A completely unique holiday experience with not a TV in sight. Mira was an excellent guide and we really enjoyed our snow shoeing which included a reindeer pita cooked over a camp fire. We also loved the husky sleigh ride and trip to the reindeer farm (although wish the huskies went quicker). The snowmobiling over the frozen lake was great fun. The real appeal is that the group size of most of the activities was only 6 and the hotel is very remote. Can honestly say that I have never been anywhere so quiet and relaxing. You literally can not hear anything for miles. The other attraction is that there are no children and only a 30 minute transfer from the airport. Free WIFI in the main hotel. We were lucky enough to see the Northern lights from literally outside of the hotel and

We have been staying at Nangu for several nights and the setting of the Hotel is really beautiful. Our guide Mira was excellent and very enthusiastic about everything. The Cross skiing with her was very nice. But: The temperature in the room was far to high and we could not regulate it. We even sometimes opened the door to get some (very cold ) air into the room during the night. The food was not the standard we would have expected and the organisation of the trips sometimes does not work. e.g. no one told us that we could have rent some skis and go on our own, instead of that we did stay in the Hotel after the morning trip. That is a pity . During the booking process I would have loved to see that my mails get answered in between one day and not 3. I wanted to go with some

I booked Nangu after much research and was happily not disappointed, in the main: It is an adult only hotel, understandably so given its remoteness, on edge of an enormous frozen lake all covered in deep, deep snow that you would sink into off the main tracks, it is truly stunning. Although most of the time it was overcast and dark, we still saw some lovely colours in the sky and the day we left, sky was clear, bright and beautiful, we actually felt sad to leave! The hotel is very new and I booked direct which was not beneficial in any way. Unlike other guests we received no pre-trip information apart from confirmation of flight details for airport transfers. However we were given I believe an upgraded room in the main building - quite large with a table and chairs for x6 (!)

If you want remote , then this is the place . Non commercial and yet very warming hospitality . All the staff really are passionate about their countryside and their foods . My fiancé and I have just returned from 4 nights here and we had the most amazing time . We would usually head to the Caribbean in January but thought " why not " when we saw this place had just opened its doors . We studied the internet for the weather etc and went fully prepared for minus 28 degree temperatures ( some visitors didn't and paid the price ). We must have pinched ourselves a dozen times to make sure we were not dreaming this experience . Dog sledding for 4 hours , snow mobiling day and night , tracking wild reindeer , snow shoeing through the forests and across frozen lakes , snow as deep as

We stayed at Nangu just a couple of weeks after they first opened the doors, having booked the trip with The Aurora Zone. We had a superior room (of which there are 5). The room was basic but spacious and had a large, very comfortable bed. The room was warm and had a large window and a great bathroom with shower. There are about 25 rooms in total at the hotel. The hotel is hosted by brilliant staff - they are all welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. They let us keep our room until late in the afternoon when the airport closed due to snow! The transfers were excellent and we felt very safe being driven on roads that I wouldn’t dream of driving on in the UK due to the amount of snow (and reindeer!) Activities included husky sleigh riding, reindeer feeding and a trip to a Sami
