As you guys could see from my past reviews, me and my friends stayed at yi su hotel in March 2019 for the first time and had good impression, the only downside was the dirty carpet at that time. I was travelling with friends again and chose Yi Su again in the past few days. However all of us thought the hotel is now literally worn out even it was just half year from my last visit. Carpet was extremely disgusting and dirty in all the rooms we booked this time (much worse than last time) it seems our feet would get infection if we forget to put our slippers on. The wallpaper were torn and no one repaired it. There was dust on shelves etc etc Me and my friends would definitely spend maybe double of money to go for other better hotels next time. No longer a decent budget hotel here ....…
We stayed at this hotel as it was the joining and ending point for our main tour in Taiwan. This hotel is one of the more disappointing hotels we have stayed in during our travels to many countries around the world. The entrance lobby, while functional, is small, but you need to wait to take the single (and extremely slow) elevator to the second floor to check in. Check in was efficient, but even though the front desk staff had limited English skills. Once in the room, we were greeted with disgustingly dirty carpets, a flimsy, broken desk, an incredibly small, and poorly laid out bathroom that soaked everything when you had a shower and with towels so thin you could easily see through them. We stayed in three different rooms during our tour and each room continued to underwhelm us even more. The only redeeming feature of the hotel is its location. It is well situated for the MRT, night market, and exploring the old city center by foot. If we could give it a zero we would, however a very disappointed one will need to do. Travellers should look for somewhere better to stay while in Taipei.…
Great hotel situated directly across the street from one of the best food markets in the city! Great breakfast and staff. I accidentally left my valuable belongings in the safe for 3 days as I was traveling through the country (cash, credit card, passport) and they returned it in full and safely upon arrival! I will certainly consider them again next time I return!
I went to Taipei for a quick weekend trip with my friends last weekend. We booked one double room/ each person since the room rates are so low (like 45 usd/ night) The room is quite clean , everything is fine *** despite the floor *** and the hotel is still relatively new. But remember to wear your slippers since the floor seems not frequently cleaned (or maybe it was the color, pattern and texture of the floor) As I hanged out with friends till super late, we all didn't manage to go out at regular housekeeping hour but the housekeeping ladies still tidied the room even we went out nearly by the evening. The housekeeping team was terrific there Considering the price point and the quality of my stay, I would definitely book it again unless I plan to go for luxury stay.
I can’t understand the poor reviews, as I was very happy with this hotel! The rooms are small, but we had two single beds and still felt there was sufficient space. The bathroom is fine, with a very good shower. Good quality soap, shampoo etc provided. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. We did not have any problems with temperatures or air conditioning. Only reason I did not give five stars is the breakfast was a bit disappointing. Good amount of choice, but not food I enjoyed, except for the dumplings which were delicious.
The walls are paper thin. I stayed here for 4 nights, you can very easily hear people talking several rooms across the hallway. The rooms are always hot. I think the hot water system is placed inside the building rather than outside. This might make it nice in winter but in any other season it makes it quite uncomfortable, especially in Taiwan's humid climate. The air conditioner only has two settings, on and off. This makes the room either freezing cold or boiling hot. The hotel does have self-serve laundry, but it takes a really long time. Washing takes 60 minutes whereas drying will take 2-3 hours, or possibly more if you have a larger load. There is only 1 washer and dryer and it's always in demand, especially considering how long it takes to wash and dry. The location is very average. It's a 10 minute walk to the nearest subway station. I'm not sure why this hotel is rated highly online. I wouldn't stay here again. …
I stayed here a couple of times while travelling in Taiwan because it is well situated with close proximity to a night market, several convenience stores and easy walking distance to the train system. The rooms are clean but the carpet in hallways could do with a good clean.
We stayed at Yi Su booked through our Intrepid tour. The room was small but clean and modern with a fabulous bathroom. It is well located, around the corner from night markets and a short walk to the train station. We caught a taxi from the airport but will get train back when we leave for a fraction of the price (NT$1100 taxi, NT$160 train).
I booked and paid $96 U.S. dollar per night for a room in Yi Su Hotel. When I arrived, they gave me a very tiny room. It feels like staying inside a small closet. No wall or curtain separate shower room from the toilet. The entire bathroom gets wet when shower. I feel extremely uncomfortable using a wet toilet and wet floor. A very poor setting for the front desk. The front desk was on the 2nd floor and nothing or NO ONE was on the first floor by the entrance to give direction. The front desk area was so tiny with horrible seats and extremely dirty carpet. The hallway to the rooms was like a hotel out of a horror movie. The ONLY good thing was a male staff offered to bring breakfast up to my room because I had an injured ankle and can't walk to the floor level where they serve breakfast. Breakfast was not even worth what I paid for. Overall, I give one star for the male staff who brought my breakfast to me because I cannot walk to the breakfast room. I will NEVER come back to this ugly cheap-quality hotel again.…
The hotel was quite modern though the carpet could use replacing through out. The room while being clean and decent decor, was way too small especially for 2 people. I stayed in the Double Deluxe Room with a city view. It was certainly smaller than the already quoted small size of 19 sq metres! The local view was good except the windows on the outside needed cleaning, and were hard to see through. Also, the bath room did not have a seperate shower, so the floor would get completely wet when I took a shower. I find that annoying. Despite my hotel room being at the end of the hall, there was a lot of noise from other guests through the night and early morning. There are a lot of groups that were staying at the hotel during most of my stay. The walls are not sound proof and are thin. The included buffet breakfast was average though the choices were not bad. Some days were better than others. …
