Excellent value - our room was larger than expected, quite comfortable for two people who have a modest amount of luggage. Good location, close to the Dadaocheng area which has a lot to explore. We mostly used buses to get in/out of this area because the subway stations were slightly further than we wanted to walk. Look for the King's Hotel sign - it's easier to find the hotel that way. Reception staff were all very friendly and spoke at least a little English (main daytime staff seemed to speak the most English).
I stayed here 3 nights in early March (originally booked 2, then extended one more). Absolutely brilliant value for money! Room was clean, comfortable bed and bedding, small window but enough natural light, modern bathroom with powerful shower, and great location in a traditional part of Taipei (10 mins walk from the Main Station; opposite 7/11, 2 mins walk from NinXia night market). Staff were friendly and spoke a little English. Room wasn’t completely soundproof but you can’t expect that quality from a budget hotel. Also it’s a little hard to locate (4th floor of a commercial building), but the Taiwanese are so friendly and you will easily find someone to point you in the right direction! I would definitely stay here again.
Rooms are good and clean and very fit for just 2 persons. You really need to search in google maps so you would not be lost in finding the hotel which is located on a fourth flr of a building. Staff are very helpful when you need something. Unli coffee and tea is awesome too! Area is close to Taipei main station where you can take the mrt to the airport with approximately 10 minutes walk and lots of convenient stores nearby for your quick needs. Nanjing night market is also very near.
Staying here 4 days with another couple! Hotel is quite hard to find, not a lot of signage outside! But once you finally spot it, you take the elevator up to floor 4 and it’s right there! Nice rooms, free WiFi and close to everything! What more could you want! Bathrooms are spacious, service is excellent and rooms are clean!
Everything was great, I enjoyed my stay truly. The downside was that the hotel is located inside a business building hence it took some time to locate the main entrance and there were a few flight of stairs to the elevator.... not recommended for people with heavy luggage.
Great value hotel considering it’s quite pricy in Taipei. The rooms are very nice and clean and quite big as well. Front desk staff is very nice and were very helpful when the airline lost my bag. The area is close to Taipei main station where you can take the metro straight to the airport. Just a 10 minute walk. There’s a 2 minute walk to a night market. There is lots of places to eat in the area. Just across the road there is an amazing hot pot restaurant. You’ll also find a great dumpling/soup fast food place, 7 eleven, Starbucks, a few local restaurants and a pharmacy within 1 minute from the hotel. Don’t miss the Belgian bar just 5 minutes down the street to the left! There’s 3 metro stations within 10 minutes walk and heaps of busses. I found that we were never further then 20 minutes away from anything really. …
Clean, and comfy! We booked 3 rooms for our family. The double bed is comfy, but the single bed's mattress seems to move easily. Receptionists speak very little english but they are very nice and helpful, especially when we want to book train ticket to Taichung. Bathroom is also very clean. There is a pantry at the lobby, you can get filtered tap water for drinking and use microwave oven. To get to this hotel, we have to pass through few old shops to the elevator, to the 4th floor. You can easily get taxi in front of the building. Overall, it was a nice stay and I recommend any type of traveller to stay here.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Good location that's about a 10 minute walk from three different MRT stations. Clean quiet rooms with comfortable bed and good shower. My only suggestion would be to remove the exit button in the room(a button you have to push to release the door). This feature seems dangerous for emergency situations. Otherwise, I was very happy with my stay here and would happily stay here again the next time I'm in Taipei.
I'd booked a single room w/o a bathroom, however, when I arrived the guy at reception told me that I probably wouldn't like the room and should consider upgrading to a double room with a bathroom for £4 extra each night. Now, this could just have been trying to up sell to me, but I nonetheless found it strange that the receptionist began my stay by almost insulting the hotels rooms? Given that I'd got some spare currency and I think £4 extra was less than had been on the website initially for that room, I did decide to upgrade purely for the bathroom to myself. The new room was indeed lovely - though pillows hard - with tv channels in every language and a 12pm check out which was great for me. The location of this hotel is also ideal, about a 10 min walk from Taipei main station, and the staff (including the guy from night 1) were exceptionally polite, helping me with maps throughout my stay and always willing to help in any way. All in all a good stay, minus the somewhat strange start!! Would entirely recommend, doesn't deserve the bad reviews I've seen - though maybe I'd have written one if not upgraded! …
