Very nice and modern hostel modern, almost brand new in an historical building of Taipei. I loved absolutely everything and the kindness and attentions of the staff, especially the lady working on daytime. Perfect location, 10mn from the Main Station, super clean room and common areas, nice living room to work or relax... The only thing missing would be a window in the bedroom to make it a bit more comfy and warmer.
I would give it more than 5 stars if I could! I stayed here during my 15-day quarantine, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I stayed at the balcony suite. The room is very clean and modern. Even though they're not big rooms, the balcony made it feel much more spacious and there's plenty of light coming in. They already have Netflix set up too. The best part of it all is the hotel staff, they're extremely helpful and kind. There's a staff named Bea that would check in on me and even got me bubble tea because she knew I was working past midnight. It was the sweetest thing! The hotel staffs knew I was working US hours, they even opened up an extra delivery window at 2 am to make sure I wasn't hungry during off-hours. Even though quarantine is not a fun thing to do, staying here made it feel like my home away from home. HIGHLY highly recommend staying here! Thanks again to all the hotel staff that made my experience so pleasant and cozy! You guys are awesome!…
Hostel itself looks new and very clean. I stayed in a mix dorm of 8 and the room looks exactly like the picture. New bedding and very comfortable. Guest are given breakfast voucher provided by McDonald. 7-11 just next to their hostel. Only 3 minutes walk to the nearest entrance Y13 of Taipei City Mall, an underground market which links to Taipei Main Station (consist of TaoYuan Express Train, MRT station & coach station). 5 mins walk from hostel to TaoYuan Airport express train. (Take Y13 entrance follow the signage you should be able to locate the express train entrance, if you're taking the earliest train at 6am make sure you walk on the ground because Taipei City Mall bypass only opens at 6am.) 15 mins walk from hostel to MRT station.
We spent our new year in Taipei & stayed in Meander 1948. A very pleasant experience we had. All staffs were SUPER helpful, nice and they speak very good English. Environment is clean & cozy; location is very good, close to the Taipei Station. The coffee at Tajoha(?) is very good. Things to improve: We stayed in a 3ppl room where there's an Exit signage up above my bed with lights always-on. The staff has already covered that up trying to minimize the lights yet unfortunately... that's still so bright at night when you turned off all the lights in the room. Just like having a spotlight right above you... I had to sleep at the other end of the bed and cover my eyes with a towel trying to avoid the lights from that Exit signage. If you are someone like me who can't sleep with even a little bit of light, you may need to take this into consideration. But overall, we love our stay and would definitely recommend Meander 1948 to everyone! The whole experience was so pleasant and beyond our expectation : ) Thanks again to everyone in Meander 1948 : )…
Hotel is well located near Taipei main station and good food options including lobster ramen and a good doughnut store nearby. 7-11 is also around the corner. Rooms are clean and minimalistic. I also liked the soundtrack / music played in the common areas (should have asked if this was some Spotify track or something) - which offered cool/chill vibes for the hotel. Would say though that this is targeted more for young / solo travellers - and probably not suitable for families as a whole. Common area was comfy. Breakfast was good. Only things to pick on was prob sound proofing - could hear water in pipes late at night from other guests showering (?) and/or guests talking in the walkway. Fortunately, guests from the hotel were generally polite and good in observing silence.
Clean room, comfy bed and very helpful staffs. One comment that need to fix is just door sound which quite loud if you have bed next to the door because stay in dorm people keep get in and get out till midnight :(
Meander 1948 located near Taipei main station . 7-11 beside the hotel. Checked in and escorted by Karen who was kind and helpful . The room is clean and cozy, bed is comfortable . Love the common area at the 4th floor.
The hostel is extremely clean, has perfect location - very close to main station. I could take shower before check in and store my luggage. You can not be hungry after breakfast. The common area is just perfect, It nice to stay there and relax.
I love the hotel, the design, the bed, the bathroom. I love everything about this hotel. Stayed 4 nites here. the location is good, near MRT & have mini market besides. Worth it for the price. Definitely will come back when I visit Taipei again
Booked a Superior Double and was told that I'd got upgraded to a triple room. Room is very clean, not big but of an acceptable size. Not much of a window view as it is on the side lane. Can see the main road from the side but otherwise looks directly into another building. Blinds definitely needs to be down if you need privacy. There is a common area on the 4th level to chill and eat. One pleasant surprise was that breakfast was provided. There are 3 breakfast options, and it was tasty. But note that beverage is not provided, i.e. need to pay for coffee. Overall this place feels new, clean and bright. Very good service too from Larry at the front lobby. Last but not least, location is superb, just about 150m from Exit Y13 of Taipei Main Station, just steps away if taking the airport MRT from Taoyuan Airport…
