This was our second time at Combe House. We were competing at Wiscombe hill climb and it's really convenient for that and many other places. Chris is so welcoming, tea and home made cakes on arrival, and also flexible as we needed an early breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and spotless. The food delicious. We will be returning.

We are a huge fan of Combe House. It is our bolt hole from London and our go-to place when we need fresh air and peace. The beds are deliciously comfortable and we sleep like a log. The linen is soft and fresh, the pillows fluffy. The whole house is spotlessly clean and feels so cosy and relaxing. I am...

What a great review!! Thank you so much. Bits and pieces of guests comments help future visitors - it also means I have to keep my house clean and tidy...!! Chris.

Family break in East Devon for Easter holiday. Great base for walking, exploring the Jurassic coastline and seeing family & friends. This is a lovely, ancient cottage with three good sized bedrooms, a classic cottage garden and a relaxed breakfast room. Chris is an excellent and relaxed host and cook. A sea of calm in a beautiful part of Devon....

Combe House is a beautiful old house in the centre of this attractive little Devon town. Landlady Chris is gave us a warm welcome and greeted us with tea and home-made cake. Lovely old rooms but with comfortable beds, modern ensuite shower room and efficient heating which made it super cosy in freezing February weather. Excellent cooked breakfast. Chris is...

Thank you Carole for the lovely review - and for your time spent writing it! I'm on a painting session at the moment - keeping the rooms fresh and bright. Marmalade making too as the Seville oranges are here for such a short time. Thanks again from Chris.

We couldn't fault Combe House. Chris is very hospitable and makes a mean cup of tea! The accommodation is extremely comfortable and well presented and the breakfast is generous, with a wide choice. We will certainly return. Highly recommended.

Greeted with tea, cake and cookies.... I was a little confused if I was just a boy from 1972 and reliving my younger SW'er visits with family! Refined, warm and traditional property. Fresh air, v.clean/comfortable bedding/bedroom with modern ensuite toilet & bathroom. Light fruit/museli starter followed by an 'Agra' cooked full English.... Recommend as a stop or full stop :)...

Very pleasant, clean and tidy room and comfortable bed Breakfast excellent (enough to keep a teenage son fed until evening!). Chris very friendly and helpful with cake and a brew on arrival. It is located in a very small town so everything is within only short walking distance ( pubs, shops, places to eat and tannery). Great base for visiting...
