After attending a wedding here as a guest I have to write a review. The staff were absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble and although you shouldn't single out any individuals, Ansa, Liam and Pete you guys are outstanding! The hotel itself was a great place for a wedding with many different spaces and areas. Really well furnished and a welcoming vibe, two bars and restaurant with a lovely terrace overlooking the park.
A friend had paid for us to have an overnight stay here as part of my birthday present. It is based in extensive grounds and you would not think it was so close to both a major international airport and to the centre of Manchester. The staff were incredibly helpful from the moment we walked into reception and showed us to our room. We wanted twin beds and the only one which could be turned into this was a disabled room on the ground floor. It was quite large and had a correspondingly large bathroom. However, the shower facilities left something to be desired as wherever you stood under it, it flooded half the floor.
From the minute I made enquiries with the hotel, I have been very impressed with the staff, who have been very helpful at all times. There is only one twin room available for booking, but it was a decent size and the beds were very comfortable. Windows only open slightly but we did eventually find out there was air conditioning in the room. Whilst we had drinks on the terrace a plate with a couple of cakes, and a happy birthday message in chocolate, was placed in the room - a lovely touch. As it was a disabled room there was a wet room - wet being the operative word here as both of us flooded the bathroom each time we showered - needs better drainage and hooks for clothes in the bathroom - I had to wring the bath mat out - not sure why it was provided. Dinner was included in the offer. My lamb was really good - my friend's steak was medium rather than medium rare. Breakfast was fine, but my fried eggs and my friend's poached eggs were not runny. We didn't send them back but they slightly spoilt the overall experience. This is a quirky hotel, very comfortable and in nice grounds. Car Parking is an issue because if you don't get in the few spaces available you have to pay on the pay and display a few metres up the road, and have to move your car by 9:30 the next day to avoid paying again. Should be some sort of voucher the hotel could provide to allow free parking. The staff are what makes this hotel good. They are very friendly and go out of their way to help you. I would definitely visit again but perhaps take a snorkel and fins for the bathroom next time.…
We couldn't fault our experience with Oddfellows on the Park for our recent wedding. From the moment we got in touch, Ansah and her team were excellent, always quick to answer questions and help us design our day exactly as we wanted it. The venue sells itself really, it's a stunning hotel in a beautiful park but the staff made a special day, even more incredible. Ansah, Liam, Pete, Jade, Natasha, Holly and all the other staff we encountered just went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and there for reassurance when I had a little wobble before going into the ceremony! The venue was decorated beautifully for both the ceremony and the reception, and we had a lovely drinks reception whilst the rooms were turned around ready for the Wedding Breakfast, at which the food was simply amazing, so delicious and brilliantly prepared. We honestly could not have picked a better place for our wedding and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue to other people who want to get married in the Stockport area...beautiful venue and fantastic staff, who just want you to have your perfect day. What more could you ask for?!…
Cleanest and most relaxing stay. The staff cannot do enough for you! We had a few issues at a previous hotel so moved to this one and were looked after so well! They went out their way to help us out and store some personal belongings whilst we stayed. Food was amazing and tasted incredible. Breakfast was also extremely nice and hot! Rooms are immaculate. We stayed in a junior suite with the bath in the room and honestly was amazing! Lovely where the hotel is situated for an evening walk and very close to other restaurants and retails parks. A million and one percent coming back again! Liam when we checked in was so polite and helpful and the lady with brown hair on the evening was super lovely polite and chatty and really helped us out!
