Hotel's Favourite
We stayed at Tet Rouge for just one night - our flight home was cancelled and we needed a room at the very last minute. We arrived in the pitch dark to a warm welcome: the kitchen stayed open for us, and we had a delicious dinner and a much-needed glass of wine (or two). Our room was wonderful - large, cool, quiet, and so comfortable. But even more wonderful was the surprise of the view when we opened our curtains the next morning to the beautiful pool and sea beyond - remember, it was dark when we arrived! It made for great conversation over breakfast. And as good as the food and accommodations were, the most special part of this experience was the care the Tet Rouge team took to make sure we were looked after. They were so kind and helpful - they turned what could have been a truly dreadful experience into one we will always remember. Thank you.

If you are looking for a restful vacation, Tét Rouge is probably one of the most relaxing places in St Lucia. With a very calming garden, you can enjoy an amazing view of the ocean from the infinity pool. The studios are cozy and spacious, perfect for a discreet and quiet stay for single or couples. The super friendly staff will prepare delicious local and international food, and you can entertain yourself with other guests, while enjoying exotic cocktails from the bar.  Being very close to the beach, it’s easy to discover the local sights or sail the resort’s Catamaran to explore the ocean and have a couple of drinks while being delighted by breathtaking sunsets. Tét Rouge remains for me one of the most peaceful getaways, a perfect place to truly enjoy yourself!

Honestly, I struggled with this review. I really wanted to like this place and I make a habit of staying in boutique hotels whenever I can. The view is beautiful - everyone is right when they say that. The rooms are...fine?! I'm not sure if other reviewers stayed in other places on the island, but these weren't anything special, weren't stocked well at all, and dated for the price point. I really love boutique hotels with personality and these were a bit generic. You are attached to another cabin and the walls are paper thin, so if you're beside a snorer, loud talker, partier (or all of the above) you're out of luck. The outdoor shower and pool were nice, but not as nice as they looked online. The pool was definitely on the smaller side, had no lighting at nightime, and you were inches from the person in the chair next to you. The people were a mix. It was like the owners just left it up to the employees to run the resort and hoped for the best. Half the employees were fantastic, the other half it felt like you were asking to move mountains when you needed a pool towel. They may want to be a bit more careful when talking about guests behind their backs though (to be fair, it was super amusing to listen to the employees talk about the guests when they didn't think anyone could hear or understand them...) But between the guests moaning about the service and the employees moaning about the guests - it felt a bit more like high school and a bit less like a resort. The food was expensive but pretty good (I had one of the best and one of the worst meals on the island here - so it's pretty hit or miss). The bar was expensive and not good at all. All the other places we stayed had more authentic island food and amazing breakfasts - this breakfast was nothing special. If you're looking for a burger or more 'American' food, this was the only place we found one. Hilroy was cool, with excellent music taste, I don't know where they would be without him. Close(ish) to stuff by taxi, not walkable to anything really. Booking taxis on your own and not through them will save you a ton of money. Getting food or drinks off of the property will save you a ton of money. Overall, it was fine. If they didn't price themselves as a 'resort' they probably would have gotten another star from me . I've paid more money for worse, and (a lot) less money for (a lot) better. A bit of a disappointment, a definite let down for the price. We found much better boutique-y (and - very important to me - locally owned!) places to stay on the island.

St Lucia is a marvel, with its hidden beaches, breath-taking Ecuadorian forest paths, the most amazing flowers and the multitude of fruits. A to be able to enjoy the island at Tet Rouge resort it is like walking in the garden of heaven in full bloom. I could not get all the images, perfumes and could not taste all the delicious fruits in such a short holiday. When I dream of peace and happiness, I picture myself standing by the pool with a cocktail watching the perfect sunset over the perfect garden. And waiting for the surprise dessert of the evening 😊

If you want to go to a Ritz hotel, or if you want to eat at Applebee's....Go. Please Go. Leave Tet Rouge to people who appreciate this unique and very special place. Understand that on an island, any island has challenges obtaining products that serve their customers. Tomato Juice is probably not a priority! Right? Tet is clean, spacious, cool and romantic. Excellent local foods coming right out of the water the same day. Fruits and Flowers hang in abundance. Pool is soft salt water and has a spectacular view constantly. Rains come most days. But clear up soon. Remember the folks who work hard to satisfy us travelers are affected by our responses. They take pride and are loyal to the success of this place Shout out....Garvin, Melissa, Hilroy, George and Quint. Like family now! Thank you Siron and Diana for your "Gemini" Creation. Twins work well together. We hope to return! Lori and Butch

