After booking a suite in the Chateau to include Dinner of which we sent a separate request several weeks in advance on your joint site(Booking.Com) we arrived to be told there was no Dinner available and did we want Breakfast! Then to be told the Central Heating had broken down on what was a bitterly cold night. No welcoming log...

Stayed here with family last year. In sum: Great hosts Great room Great beds Great breakfast Great ambience Situated in a remote wine country, make sure your GPS is calibrated properly to find this place. Great chateau with great experience like the novelties!

Room was charming but rustic - very shabby chic. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Dinner and breakfast both excellent served in amazing surroundings. Very calm and peaceful but there is huge amount of space and a pool so our kids were happy.

Wonderful place to stay - conveniently close to Saumur and Chinon, with beautifully decorated interior, set in lush large garden grounds, small pool, comfortable rooms and welcoming owners - full of good advice for places to go and very sweet - they gave us an apero (loire valley special wine) on arrival and were always about if you needed anything....

We went to la Coutanciere in August. Service and welcome by the owners (it's clear that this is a passion project for them) was wonderful especially the delicious sparkling Saumur wine aperitifs. Breakfast each morning had a wide selection and was always filling. The rooms are lovely and large and the period decoration is stunning. The study and hunting trophy...

We ( 2 mature couples)stayed at the chateau last Friday evening ( Aug 22 2015) and thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay for one night. We were welcomed by the Dutch owner and I liked her quiet friendliness. After travelling for 6 hours we were delighted to be shown to our big rooms ( with even bigger bathrooms!), and have time...

We are two mature couples and stayed recently for one night. Eugene made us very welcome! Our rooms were tasteful and authentic, and huge! Very comfy beds! No lift obviously. There is a lovely swimming pool and a friendly dog called Roger. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with fresh croissants, breads and eggs cooked to order.

We stayed here in July 2013 for a few nights. The property is beautiful - lovely pool, expansive grounds and we had a very large, airy room which looked out towards the pool. The town itself is very tiny, but great for a couple of days rest and relaxation in the middle of a bustling 5 week like ours. Would definitely...

Warm and friendly hospitality in this Loire-castle. Gently and nice renovated with romantic and historic interior design. Big flourishing park with swimmingpool and bathtub. Pity they don't have a restaurant any more. I would love to return - highly recommendated!

The chateau is surrounded by a nice-looking garden with a warmed pool and a hot tub. Inside of the chateau there are many gorgeous rooms with an authentic interior. I loved the fireplaces and the salons. The rooms are spacious, well maintained and show great class and quality. The bathroom is nice and clean and has got a bath and...

“We had 2 rooms in the tower, connected by a bathroom. This was perfect for us as a family of four (2 adults, two children). There was no bath, but it didn't matter, the shower was very good.”
