It was one of the best 2 days of my life. Starting from the manager, Vijay and all cooks. They all made sure that we have the best time. Made new friends, who became a part of traveler's family. Kudos to Zostel! Looking forward to Zostel Kodaikanal soon.
I did wfh from zostel coorg for 8 days. The place is beautiful and equally peaceful. If you just sit still you can hear all the birds chirping and nature like never before.(I stay in a concrete jungle in Bangalore) I fell in love with the place and the vibe there. Sharon who is the property manager in zostel coorg is such a fine host. He was very kind and modest. He provided all the information and guidance needed to explore the places nearby and went out of his way again and again to help the backpackers there. He made it into a community for real. The staff with Shiv, Somu, Bubai and Pratap were really cool folks who made great food and also maintained the place really well. Just loved the experience of it all and I am coming back soon.
In a single word....it's just awesome to stay in Zostel Coorg. This is my 2nd stay in Zostel after Ooty..n the same positive vibes I feel.its 26km away from madekeri town surrounded by coffee garden..If You want to come here my suggestion is to come with ur own vehicle or hire a bike from Madekeri which I did.its unforgettable 2days stay with some amazing hostelmates and Mr.Sharoon(property manager) who will give you a great comfort feel from the moment u reach zostel.and I'll also mention other staffs of the property who will ensure a great stay there. I will like to visit here again and again..
An amazing little Zostel with amazing staff who makes it so. They are anxious to please and keen to make you feel at home and happily turns an ordinary hostel experience into a pleasure. Rooms are clean and well maintained. If you're confused about what to do in Coorg, look for Sharon. He can make plans in an instant, and if you're lucky enough, you get to ride with him! 10/10 service!
For being a place in everyone's budget to being a great social experience - Zostel Coorg with the 98% overwhelming positive reviews is also a place for young, exploring minds and hearts regardless of what language you speak and where you are from in India. These are places where the young need to find a place among each other. This place is not a resort for your rupees or dollars, this place is not a community centre too or a recluse for the anti-social. It's simply similar to a back-packer hostel version for a normal curious and open minded desi in you. You get common spaces where you let your identify a little more freedom to know and understand people you meet on your one stop or multiple stop saga or holidays. Most of the people I have been with are on a self discovering journey or sorts, some on validation or flow states of minds, some just escapist, some curious and first time adventurous ones, some first time out after the pandemic, some with loved ones and many just solo looking or spending time away from loved ones, some setting out on their first adventures, so varied are each of those stories but yet we all arrive or desire to arrive in such places. From doctors, to teachers, to students, to mid-level executive on mid-life crisis, young women who just want to sense freedom, schoolmates catching up after decades.. the list is long and so are all of us who are seeking such places. And yes we also have these kind of guest too.. A-Listers (but cheap trill seekers) B-listers (mostly corporate slaves who think everyone in the service industry is their heirloom) and a lot of C-listers (complain about service and cleanliness but can't pick up their plates or cup after use or can't stub the cigarette in the ash trey) Places like this need A) Reasonable people who are reasonable on a holiday too B) People who do not judge and are open to new experiences C) People who believe in the power of travel and human to human experience. @mystixg…