We were excited based on reviews, first real vaca in a long time. But I want to give a honest review because hopefully it will help with proper expectations of what this place is and what it is not. First of all let me tell you what it is not.. unfortunately in no way shape or form is this a resort of any type it's basically an Airbnb that's in a not so great neighborhood of homes ... The good is all the people we met were really nice so this is not meant to be disparaging to them at all..Hilroy the bartender, well he's fantastic they should change it to his name because he literally did when we were greeted out of the taxi from the airport which was $80 to go about 20 km or so the not so good was we were only greeted by walking a few feet to a room the size of a storage shed so they could run our credit card immediately for the difference of what we paid for deposit... no welcome drink, flowers on bed or even in room... You were greeted with one dirty Glass in the room that was one of those six ounce highball glasses.. two spoons two forks and two knives in the drawer and a Nespresso machine... One complimentary thing of water and before I go any further let me tell you unfortunate where I make a very good income well into six digits a year but sometimes it's just the principle of the thing if you're at a Ritz or something you understand you're going to pay a premium for everything but this would be like a .5 on a scale of 1 to 10 to that type of experience .... The first thing we saw was there was a couple cans of sodas in the refrigerator there was something stuck on the refrigerator that said they were $5 US a piece, we had paid 4 Caribbean for that in a beer was the same price when we left the put that in perspective that would have been 15 ECU for a can coke.... you understand people are going to Mark things up but that was the sign of other things that were just ridiculously overpriced because there's nowhere to go so they know they have you when you get that $4 ECU that I paid for a pecan beer turned into about $25 ECU for just one beer there... Just regular cocktails were around $15 I think you get where I'm coming from just in a different stratosphere that you would pay if you were like in the luxury hotel in Vegas or onMiami Beach or something..first night of dinner same thing 42 USD 130 ECU for approx 5 ounces of stewed fish served in a ramicon with another ramekin of squid salad which was 22 more American which was another 70 both much smaller than what you would get and say an appetizer size at an Applebee's or it did taste good it was just ridiculous for what you got so it put you sort of in a bad disposition from the start then once we got back to the room for the next few hours it was the dog barking and then house that was about a hundred feet from the room and that went on throughout the after all that being said we tried to make the best out of it because the people were generally nice but the next day it was the same kind of stuff you would expect whoever lived next door had their base turned up in their truck and this went on for hours.... so let me give you some of the good to be fair even though the room was a little dated it had a great porch with your own view out to the nice outdoor no TV but we knew that going in internet work but like I said before there was virtually nothing in the room the cupboards were bare nothing that made it really look Carribean either...Pork chop and the $12 salad of lettuce and veggies loved the dressing and Indian sauce for pork chop...50 USD for both.... rediculous small chocolate ice cream in a glass maybe 3 to 4 ounces for 11 bucks... Nothing with it but a cherry on top... So I think you get the drills it's just so over the top overly priced white they're pretending it's a resort when basically you're staying in a neighbor's house is what it feels like and the owners are not home... Which in this case they were nowhere to be found we were told they were in Canada or something.. So after spending around $1,700 for 3 days we also were agreed with another $850 check up I'm leaving just for three nights at dinner and we might have had four to five drinks a day per person... Just to be clear the pool is small but we had it basically to ourselves for a couple days but it has a great view but the ocean is probably at least a couple miles away and there's no way to get there.. And you were confined to probably a half a acre if that of space with houses all around you So there's nowhere to walk and explore ...when you're there you are there...there's no restaurants or stores or anything for miles... You do get a small breakfast in the morning which consists of two eggs and some fresh fruit and a piece of bread and they ask if you want bacon that's the only meat.... So to sum it up for 3 days before we moved on to somewhere else it was almost $3,000 total for staying in what felt like more of a Airbnb like I said before in someone's house but the owners were not there.. All that being said that could appeal to a lot of people out there, because outside of the dog barking and the occasional loud thumping base coming from the cars that were around, I guess in the houses to the sides and behind the property.. there were stretches where things were quiet and you were looking out over a beautiful view.. even though I got off to a little bit of a slow start.. Hilroy was fantastic.. I don't want to sound too harsh but where we are today is simply night and day and I'm not going to name it because I don't want to sound unfair.. basically $1,000 a day for some food that are small portions and some drinks quite frankly that aren't that great because the bottle stay out all night and are not kept stored properly.. not to mention half the things on the menu they were out of they did not have simple things like tomato juice I had to go pay a taxi to go get some of the stuff like that for me... I think you get the picture it's definitely not a resort and it's certainly not five star but if you got the money and you want to go somewhere quiet outside of what I told you before with a beautiful view this might be the place for you..

