Stayed three nights while skiing at mine cimone. The hotel is of older date well maintained though. Rooms are spacious. Unfortunately their beds are only 1,9 meters which I find outdated being 2 meters tall. The real treat is the restaurant which delivers solid food from the region at a level better than the restaurants in Sestola
Despite it's almost desperate need for a robust refurbishment, apart from the modern and comfortable double family room where we spent 4 nights out of 5, I rate this hotel 5 as I've rarely felt so welcome and well attended as I did at San Marco with my family and two young daughters under the careful and polite supervision of its young but professional manager. Excellent food, happy hours and a brilliant cocktail man. All staff, with no exception, was quick and loving. I just tried to book a room for another shorter stay but it's full, no surprise. 1950s atmosphere, Pupi Avati for the Italians, Durty Dancing for non Italians as a movie reference.
This is a good 3-star hotel but definitely does not deserve the 4 stars it has. Centrally located in Sestola, with parking, it has very mediocre rooms (we saw 3 before we finally settled on the least-objectionable) with smallish bathrooms and old furniture. All staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good, but the overall experience was marred by the misfit between the external promise of the hotel - a beautiful villa set up on a hill very close to the center of town - and the internal reality, which definitely needs updating. In short, if you can find a 3-star price for this hotel, go for it; otherwise, give it a miss.
We recently stayed at Hotel San Marco for 2 nights. The hotel is closely located to the bus station and surrounding shops/restaurants. Reception was lovely and spoke English very well. Upon arrival, check in was fast and our room was ready with all our request met. Room itself had a lovely view of Sestola and the bathroom was very clean & full equipped. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and they provided a shuttle service to drove us to and from the ski site. On many occasions, hotel staff went out of their way to help us plan our vacation. We will definitely be coming back to stay at Hotel San Marco.
