We came here for a family Christmas holiday, our daughters and sons-in-law and grandchildren for skiing and ourselves for snow shoeing. Before we came we had been disappointed to learn that our hosts had changed and James and Mel were now in charge. We need not have worried for James produced consistently excellent and innovative food and a perfect Christmas...

Chalet Bazilhote sits only metres from the piste in this charming ski resort. It is conveniently located and has been lovingly re-constructed in a simple but charming and rustic style. The rooms are comfortable and cosy, with the lounge area affording a truly relaxing environment - perfect for your apres-ski wind-down. What makes this place truly delightful, however, are the...

Having skied many different resorts in France and therefore stayed in many different kinds of lodgings Basilhote is not the standard crammed concrete cage you find many places in France. St Foy is a village that is expanding with many newly build apartments blocks. Bazilhote is not part of this as it is one of the original barns that has...

Enough here to satisfy a mixed party of skiiers and boarders of varying abilities, both on and off piste, with day trips to other larger resorts well within reach if you so desire. Ski in-ski out is always a pleasure. The chalet is cosy and comfortable, but what really sets it apart is the warmth of the welcome and the...

Sainte Foy is a great little resort. While the pisted areas are fairly limited (but ideal for families) in comparison to the bigger resorts in the Isere valley, given a fresh snowfall the off-piste possibilities are endless. Basilhote is perfectly placed at the top of a short slope leading down to the main lift serving the resort. The chalet itself...

A stunning chalet in a perfect setting. Ste Foy is a wonderful resort - a hidden gem with amazing skiing and scenary. Some of the best off piste skiing, with great on piste quiet runs. The food at the chalet is second to none - you will dream about it afterwards. A great place to go.

Having never heard of Ste Foy a Tarentaise, I was naturally suspicious to see what the skiing would be like. I've pretty much been to most continents and therefore have high standards. This area definitely doesn't disappoint. Mostly known by locals and a small-ish idyllic town makes the ski-in and ski-out an absolute pleasure. High enough for all round good...

Bazilhote is a no frills chalet with rare ski-in ski-out convenience. The main reason for returning is simply the cooking, which us truly amazing. Peter and Terry (female!) are excellent hosts and Peter takes great pride in his amazing and varied three course meals.
