A bit of paradise, amazing sea water pool, super friendly staff and the diving was great. Saw a barracuda tornado, cuttlefish, nemos and loads more.

Anni arranged for us to go to see the volcano too, the motorbike ride there is as much of an adventure as getting up to the crater. We were also taken to see some local palm sugar manufacture.

The rooms are basic and the ants were there in droves but Anni has some little tricks and home brew insect repellent to help keep them at bay.

I enjoyed a very exciting week with Sanctum. Obviously, scuba diving was my primary reason for braving the crazy logistics to actually get to the Togeans!

The manager Cedric was in excellent communication with me in answering questions and providing helpful advice about travel logistics.

Diving
Wow, just WOW! Definitely worth the effort to get there Great guides Obe and Vicki. The dive shop is organized and equipment seems well maintained.
The dive boats are typically for 4-6 divers and there sites as close as 3 minutes and as far as 30 minutes

Resort
The lodging accurately reflected what was described online- functional and clean and relatively no frills, which was fine since spending time in the room other than sleeping is a missed oppprtunity to be immersed in the outdoors.

The meals were varied, fresh and quite tasty. Communal seating. Nice bonus to have soft drinks and snacks available for purchase….and of course Bintang beer!!!

Fa and Gira were key staffers that contributed to such a friendly environment,

Value
The pricing for everything was very fair and reasonable.

I appreciated that Cedric helped me find another resort to allow me to explore a little bit more of the Togeans before I left. He also reminded me of me brain freeze moment when I left my cash in the resort safe. He made plans for another guest to meet me to get the cash back to me. Grateful for his honesty and trust.

Volcano
Msnynbolcanos fir the landscape in Indonesia but to my knowledge there is only one - at una una, that has scceds to the floor of the actual volcano caldera where you witness puddles of water boiling like a caldron, vents spewing out scalding steam and huge plumes of steam cloud shrouding the floor. It’s about an hour and half each way following a stream that gets progressively hotter.
A must/do.

I didn’t give Sanctum
5 star review, they truly EARNED it!!

My family and I had a fantastic five days at Sanctum Una Una Eco Dive Resort. The Diving was the best I have done in Indonesia, and having lived here for five years now; I have dived in quite a few places around the country. The was an abundance of dive sites at Una Una, with an impressive amount of variety. I was particularly impressed with the condition of the reefs and the amount of fish seen at the various dive sites.

The equipment was modern, well maintained, and there was plenty of it. The dive instructors were highly professional but very relaxed at the same time, which allowed for a stress-free diving experience.

Hospitality at the resort was outstanding, and this fun, family-friendly atmosphere made our stay really enjoyable. This was down to all the staff who were working at the resort.

The accommodation was good and having electricity 24 hours a day was a bonus as we could use fans during the night. We were given an additional room at no extra cost to make our stay more comfortable, a lovely gesture! There was also free internet which was another big bonus, especially for the kids.

The food was delicious, with lots of variety, ranging from Indonesian classics to salad and pasta. Cold water and excellent coffee were also very much appreciated.

We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this resort.

It was just perfekt and we extended our stay because we just couldnt leave this lovely paradise and the Sanctum family. It fet like being with friends Who welcomed us by the bottom of their heart. Cedrick and Fate as well as all other members from housekeeping, cooking, diving have been so helpful, lovely and enjoyable company. It was easy to adress any need or wish in terms of food, accomodation, transport, expeditions and diving. It was also heartwarming to see how they interact with each other. It seems like the whole team really love their place and work. the rooms are spacious and well-furnished and come with moskito-nets and Fans. They have been Set up with a nice style. Upon request the rooms were cleaned and there is also an Option for laundry service.
The dive sites are unique and rich in all different kinds of underwater life. The diving was organized and done very professionally. Also the equipment is well maintained. All Divemasters, instructors, guide and captains did very well to make every dive safe and enjoyable.
I could come continue forever with this positive review!
just visit them by yourself and see it on your own.

Dear Cedric, Fate & Hannah,

I write to thank all of you for another wonderful trip to your Sanctum Una-Una last week. It's lovely meeting your warm and friendly staff again, and that the place is gradually being upgraded to meet the demands of the many guest during your peak months.

