We stayed at Martam Retreat from 10th to 12th of May 2019. The facilities are excellent including the swimming pool. The staff led by the manager Mr Dorje were very helpful. Mr Dorje went beyond his call to make our stay very welcome and comfortable. I heartily recommend this resort to other people.

We moved to Martam Retreat from Martam Village Resort and left it's wonderful Victorian atmosphere (as we have thought) but experienced another brilliant spot with its breathtaking views. Martam Retreat is perfectly located away from the madness and busyness of Gangtok and yet not too far enough to make you feel as you are in a remote area. The hotel itself is beautifully done and furnished. It also has a very well thought out soundproofing system. Bathrooms were clean and always had hot running water. Spacious rooms with super comfy beds , completely natural environment and heartwarming hospitality given to us by local staff was something to write home about. The owner was always around to make sure things were running smoothly. Food served + the views was what the doctor

We came with our 8 and 5 year old sons and had the hotel all to ourselves since it was just post-monsoon. The location is stunning - views could not be better, and the rooms are very nice. My one feedback to the hotel is regarding the walks. We came wanting very much to take long walks, and we managed, but it was hard to extract information from the hotel on what were the trekking options, distance, etc. They have a nice welcome note in the room when you arrive. I suggest they write another one, detailing the treks. The manager who was giving the info had clearly not done any of the walks and was very unclear. Even booking taxis was difficult! We wanted to see the Kanchanganga view one morning but were told we had to book a taxi the night before, which seemed preposterous since

Excellent food and a swimming pool! Also beautiful views, close to Gangtok but far from the traffic and bustle. A wonderful relaxing place to stay! Though the retreat was empty during monsoon season, they opened the pool for our use! Wonderful hospitality!

I can just say it’s the best place to stay with homely food. Rather than staying in Gangtok which is very congested and cluttered you can enjoy quality time with family and friends. The staff is very friendly and helpful and view of mountains with passing clouds is amazing loved it
