this hotel if you are travelling with friends (unless that's your thing). The breakfast time is between 7 to 9:30am (it's pretty tight compared to other hotels). Selection is local Chinese food. Noodles, congee and dimsum--not bad at all. CU Hotel is an average hotel. It's not at the center, so if there are other selections available (like in Daan or Songshan), better stay there. I'd only stay in CU Hotel, if the rates are cheaper, or if I wanted to stay in the west of Taipei.…
The front office agent pick us all the way from our guided tour bus to the hotel about 150 meters away. He was pleasant any helpful. While checking in, it was very efficient. The corridors look like a military passage way, however, they soften it with acrylic caricature like Taipei 101 any some welcome to Taiwan cartoons. I only find the passage way a little too intimidating as we need to look out for the reception signage. Perhaps a bigger any more striking signs should be placed to direct all guest. Room is without widows but beds are sure comfortable. More good reviews but too long for a write-up. They were awarded 8.4 by Agoda and also tripadvisor recommend hotel. Outskirts of hotel vincity full of stalls selling food so no worries about their breakfast. A mini gym any a laundromat is also located on the ground floor of the hotel. Two thumbs up for this hotel …