Although you booked and stayed with us for only three days, we are glad to hear that you appreciated the services of our bartender. Now in the interest of providing some clarification and guidance for our future guests, we have taken the time to provide a response to your review. Although we welcome objective reviews from our guests (whether positive or negative), please understand that in the case of any factual misrepresentations, our duty is to provide - for the information of any future guests - a response with clarifications. Also, note that we understand that in most cases any misrepresentations contained in reviews are not intended to be defamatory but are merely the result of misunderstandings or mistakes. 1 - Location. We are located within walking distance from Anse L’Ivrogne Beach and the Gros Piton hiking trail (the number one attraction in St. Lucia),10 minute drive from the back entrance of Sugar Beach, up to 20 minute drive to Soufriere, Diamond Falls, and Botanical Gardens, the Sulphur springs and the mud baths, Anse Chastanet beach, Dasheen restaurant at Ladera Resort, Boucan at Hotel Chocolat, and Mango Tree restaurant at Stonefield villas resort. It usually takes up to 20 minutes to drive because the roads have only one lane and driving is slow, not because of the distance itself. A complimentary shuttle is offered to the nearest beach, and taxis and tours are available for all our guests in case they want to go out. Our tropical gardens are very enjoyable and are a place to discover and learn about tropical flowers and plants. If the guests are spending their vacation time inside the room, we respect their privacy. 2 - We require a 50% deposit at the time of booking and the balance is due at the check-in. Every guest is required to check in at the reception as is the industry standard. We are proudly recognized by St Lucia Tourism Board as a 4* boutique resort. Our reception reflects the size of our little resort. We always welcome our guests with flowers on the bed and in the room, and we provide a mini bar in all our rooms for their convenience. Our rooms are all built and decorated Caribbean style, as everybody can see them online or on our site www.tetrouge.com. The room rates include complimentary breakfast (not buffet style). 3 - We are surprised to read your concerns regarding the food and beverage costs. Upon review, we did notice that the amount mentioned in your review was substantially greater than what you had actually spent at our resort. If you have concerns or questions regarding your final bill, we are happy to walk you through the charges we have on file for you as we value transparency. 4 - Bar hours are between 11 am and 9 pm. If any guest requires something from the bar beyond those hours we will try our best to accommodate him/her. 5 - Our 40 ft salt water infinity swimming pool also reflects the size of our resort and can be seen online or on our website. We have no issues with negative reviews and in such cases, we assume the reviewer is simply doing his/her best to present the facts and his/her opinions in an honest effort to guide the decisions of future guests. But again, we will respond where any factual mistakes are made or where any defamatory misrepresentations are made. Although most of our guests enjoy their stay at Tet Rouge, our little resort may not be for everybody.

To say Tet Rouge is a hidden gem is an understatement. It’s representing the Caribbean life at its core. The rooms are so romantic and cozy, the food is fantastic (omg, the fruits grow all over the place…) the location is surreal, and the folks working there are extremely friendly. Being on the small side is an advantage as guests are treated like close family. By no means this is a commercial business; its one that embraces the local culture, surrounds you with the typical life treats so unique when living by the sea. The views are out of this world, and when you descend on the beach, you are, indeed, on another planet, feeling like a Hollywood celeb, owing your very own piece of sand (white, black, your pick..). I mean where else do you get an unaltered beach, by a tropical forest, with a Piton as the back drop! A truly unique experience… Go visit, and you will not regret your decision. The only “bad” is that you will not want to leave from there any more. :-)

My husband and I came here for a well needed vacation and stayed for seven nights. Our villa was gorgeous, with 5 star views of the sunset and stars every night. Staff were so friendly, helpful, and personable. The outdoor shower was my favorite and used it every day. We ate at the resort most days since the taxi service was $50 round trip for most places. Food and cocktails were delicious! I loved the massage from Maria so much that I got a second one done the day before leaving! Gavin helped us coordinate excursions, our favorite one being the Catamaran with snorkeling with only two other couples for a very reasonable price! Roulan drove us around everywhere and he's just so kind and personable. We really enjoyed his company! Claudius also went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The staff are all very hard working and made our experience there a 5 star experience. Our trip was the last week of February, and it's now been five days since coming back and I wake up thinking every morning about the wonderful staff/guests we had the pleasure of getting to know at the resort. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I came here for our second part of our honeymoon and I’m so glad we did! Tet Rouge is secluded, private and has spectacular views. The resort only has 6 units on the grounds. Nice to enjoy conversations with the other guests. The staff was beyond friendly and attentive. Hilroy makes the best drinks on the island!!! Galvin, Samantha, George were amazing with making sure we were taken care of with things to do, food and honestly anything needed. Taxi/Shuttle drivers Martin and Roland were awesome! We had some great laughs on the drives, even found out how the locals named the resort. Honestly, a great story! You tell Mr.Martin and Roland when you want to go and where and they will make it happen. Tet Rouge provides you access to the beach that’s like a 10 min drive as a “shuttle service” . Maria the masseuse is a MUST!!! No regrets! OMG and we did the sunset cruise on the catamaran- WOW! We saw 8 sunsets and by far this was our favorite. The food was sooooo good! The rum punch AMAZING- made by Hikroy. We even chatted with the owners and they are extremely incredible people- the humbleness resonated through them. We will be back!

Thank you to everyone at Tet Rouge for a simply wonderful stay. We were looked after beautifully and felt utterly spoilt. We had plans to eat elsewhere during our three day stay but the food and cocktails were so delicious we couldn’t bring ourselves to go elsewhere. We did venture out once for a combined snorkelling trip and sunset cruise. Heaven. Wish we were still there.
