We were here for walking with friends and to taste the atmosphere from this part of Germany. It is very well located and their restaurant is good and also the ' Stube' (bar) in the evening. We had even live music on Sunday morning with a real big band from the region. Great! Our rooms were very simple, although we... More

We had a remarkable gourmet German dinner of wild game, pumpkin risotto and the kids had the best Wiener schnitzel in their lives. The wine selection was excellent. Overall good value for money in the restaurant-good quality and excellent service. The clientele seemed to be business groups, traditional German families, well heeled older German couples and some foreign tourists like... More

I have been going to Oberkirchen my whole life, but only stayed at Schutte's for the past few years. It has always had a good reputation but three years ago seemed quite tired... not this time! The rooms in the main house have had a complete refurb and the standard is high, in good taste, brought up to 21st century... More

A traditional hotel with large (family) rooms, a very nice dinner (halfboard) and very friendly staff. The indoor pool is large, the fitness room small but well equiped. Outsite there is plenty of space for the children to play (football) and in front of the hotel there is a nice terrace. We had an excellent stay

In the German ski area around Winterberg on the Kahler Asten Mountain is a small village of Oberkirchen. Located in this small village is the great hotel run by the family Schütte (20th generation). The decor is traditional and well maintained. Rooms are big and good, the general areas are very good equipped such as the bar and the kids... More

We booked two nights with a special dinner package. Always nice to be welcomed by the owner himself, who showed us our room as well. That was in the old part the complex, and by old I mean the age of the building (it's in the family for more then 500 years ...), so the disadvantage was the height of... More
