Good location to public transportation (bus, train and MRT station) , friendly and helpful staff (friend like feeling), clean and organised facilities The only negative thing I can think of is, that there are no curtains around the bed.
The room was big, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The location has the city at your fingertips and transportation to and from the airport easy. I highly recommend Flip Flop Hostel.
Nice location, easily for me to travel from city to the nearest province or other destination very accessible. Very accommodating and helpful all the staff and pleasant environment. Clean bathroom and hallway.
Staff at Flip Flop have excellent English and will help with directions and medical supplies too if you forget to bring them. Both the single and 4 person dorm are larger than usual and dorm has 2 locked storage plus 2 shelves and lite and curtain, better than home.
Good location, near Taipei main station. Good instruction in case of late check in and/or early check out. Free storage room for luggage in case of you want to travel early or come to hotel before check in time. Near Q square and 7-11.
Had one night here before leaving Taiwan and found the stay to be comfortable - check in was easy with English speaking staff. The room was on the top floor, so it was a bit weird like an attic (slanted roof where you can stand up at one end), but I think it was the cheapest single room, so that's where the discount comes in. The room was basic but expected, and clean. Bathrooms and kitchen were also clean and had no issues. There's a single washer and dryer available but didn't use them. Luggage storage is also available for free, but it's in a common area where anyone can access it.
The staffs were very nice, friendly and helpful. The washroom and room were cleaned and tidy. Also you could do a laundry at the basement. There was free tea and you need to pay ntd 10 for a coffee. It also located near the seven eleven, cafe and restaurant. Opposite of it was a Q Square Mall and underground was a mrt. It really is a convenient location for travellers!
A great place. Nice and clean. So close to all public transports. Bus station, Taipei Main Station, Q Square - all less than 5 minutes walk from the accommodation. Highly recommended for all solo travelers.
Several months after I booked a room at this hostel, they emailed me and told me that I had to cancel my own booking because they were going to do air-conditioning repair during my visit. From looking at their own website, they seem to have block-booked every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night in late June and July, which doesn't sound like "air conditioning repair" to me. I responded to their email and they never wrote back to me. I ended paying a significantly larger sum to find a comparable room at another nearby hostel. I'm not saying it's a bad hostel (I mean, it looked nice enough for me to reserve with them!), but I am saying they treated me disrespectfully, showed poor communication skills and left me on the hook for way more money than I'd planned to spend on accommodation. Make sure you have a back-up plan if you make a reservation here.…
Very nice place to stay and meet friends. I was a solo traveler yet I did not feel that I'm alone. They have very accommodating and friendly staff that will help you in your stay and in your travel. They also have a lot of books to read when you feel not going out, so it is really like a home for me.