Fate, you have been very sleek for having coordinated everything for my journey to your resort, and I shall be liaising with you soon for the Group Trip there next May. Sorry I missed you when you left for your trip to Bali, and look forward very much to seeing you again when I return there.

Hannah, you have simply been awesome dancing between Marketing, Resort Operations and DiveMaster, and still manage to be composed and light hearted throughout your intense duties. You amazing lady, we shall go through your lovely underwater photos when I get back.

The hospitality of the resort and many yummy meals that came out from Anti ( kitchen head ) and her team is often on time, not to mention great ... the Pizza was bloody dazzling. It is a joy to see all of them work passionately to present their best to the guests.

Faldo, Unz and the boys over at the diving department were amazing and often so button down in all that they do. You have a great, talented, friendly and responsible team.

However, you must keep a serious watch on your DM Trainee ( Zach ). He almost crack my skull with his gross clumsiness, and repeated another unnecessary poor entry subsequently. While he is nice in personality, he is somewhat not paying enough attention to simple instructions.

Lastly, Im tres happy to have met you Cedric (.. finally) and thank you for your kindness and jovial self, and for having walked all the way to wish us a warm goodbye when we left. My group and I are looking forward very much to our trip to Sanctum in 2024, and I wish you all joy and love everyday at your gorgeous paradise.

yours,

Dennis

Sanctum is a dive center in one of the best dive (or maybe the best) sites we have dived. Most of the Una Una reefs are in excellent condition. We loved especially black forest and Cedricks secret site. The house reef is perfect for snorkeling and free diving. We encountered for example turtles, rays, morays, napoleon fishes and small squads on night dive. Fauna is plenty.

Sanctum itself is a full service dive center with a free nitrox. Breakfast and meals are included in accomodation. Food is good and there is plenty of it. Accomodation consist of slightly different beautifull bungalows. Staff is great and includes a lot of local people including 2 professional dive masters and kitchen crew.

This was my second trip to Sanctum (first was in 2015). If you want to experience world class diving in a great atmosphere and excellent accomodation, choose Sanctum Una Una. Only down side is the long trip to get there. But that might also be the reason why it is so well preserved.

Thanks Cedrick, Fateh, Un, Valdo and the whole crew!

6 days in Sanctum to regenerate ourselves and live a unique experience of feeling at home while being almost at the end of the world.
The journey is definitely worth it thanks to the kindness of the team, the incredible diving and snorkeling and great food blending local recipes with some French flair. Cedrick and Fate are great hosts always there to meet our needs and make sure we get the most out of our vacations.

Beautiful sea view bungalow with open roof bathroom with even hot water. Brand new mosquito net around the bed. Hammock on the veranda. Excellent food (too much !) and always a good variety of meals during my 5 days of stay. Free refill drinking water. I didn't dive but the other 10-13 guests did and all were very satisfied. There are 4 to 5 small boats and plenty of staff in order to offer different diving spots according to levels. French owner (who can be rude sometimes with some guests) and a young Brit lady full of energy : excellent management. Electricity 24 h. and wifi working well during night time. There is even a small pool ! Highly recommended ! Nice walk up to the volcano's hot springs (45 minutes walk after 45 minutes on motorbike : 250 K).

We spent two weeks at Sanctum for our end of the year holiday.

It was just a perfect place to be - fantastic diving, great food (Anni, thank you for your creativity and awesome vegetarian options), magic coconuts (Una Una coconuts are literally the best I've tried).

It was my best diving experience so far. Biodiversity & corals are stunning. We were visiting the same dive sites a couple of times, and we couldn't get enough, it's so good!

The team of dive instructors is very professional and friendly. We had lots of fun. Thank you guys!

Absolutely loved my stay at Sanctum due to the quality of staff. Their hospitality and sense of humour, as well as the French flavour, reminded me so much of Club Med. The quality of water, corals and sea life is outstanding, and yet it’s quite a safe area for diving as very rarely are there any currents or rough sea.
