Although situated across from the central station this hotel has a very quiet location, old fashion rooms no frills but in very good condition, excellent beds, plenty of windoes and a fan, mini bar, seating area, small bathrooms, plenty of private and free parking, wifi , excellent breakfast, and a fantastic gastronomical experience in the restaurant, a real pleasant surprise, a bar and inside and outside seating, dogs are welcome
The hotel is across the street from the Marktreditz train and bus station. The staff at the hotel is very nice. The room was clean..watch out, no AC! The shower was little, but clean. Surprisingly, the bed was comfortable and the noise across the street did die down during sleeping time. The breakfast amenities were good. FYI you can get a good meal in the hotel restaurant.
Meister Bär Hotel is an unusual choice in the town Marktredwitz in the sparsely populated Easter Bavaria. I chose it for its position in front of the train station, and the location could be the best if not the only asset of the hotel. It looks pretty unusual from the outside, with a multicolored facade directly out of some surrealist dream (or nightmare), while inside is a bit more sober but still rather unique. All these elements would be good, especially if matched with the friendly young staff at the desk, but then the rooms are a huge let-down, with dated and tired furniture, stained walls, obviously colorful curtains unable to stop the lights from the street and an uncomfortable bathroom. The breakfast is quite good though. The hotel seems to be pretty busy organizing events during the year like brunches and so, and is clearly a major reference point in town, but for travelers probably not ideal.…
Unfortunately, the "administration" is chaotic. Cost absorption and reservation are sometimes found, sometimes not. Breakfast is not worth its name, it is "ridiculous". In the rooms there is usually a humming ventilation or you can hear the other guests. The alarm call in the morning is a matter of luck, often they forget it. I was glad that my alarm clock woke me reliably. All in all something that is ok for a night and business traveller, but nothing you have to have again and again. I recommend going out for breakfast or bringing something. Breakfast there can be saved in every way.
I suppose the red and orange striped lidt says it all. Tryibg to look like a toy box and faiiling. Room tiny and bathroom 1 matre by 2 metres. Cannot swing a mouse let alone a cat. Nice bar that gives its only star. Tiles missing in bathroom. Urtains 6 inch too short. Lasers coming in from hotel front. Never again.
