Cape Sienna Gourmet Hotel & Villas garners mixed reviews on its value, with some guests finding it budget-friendly while others encounter overpriced services. The hotel's cleanliness generally impresses, though occasional issues with room readiness are noted. Its amenities, including ocean view suites and diverse dining options, are frequently lauded, despite some suggested improvements.
While the reception and views often dazzle visitors, external noise can detract from the serene atmosphere. Room spaciousness and comfort are well-regarded, yet design and cleaning inconsistencies surface in critiques. The picturesque location earns praise for its sea views and convenience, and while many guests appreciate the friendly service, some experiences of unprofessionalism are reported.

We stayed at Cape Sienna for just over two weeks end of March / early April 2024, on a recommendation from family.
There is no doubt this hotel is one of the best in the local area, its location on the cliffs overlooking Kamala beach is stunning! Each area of the hotel from the Vanilla Sky bar, Isola restaurant, pool and pool bar/ breakfast restaurant takes advantage of the views brilliantly! The architecture of the hotel is modernist and clever use of space and light creates a sense of calm and flow.
The staff are so friendly, professional and helpful.
We paid an extra £300 for a room with sea view and we were not disappointed. The rooms are of good enough size although having the wash basin in the main room and not separate is not a feature we are fans of!
The breakfast offers great choice and is of great quality.
Across the narrow main road is another part of the hotel called Sienna Rocks, a beautiful cafe w very welcome A/C, great menu and even better cocktails. It has steps down to another dip pool and a few sun loungers with parasols too. It does close at 5pm promptly!
Given the standard of the hotel you can expect to pay far more for meals and drinks than down in the town!
The town is a 10 minute walk away and comprises of a beach front with stalls, bars and restaurants. And a winding narrow street with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. The standard of toilets in the town are variable from unusable to good enough. We particularly like Shimmer Bar and Restaurant at the far end of the beach in Hotel Continental.
The management of Cape Sienna are in danger of over relying on its stunning location and amazing staff as there are a few areas that require attention for this hotel to be able to truly consider itself 5-star!
The availability of sun beds can be challenging and the situation with towels being left on beds by patrons who have no intention of returning to those beds is an issue! A simple towel card system would remedy this and works well in other 5 star hotels we have stayed in around the world.
There are not enough staff on duty to keep the pool side tidy so often there is a build up of glasses (hardened plastic for safety!) poolside making it feel quite neglected!
Poolside needs more mopping and cleaning. There were tiny ants on tables and around some of the detritus left by patrons.
The hotel is at risk of looking dated if the standard of cleaning does not improve and you can already see areas where this is taking effect (see photos). Likewise the standard of cleaning in the rooms could be improved. First impressions of this hotel are amazing but the longer you stay the more the issues I have highlighted become noticeable. However, we would recommend the hotel and really hope the management can prevent the hotel from declining any further.

Just returned from a 4-night stay at Cape Sienna Phuket. The main selling point is absolutely the ocean view – it's spectacular and exactly as advertised. We stayed in the Sea View Honeymoon Suite and watching the sunset from our private balcony jacuzzi was definitely a highlight of our trip.
The room itself was spacious and modern. Everything was clean and comfortable. The location is relatively quiet, which we appreciated.
For those considering options, we also looked at the Sea View Jacuzzi Junior Suite. While it's more budget-friendly, you still get gorgeous ocean views – just not quite as panoramic as the Honeymoon Suite. Is the price difference worth it? That depends on your priorities. If you're celebrating a special occasion and want the absolute best views, go for the Honeymoon Suite. If you're looking to save some money but still want that beautiful ocean experience, the Junior Suite won't disappoint.
One of our best dining experiences was right at the hotel's Vanilla Sky Bar. The 360-degree ocean views are simply spectacular, especially during sunset.
The food quality exceeded our expectations for a hotel restaurant. Unlike many rooftop venues that rely solely on views to attract guests, the kitchen here actually delivers on taste; also, the quality and ambiance make it worthwhile.
If you're planning to dine during sunset hours (which I highly recommend), make a reservation in advance. The best viewing spots fill up quickly, especially during peak season.
For guests debating whether to dine in or out, I'd definitely recommend at least one dinner here. It's convenient after a long day of activities, and you're not compromising on food quality for that convenience.

