The tranquil environment, rooms with view of rice terraces, the exceptional warmth and hospitality of proprietor Mr. Karma Topden, the care and professionalism of the manager Mr. Pema, and the ever attentive staff at Martam Retreat will most certainly make you extend your holiday in Sikkim where the adage 'once is not enough' truly applies when you check into this beautiful home-like property. We extended our stay because we simply fell in love with Martam Retreat. The food is traditional, lavish and the desserts par-excellence!

Martam Retreat is located in a peaceful , pristine , calm , serene and enchanting hamlet of upper Martam which is within fifteen minutes drive from the spiritual abode of his holiness the Karmapa ‘RUMTEK MONASTRY’. We arrive just before advent of spring and end of autumn season where the sights from Martam Retreat ,in valley with terrace cultivation was awesome. The resort is located in a enchanting place with all five star amenities like swimming pool, sauna, spa and all modern facilities. The resort is blessed with nature’s bounty which is indeed an intangible assets to the resort. The rooms are very comfort and spacious . The food are really delicious, one must try the local cuisine specially the momos. We went for hiking to waterfall nearby , though the hike was

The Martam Retreat is a wonderful place to stay in a truly beautiful part of the world. If you are looking for village walks, quiet rural scenes, great strolls through fields and mountain tracks, excellent food, warm hospitality and excellent facilities... then the Martam Retreat is for you! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will remember fondly watching the sun set over the paddy fields with the temple bells ringing and monks singing their nightly prayers... a lone jackal howling as the mountains were shrouded in darkness... thanks for a great stay!

We were a group of 12 of us (4 kids included) who stayed for 2 nights at Martam Retreat from 22 to 24 Dec, 2015. Our experience began much before we reached the place. We called them up from Siliguri to have dinner ready and based on our inputs, they assumed we would be at the place in 3.5 hours. Unfortunately, we got close to 2 hours late and we were pleasantly surprised with the hot food that we got, despite the delay. The owner of the property and the staff were courteous and gave us enough time to take us around the property. The heaters in the room are a boon during the winter months. Since its at a remote location, availability of hot water becomes limited. But the owner/staff helped us with the additional showers, which were solar powered. The owner also told us

All the comforts I'd hoped for (including pool) with views to die for and very hospitable hosts. All just one hour from Gangtok so easy to get to for a few days relaxation. Really comfortable bedrooms excellent food and nature just outside the front door. Especially liked the guided short trek to the waterfall.
