Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely, warm welcome. Friendly, kind and flexible people. Simple, cozy and fresh rooms. Good internet connection. I would say that this place is ideal for families, couples or solo travelers, who want to spend the night/s in a peaceful environment.

We stayed here on 05/07/2013 and can thoroughly recommend this B&B as an ideal location. We were attending a wedding in nearby Kells and it was an ideal choice for those visiting Meath/Louth/Cavan area. Given a spotlessly clean room in the annex we felt we had our own little apartment, with included tea/coffee making facilities, microwave and fridge. Peggy is a fabulous hostess and in the morning, we could have availed of any amount of breakfast. We love the fact that Teach Cuailgne is pet friendly and next time we stay we'll have our little four legged friend with us.

We stayed in Teach Cuailgne on a tour of County Meath - Newgrange, Kells and Trim. One of the best experiences in an Irish B&B. Everything worked, especially the showers. Plenty of flat surfaces in the room to lay out all our junk. We paid 35 euro per head which we considered good value.
Short 5 minute walk into the small village.

My wife and I recently stayed at Teach Cuailgne B and B and we give it 2 thumbs up! It was wonderful. What a way to start our 8 days in Ireland. Our room was immaculate and large. The beds were great. The traditional Irish breakfast was fantastic and Peggy was so nice and helpful. She gave us a recommendation or two of places to see and things to do (plenty around there) which worked out very well. Our first meal in Ireland was at a small grocery story a short walk away and the folks in there were so friendly, joyful and helpful. .Anyone staying in the area of Kells really should consider Teach Cuailgne. You simply can't go wrong.

My partner and myself stayed here in 2013, i was not aware they had a trip adviser until now. We stayed here for one night in August 2013 as we were going to the Eminem concert. We got the Family Room which was beautiful. Big room, Bed and shower were great and there was a fridge as well. Very clean and decoration was lovely. Peggy and her husband Paddy could not do enough for us! We got there and the bus for the concert had already left and all the taxis were booked up so Paddy brought us there and collected us from the concert and brought us back again. Where else would you get this kindness. In the morning Peggy made us a full fry which was beautiful. They are so kind and thoughtful. They really go the extra mile with their guests and we are so grateful as we don't know what we would have done that night without them. Fantastic hosts and room. Had a great time! Thanks for everything!

I prefer to stay away from the city when I can and this place is away from Kells but still a really short drive, maybe 5 minutes or so. It is also walking distance to a couple of pubs which was a nice change of pace for me as often there are none near where I choose to stay. The room was quite large and had the biggest bathroom I've seen since I left the states. Peggy was awesome in pointing things out and fixing a hearty breakfast. WiFi was fast and there is plenty of off street parking. Highly recommend this place.

Our room was small and cramped for a full size bed and twin. The twin was smack dab again the cold outside wall. It is not the room I had asked for but it is what we got. The heat went off before 11 and we did not have heat when we got up at 7:00 ish. The guest lounge was nice but again no heat.
The coverlet for the twin was a full doubled over and in a duvet. It was quite heavy to sleep under and did not fully cover me and with the outside wall right there, was was not so hot. (I sleep at home with a down comforter and duvet so I am aware of what I was dealing with) . The linens did not match and the towels were well used but the bath room was ok with lots of nice little goodies in it.
Breakfast was a full Irish or less if you wanted with the usual cereals and some nice fresh fruit. Tea was good quality tea. Large dining room but she separates the guests which takes away some of the interesting part of staying at a B&B.
In two weeks of travel, this was our last stop before a hotel in Dublin and we had stayed at 4 other B&B's. This was the most expensive of all of them and had the least to offer.
BE most careful coming thru the gates as it is tight. The view from our window, last room on the left was of piles of scaffolding and not a pleasant view. And oh yes, there is a barking dog somewhere near by.
Hostess was most pleasant and did give us a good place to eat - The Round Tower - do not confuse it as we did our first night with the gift store. She also went out of her way to get me information regarding Carrickmacross and the Irish lace place there. She has some lovely pieces of lace she has made.
It was easy to reach Newgrange from here.
This should have been priced more towards 27.50 Euros to be a value

We are disappointed that this particular client did not fully enjoy their stay with us. We had gone to a lot of trouble to accommodate them over several emails regarding bed sizes as the husband was of a large frame. We had given them an option of either a double room with a queen size 5” bed (which the client requested), or a twin room with a 4.6” bed and a 3.6” bed (option given because client wanted multiple beds). The client chose the latter. The guests do chose where to sit for breakfast – on this occasion the other occupant had been staying with us for 4 weeks and was of a solitary nature. The price of our B&B is in line with other B&B’s in the area. Other areas further away from Dublin can tend to be cheaper. As Boyne Valley Champions, we go the extra distance in advising our guests of what is of tourism interest in our locality. We made 3 phone calls on the client’s behalf to track down the information she was seeking and printed out information for the client to take with them. As you can see from our other reviews, our B&B is a comfortable and an enjoyable place to stay so please does not be put off by this review.

This Bed and Breakfast was an extremely comfortable place. As we were staying four nights the owner accommodated us in a larger room annexed to the house. We were made feel very welcome. There were plenty of information available about the various sites and activities within a wide range of Meath and surrounding counties.

We arrived and Peggy greeted us with open arms. Offered the family guest area, where our travelling partners had nice side by side rooms away from the main house. Peggy served us a delicious breakfast with Potato waffles on request. What a lovely hostess she was. Room was self catering, complete with fridge and microwave, and cutlery. Brought in take out pizza and wine one night, which suited our budget. Rooms fresh, clean and cosy.

Not too far from downtown Kells.

On arrival for perhaps a single night, we instead struck a deal with the host for a 3 night stay, which we subsequently extended into a fourth night. The host put us up in one of the family rooms, complete with 3 beds, including a double. In the en suite room was a TV, refrigerator, microwave, hot pot, dishes and silverware, and a sink for washing. This enabled us to save some money when we bought food to prepare back at the room. Peggy was an excellent host, and we enjoyed every morning's breakfast. The location, about 5 minutes from Kells, was reasonably convenient to the many historical sights, including Newgrange, Knowth, Hill of Slane, Battle of the Boyne, and Monasterboice.