We stayed at Cape Sienna (Kamala Beach) hotel as part of a TUI package. Arrival was efficient and friendly with our cases taken to our ocean view junior suite, our room was available early so that was great after a long flight. The view from the junior suite was okay, as you actually looked over the rooftop of another bedroom block. The balcony had 2 chairs and a table, plus the whirlpool bath, unfortunately not as romantic as it sounds due to not getting any sunshine at any point in the day. Sitting on the balcony in the evening was okay, but spoilt by external music mainly from the booming tuk-tuks. Road noise was an irritation but not a huge issue. The pool area is adjacent to the breakfast/dining area and poolside service is available. Sunbed availability is typically a bun fight, with the usual culprits throwing towels on and then going downtown for a massage - how selfish! There are 3 restaurants - al a carte, rooftop and poolside. The rooftop has low-key entertainment a few nights a week and finishes early at around 8:30pm, great for those sleeping early! Price wise the dishes are about twice the price of similar ones downtown, but sometimes it's nice not to leave the hotel. Food quality was good with a choice of Asian and Western menus. The walk into town takes 6-7 minutes but there are no footpaths to talk of, so not particularly pleasant. Staff are friendly and attentive, no complaints from us. The official rating is 5 stars, we think it is only 4 stars depending on what and where you compare it with. The biggest negative for us was the constant traffic noise and irritating tuk-tuks, albeit no fault of the hotel. Careful hotel selection doesn't always reveal all concerns. That said we had a great time during our stay at Cape Sienna hotel.

The structure is absolutely not 5 stars, perhaps a poor 4 stars, also because the construction is a bit old. The breakfast apparently seems well supplied but exclusively for Asian customers while for Europeans and Americans it is poor. Cleaning is according to standards while bed linen changes must be requested. In general, the quality/price ratio is completely against customers. The restaurant's cuisine is of a good standard while the service is very slow.

The Good: The view, the location, and the rooms (kind of)
The Bad: The property is showing its age, with outdated design and somewhat dilapidated parts
The Ugly: Service was sub-par with staff being under trained and not anywhere near as polite or friendly as other competing properties in the region. Perhaps their hiring practices need to change as the staff were clearly not of a calibre required in this segment. Several incidents over my 3 night stay confirmed this, including requesting the room to be cleaned three times over 3 hours before it was finally done. Moreover, as a guest i felt quite anonymous and not at all welcomed.

Me & my partner absolutely loved our stay at Cape Sienna from the moment we entered the hotel to the minute we left.
Rooms were beautifully modern & spotless clean. gorgeous view of Kamala beach ☀️
I loved the little touches in the room from flower petals on the bed to lovely aroma melts burning away giving the room a lovely fresh scent.
Breakfast I really enjoyed the variety of fresh fruit , and plenty of choice of other things (something for everyone) the only thing I would say is the staff cooking breakfast weren’t always the most friendly especially when I asked for my omelette to be cooked a bit longer as I didn’t like runny egg. But apart from that I can’t complain about anything else.
Pool area is gorgeous with the most stunning views (sun loungers get them fast) we only managed to get them a few times out the two week stay.
You can borrow the hotels beach towels or pool towels free of charge as long as you return the same day.
Cape sienna was a 10 minute walk down to Kamala beach, shops, bars & restaurants which we didn’t mind we done it every night because we loved going out, and a 15min taxi away from Patong if you fancy more nightlife (we used grab taxi app) worked out £5 each way.
Cocktails at the hotel were my favourite ❤️
We only ate at the hotel pool bar a few times which was always lovely & ordered room service once , as we were always busy out doing different things and exploring the island we didn’t spend lots of time in the hotel.
All in all I would recommend CS and will definitely be returning again. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

We loved this hotel, rooms were big and comfortable and close to the bar and pool. Kamala is a short 10 minute walk away with restaurants, bars and market. The people of the town were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. In the hotel I found the reception staff could be a little ‘off’ sometimes. On arrival our room wasn’t ready even though they knew what time we would arrive, after a full day of travelling it would have been nice to have gone straight to our room and shower rather than having to wait for over an hour. The poolside bar and restaurant offered a good choice of food and drink. Staff there were lovely and could enough! Don’t go to the cafe across the road, not a lot of choice and expensive!

Just got back after spending 14 nights at the excellent Cape Sienna Hotel. We had booked via TUI and arrived about 6.30 am. Check in time is normally 2.00 pm so we were worried our room might not be ready. We had breakfast by the pool and the room was ready at 8.00 am. We had a standard room which had fantastic panoramic views of the bay and the fishing boats. Very well appointed and all fittings were of a high standard. The bed was firm and comfortable, you can also choose your pillow if the standard ones do not suit you. Large walk in shower and separate toilet. We found all the staff very friendly and polite. Without exception they were very helpful if we needed advice or service. The food at breakfast covered a wide spectrum of tastes and was of a very high quality. On a number of occasions we ate at the poolside restaurant and the Sienna Rocks Cafe across the road. Again this was very high quality and reasonably priced.(UK prices). You can get cheaper food in the local restaurants, but we did not find anywhere that approached the standards offered by the Cape Sienna Hotel. Plus you are in an outstanding location, and on several days we did not leave the tranquility of the Hotel. We did not eat in the other restaurants as they seemed expensive, but i am sure the quality of the al a carte food would be high. The pool area on the days we were there was quiet, even though most of the sun loungers were occupied. The infinity pool across the road was even more tranquil. All area were leaned regularly plus the fabric of the hotel was maintained to a high standard. If you venture out of the hotel it is 5 minute walk to the nearest shops and a further 5 minutes to the beach and Kamala village. There is no footpath on this road down to the shops only a white line,so care needs to be taken. It is however well lit at night. We visited 3 beaches Kamala on foot or hotel courtesy bus; Surin and Bang Tao are a 10 minute taxi ride away. There are numerous taxi ranks around and the price varied, but on average it cost about 400 baht (£11) each way. All 3 are great for swimming with soft sand and tree lined shade along the beaches. Numerous beach restaurants along the beaches of varying quality and cleanliness. Sun loungers with umbrella and table are 200 baht all day. In summary a fantastic hotel with beautifal views.

We stayed here over the new year period. The view from the hotel is absolutely breathtaking. The new year celebration was amazing - well worth it.
If you’re after rooms with stunning views of the water and beautiful sunsets then we suggest the jacuzzi ocean view room!
If you don’t have an ocean view room there are still plenty of places to see sunsets and beautiful views like the vanilla sky bar and the pool area.
Food: We didn’t try prime steak house but hear it’s very romantic. The pool food was fine. Breakfast buffet is big and will have something for everyone. We have had better. Vanilla sky food was great! There is also the Rocks Cafe across the road from the resort. It was never full.
Pool: There are two pools. The main one with the pool bar. The water was somewhat cold and half of the pool is mostly in the shade most of the day, there isn’t too much sun. The lounge chairs fill up fast - by 9:30am they are all taken so you have to get in quick. The mats on the lounge chairs are mostly broken so they slide down quite a bit, which is just not acceptable when you’re paying what you are to stay there. They do allow kids in the pools so it can get loud.
The other pool is at the Rocks cafe. It’s very quiet and mostly empty of people, so if you want quiet time you can go there. The water is colder but the view is much better as it’s an infinity pool.
Wifi: They do have wifi but it’s very bad. The worst we experienced while we stayed in Phuket. Very slow, so working from there would not be suggested.
The staff were very friendly but it took a long time to fulfil room service asks such as extra towels or waters (1+hr) Some people found this very frustrating.

A great hotel very clean with a complete breakfast offered However the restaurants had to be pre booked for evening meals And the free buggy to the beach also was a pre booking, and with the hotel being up a hill this meant a walk to the beach and the main strip, to get back to the hotel we always had to get a tuck tuck which cost 200 THB, Kamala area is a great place to be at and it aloud us to travel around Phuket by local bus or taxi or tuck tuck all very affordable I would definitely recommend Kamala beach for anyone travelling to Phuket
